We waited more than an hour for food, many of us were overcharged for food we never ordered and they ran out of chicken! 😩😩
Our XLB came out lukewarm and tasted like it’s been sitting a while after leaving the steamer. Panfried version along with Shanghai thick noodle with pork were delicious. However XLB left much to be desired
The dining experience was good. Nothing fancy or outstanding to mention.
They changed chefs recently and didn’t have ~50% of their menu
Great food and service!
First time going absolute amazing. I'm from Shanghai so the food wasn't too far from my taste buds (This was 3 months ago). Just went yesterday and here are some major issues.
1. They didn't have 3 of the 7 dishes I ordered
2. The food has fallen below par on expectations
3. Price isn't cheap so it's quite saddening we paid for such bad food and limited on food availability as well.
4. Service was pretty poor. Maybe they're training, giving them benefit of doubt since many restaurants are experiencing some of the same issues.
Really not acceptable, would not recommend going at the current moment until they get their **it together
It’s ok - could be better.
Made a 7:30pm reservation a few days in advance and confirmed it the day before arrival. Upon arriving for dinner on time the greeter informed me that I didn't have a reservation. I showed the confirmed reservation on OpenTable, nothing showed up in their reservation log, very embarrassing. The greeter kept telling me that there was a 30 minute wait. So what was the point of me making a reservation? Very disappointed.
First time in-house, have ordered take out many times. Food is great, restaurant is chill. Seemed to be out of a lot of items, but that’s not so surprising under current circumstances. Everything did was great and we’ll def be back again!
Dumplings were very good. Smoked duck and wonton soup was super salty.
Food was amazing as usual and didn’t disappoint. Love the soup dumplings and the happy family!
Food was delicious, the service was Horrendous.
Soup dumpling are usually absolutely amazing but this time they just didn’t quite live up to the fortune house name. They were great but not as good as they usually are for some reason
The shao long bao (Shanghai dumplings) are outstanding and authentic. Apparently, they even hired a chef from Shanghai to make these as well as the pan-fried version. Some of the other notable dishes include the green onion pancakes, the moo shoo chicken (with authentic "tortillas" that are homemade), the orange beef, the beef with wide noodles, and the green beans.
We had terrible service. We had to ask for EVERYTHING (e.g., menus, drinks, refills, silver/chopsticks, the bill, etc.).
And my food was inedible.
Yet they had many many customers. I am not sure why ... as I will never go back.
They had a fabulous view is the best thing I can say.
Love Fortune House - best juicy dumplings and pan-fried pork buns. They are a little pricey but the food is always good.
