Fortune Wok to Table
Our go to Asian restaurant. Eat downstairs for a casual yet authentic meal of noodles and fried dumplings. Dining upstairs, which requires a reservation, is a true treat. Jeff, Matt and LiLi all provide very personal service.
We made a reservation for the upstairs dining experience at Fortune Wok to Table for my boyfriend's birthday and we were not disappointed. The upstairs is only available by reservation and there are a limited number of seatings each night. There is also a separate menu that is more extensive than the downstairs menu. We were the only people upstairs for our entire meal. We had the beef short ribs and the flounder and both were superb. The service was exceptional. I highly recommend booking ahead so you, too, can enjoy Fortune Wok to Table's upstairs experience.
Very limited menu and not impressed. A table of five and had different choices but only one of us was pleased with her meal. The beef was chewy.
THE best fine Chinese food experience in Denver (possibly USA). Not at all your cliche PF Chang’s, Little Ollie’s, or Imperial - they all serve tasty food to be sure. Fortune WtT takes it up to the next level in their upstairs fine dining room. Having ordered all items on the menu, I can honestly say they are all incredible, all made to order from scratch. Plan on 90-120 mins.
We dined upstairs in the formal dining room and it was great. The food and service were spectacular. I definitely recommend it for a date night or if you are in the mood for amazing Asian food.
Absolutely wonderful meal. The food is fantastic and expertly prepares, Chef CJ is terrific. The service is top notch. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. I love the dual dining experience and the location. This is a cant miss in Cherry Creek.
Amazing food and drink. Totally unique dining experience. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Absolutely terrific: while it's nothing special to look at, the food upstairs--like the salt and pepper prawns and the heavenly hot and sour seafood soup--is just spectacular, with prices about average for Cherry Creek North. I can't wait to try the dumplings downstairs.
This is a small restaurant with uninspiring decor. The second floor was where the Chinese New Year's banquet was served and there was an effort to create a more upscale effect with the dinnerware, flatware and tablecloths. Our server (and additional help as needed) explained how the menu worked and also suggested an upgrade to the wine we selected. We started with the mushroom, pork and scallion dumplings which were freshly made and delicious. There were 6 which we shared between the two of us. We followed the dumplings with a hot pepper soup, which was quite spicy. We choose the Halibut with honey sauce as our final shared dish, it was superb! The halibut was a generous piece and was cooked perfectly. We did not leave without trying the special dessert. The meal was definitely upscale, not your standard Chinese restaurant fare, and if you are looking for a good tasty and quality Chinese food, this is the place.
Two restaurants it appears - downstairs if you have no reservations and upstairs if you do with special menu. If you want those beautiful noodles in the pics be sure to ask for downstairs menu!
Spring festival. Most food spectacular, but lobster was lacking flavor and oversalted
Lovely experience in their upper dining space. The bbq spare ribs and the prawns were the perfect pairing. Do not expect Americanized Chinese. This is the real deal. They put a lot of care into the food and the experience. I prefer the downstairs overall but upstairs is worth a visit. It’s a secret speak easy of food.
It’s a great place for a conversation and catch up. Expect to linger over the dishes. This isn’t a place to rush.
Fabulous authentic Chinese food.
Fortune is always good, freshly prepared, authentic cuisine with excellent service. A true gem.
Amazing Shanghaiese cuisine. Our server Jeff was awesome. Excellent value for what we received! They made my wife’s birthday extra special. Thanks!
This is a wonderful restaurant! The hot and sour soup with crab and shrimp is as good as or better than the bowl I had in Beijing. Outstanding! The flavors of everything we had was nuanced and delicious. We ate upstairs but can’t wait to sample the noodles downstairs. If you are jonesing for real Chinese food then this is it!! It’s not a huge menu but they rotate the offerings by the season.
Excellent meal. Friendly, personal service. Wonderful evening out.
Easily a top 5 option for authentic Chinese food in Denver, especially if you like Schichuan cuisine.
It was enjoyable, but in all honesty, the downstairs’ ambiance, menu and value far exceed that of the upstairs segment.
Amazing amazing amazing! Cannot wait to go back. Food was incredible and service is great.
This is a hidden gem. There are two levels. If you make reservations you are seated in a small upstairs area. The upstair's menu is seasonal and fairly limited in selection. We had salt and pepper shrimp and it was outstanding! The staff is friendly, caring and very knowledgable about everything on the menu. We were never rushed and had an opportunity to both enjoy the wonderful food and a relaxing environment.
This is a strange setup where only two dishes are served only downstairs and others are served only upstairs. So - if you want their delicious dumplings AND their delicious black pepper shrimp, you cannot. Why not just allow people to order what they want? And make more money? Food = good. Concept = silly.
Amazing meal; great service. We love this restaurant!!
If you are used to Denver Chinese food and that is what you want then this is not the place for you. But if you have had experience with authentic Shanghainese cuisine and are interested in a more refined experience than this is your place.
Awesome food. Good service. We weren’t quite sure what to expect but we’re pleasantly surprised.
Service and food are impeccable. This is ow my go -to for delicious, authentic Chinese food in Denver. No one does it better.
We went here on the recommendation of a friend, and loved it just as much as she did. Authentic, very well-prepared Shanghai-style Chinese food. Everything was so delicious! Especially the salt-and-pepper prawns. Our first visit won't be our last!
Had the salt and pepper shrimp! Oh my gosh it was fantastic. Salute to the cook! I had noodles with shrimp the first time I went and they were flavorful and delicious. My new favorite Asian place!!!
Our server was just the best and the food authentic!
Wow! Authentic and amazing service. What a find!
WOW!! We discovered this small restaurant in N Cherry Creek and what a find. Upstairs is the main menu and very limited seating. The menu changes frequently to reflect seasonal options. They have a nice selection of authentic Chinese rice wines, and good selection of beer and wine. We started with fried dumplings and agreed they may be the best we have ever had. No debate on the Hot and Sour soup, it was absolutely the best we have ever had. Rich and full of complex flavors. We shared two entrees for the four of us. I would be absolutely raving about the cod which was firm yet juicy in a wonderful sauce accompanied with large succulent brussel sprouts; if not for the duck! Unbelievable. My wife must have said six times, "this is how duck is supposed to taste". Almost melt in your mouth juicy in a rich sauce just bursting with flavor - we ran out of adjectives to describe just how wonderful this dish was. The best authentic Chinese food we have had in Denver/Boulder and as good as anything we have found in NY or San Francisco. You must try it! Oh and BTW our two servers were engaging, helpful and a joy.
This is a small restaurant with 2 levels - lower level for dumplings and soup; upper level for entries. The entries were well worth the wait as they were perfectly seasoned. The waiter was very friendly. We had a wonderful time and plan to return.
Our first visit after a last minute reservation for Asian food in the hood. Great food and service. Couldn't ask for more...
Lunches are fabulous. Dinner divine. This meal tonight was so very well prepared. All 4 courses were delicious. A must for foodies, and all.
The service and quality of the food is excellent. Fine dining quality at moderate prices!
What a great neighborhood find! The pork dumplings, hot and sour soup, and sea bass were all amazing and sharable for two. Our waiter, Jeff, recommended the perfect wine. He was friendly, attentive and explained the Szechuan menu. We went early, and the background music was at a perfect level. We could actually have a conversation. Can't wait to go back.
Since I have cooked Oriental food at home for many years I have high standards when it comes to Chinese food in a restaurant. I was not disappointed with the meal we were served at Fortune Wok to Table.
We started with an order of pork dumplings and they were wonderful. The individual dumplings are probably twice as large as the ones in other restaurants and the dipping sauce that accompanies them is very good.
We also ordered the duck and beef tenderloin as larger plates. Both dishes were excellent with the beef tenderloin cooked just right and complemented by a wonderful sauce. The duck was also prepared really well with no fat between the skin and the meat. Finally the portions are generous and we took home half of each order. They were both really good the next day. I would highly recommend Fortune Wok to Table if you like authentic Chinese food.
Love, love, love the ramen! Oh my gosh on a cold day it’s the best! Really good!
This new Cherry Creek Chinese is owned by a former accountant and her spouse and they've recruited an amazing Chinese chef that makes authentic cuisine.
We had steamed dumplings, prawns, lobster tail (which was a special item for that evening) and the seafood soup - all excellent. The non seafood offerings looked great as well. The preparation tends to be less fried and drown in sauce than most Chinese cuisine found in the US.
Liked the upstairs seating better than downstairs.
