   Unlike some reviews we read, overall, we had a very good experience at this restaurant (2nd time we'd been here). We had the gem salad (very good; deconstructed), shared the pasta with mushrooms (again, very good, huge portion) and had the swordfish and ahi tuna. I love pistachio ice cream, so opted for the "tower" (which it really was). The biggest problem I had here was that the waiter should have advised us better. Instead of saying "try 2 pastas and I will split them for you", I'm so glad we only split one pasta which was, as I said, a large portion. He also should have told us to only have the pistachio tower if there were 4 of us instead of just my husband and me. Still, the food and ambience, as well as the overall service, were excellent and we would come again (with these caveats).

   Last time I was here I was 5 mins late and they gave away my table. This time I was 5 mins early. I waited 1 hr for my table and then dinner took another 1.5 hrs. In fact we cancelled the last entree because we were so tired and annoyed from waiting. Great food, but substandard service. Btw, I own 3 very successful restaurants so not like I don’t understand the biz. Unacceptable and won’t be back sadly. Been here many many times.

   We were seated 90 min after our reservation time. The bar they ask you to stand at while waiting has no chairs. Manager was dismissive when asked about our table. Once seated, lovely experience and delicious food. Our server was prompt and friendly. Hope this helps; thanks!

   I’ve been to Forte dei Marmi five times in the past 18 months and had always enjoyed it — until now. I booked a table a month in advance to host overseas guests for a birthday, and the experience was truly disappointing. We were greeted coldly, then seated near the bar and later moved even closer, where guests standing behind us were bumping into our table. The group next to us was vaping indoors, completely unchecked by staff. Service was slow and disorganized — our side dish never arrived, and when I raised concerns politely, the response was dismissive. Despite informing our server of a severe nut allergy, we were given a complimentary dessert we couldn’t eat and hadn’t ordered. When the bill came, the dessert was claimed as "comped" but the full amount was still charged. Only after we pushed back was a partial adjustment made. This level of service — especially at a high-end restaurant — is unacceptable.

    Incredible restaurant! The energy here is just special. I have spotted on the same night there: Timothee Chalamet, Chris Brown , 50 cent, James Franco, Emma Roberts, Orlando Bloom and Charles Leclerc. I couldn’t believe it. The food is 10/10.
