Fort Hamilton Community Club
I really wish that Fort Hamilton's Community Club was not even available to the public via Open Table because it really is not easily-accessible to the public. After placing the reservation on Open Table for my parents' 30th anniversary (they had their wedding at the Fort 30 years ago), I was unable to call the restaurant (the phone that is available online does not even ring). When we arrived, we were told to check-in at the visitor center but it closed at 7 PM and our reservation was set for 7:30 PM; therefore we were unable to even get to the restaurant on the base. It was a truly upsetting experience and I hope that the Community Club is mindful and makes it known that check-in must occur before 7 PM even if a reservation is set for after 7 PM.
We had an extra person in our party. Getting an extra chair and utensil set took longer than I would expect it to. We were taken to a table in the Washington room, with a dirty plate and water glasses that had lipstick on the rims. The room was overcrowded with the tables too close together. There were no plates available for the buffet for over five minutes. There was no sugar for coffee. There were no spoons anywhere for the chocolate mouse dessert. When asked for a spoon we were told there were none on that floor and they would have to walk too far to get them. I booked for mother’s day after hearing a friend rave about bottomless mimosas at the Easter brunch. There were no mimosas. When I asked about it I was told each adult would receive a glass of champagne if requested. I made my own mimosa, and one was not enough to get me through that lackluster mother’s day brunch.
Good day, We apologize about your experience at our Mother's Day Buffet. We truly appreciate your business and patronage to the facility. Feedback like this help keep us informed of what we can do to make ourselves better and improve our customer experience. As far as champagne, to clarify, we do 1 complimentary glass, not bottomless at the prices that we offer which should be offered to you and not requested by you. Again, we apologize for your lackluster dining experience. ~FH Management
Mother's Day brunch.
Great food, great atmosphere. Lovely place.
Very nice, great service. I would certainly recommed the Sunday Brunch. Good variety
This was the perfect Easter brunch. There was a tremendous selection of hot, delicious food and drink, from the prime rib to the mimosas. The staff was available and very attentive. I would highly recommend any event that the Fort Hamilton Community Club hosts.
We went for Sunday Champaign Brunch. It was a great brunch buffet with an omelet station and a seafood and carving station. Great views of the Fort from the historic Community Club setting. You will have to show ID to enter the Fort.
everything was fine but one thing I noticed was the omelette station and carving station help did not smile and seemed like we were bothering them. It was uncomfortable to approach them to ask for a piece of meat or have an omelette made. Maybe ask them to not have a "face" on when customers approach. Thanks
Judith (hostess) and Tracy (waitress) were personable and professional. They saw to every need before a request could be made. The staff made for a pleasurable dining experience.
Had a great time! Enjoyed the variety! I consider it family friendly!
Absolutely terrible! This is our second time dinning (first experience was bad as well but figured we would try again). I confirmed with three people over the phone we needed two high chairs... NO high chairs and the hostess abruptly left me and my husband awkwardly waiting but NEVER came back! I had to track her down. I had to ask several times for plates. The egg bar had no egg whites left and refused to use regular eggs for my omelet (wanted to use the egg beaters... but he didn’t have any... so why not use eggs- we paid a lot of money and I have dietary restrictions.) the food was terrible esp for the price. We will never again eat this cafeteria food with less than subpar service. Disheartening how you treat active duty military and their families.
Sadly, we had a horrible experience at the Community Club at Fort Hamilton. On the evening we were present they were office a buffet. Well that buffet was 10x worse than a hospital cafeteria. The offered mashed potato's (which were instant), a dry dirty salad, beef that resembled and tasted like dog food, chicken parm that was cold as ice. Beverages and desserts were not included in the menu and we were not given the opportunity to order off the regular menu. I was embarrassed for selecting this place and kept apologizing to my guests.
Food was delicious and the wait staff very friendly. I highly recommend this place for any event.
Very cramped. Our group of eleven was squeezed into a round table in the bar area- very disappointed for the $45 per person. The area is dark and right next to the bar, not a nice area for families. I had difficulty getting up and back into seat because chairs were so close to each other, you couldn't pull them out easily. There were plenty of empty tables in the main dining room- were they waiting for later arrivals to sit there? If they anticipate a large turn out, why not open up upstairs like they did in the past, that was wonderful.
