Forno Rosso Pizzeria - West Loop
Please note we do not take reservations for our entire restaurant leaving room for walk-ins.
For Our Gluten Free Diners we highly recommend reserving gluten free dough. In our effort to serve the best and safest quality product our gluten free is available in limited supply, we strive to always have it available sometimes demand is greater and we do run out.
Vera Pizza Napoletana is made with a soft dough and takes about one minute to cook in a Wood-Burning oven. Because of this Pizza Napoletana has several distinctive characteristics. Pizza in Napoli is soft and foldable and can be considered “wet” by American standards. For this reason, people in Napoli generally eat their pizza with a knife and fork. Blackened char spots on the pizza crust is a tell–tale sign of Pizza Napoletana that has been cooked in a blistering hot, wood-burning oven. Each Pizza is an individual work of art.
Best pizza in the city. The entire family loves this place. The staff is great and the food is delicious.
Fantastic service! Our waiter was very knowledgable and approachable. Food came out fast and was so good! Highly recommend.
The food was good but service was very ok. We had to wait a long time to get our salads. Though Pizza was ready in time.
Pizza and appetizers were excellent. Wine was great and inexpensive. Service was friendly.
This is definitely one of our favorite pizza places in the city. The food is always delicious, the service is always fantastic and the patio is dog-friendly. What more could you ask for?
Pistachio pesto pizza is a must have!
Our server suggested we each order a pizza so we did.
My little family of 3 could’ve got away with 2, but don’t mind having leftovers. Pizza was delicious, a light red sauce with tasty toppings and a side of spicy olive oil... fire🔥 the GM came to greet and ask if we were from around the area, (S. Burbs) & of our experience. He ended up sending us Cannoli’s on the house.
Definitely will be back.
We had a great time! The service was excellent and the food was just as good. I can’t wait to go back.
We had a wonderful experience! The pizzas where delicious! I had a gluten free crust, it tasted like a traditional pizza crust! You would have not even known the difference. We even got a free dessert! I’d definitely come back here again!
Great experience as usual!
Best pizza ever!! I would recommend the Datterino.
Good service but WAY TOO LOUD! Must work on your acoustics
Food is delicious, including the home made pasta. But the music was way too loud, I couldn't hear my relatives during the dinner, neither the guys attending us.
Friendly service, incredible food, very noisy which can be fun but I wouldn’t take anyone older there
I love that place! Best paninis ever!!! One of my favorites so far in the West Loop!
Great pizzas! Tried the Locale and it was fabulous and filling. The managers were very kind.
Great food. Great service. Loud club music.
A little pricey, but overall very good! A great place to meet friends.
The only criticism I have is the pizzas are difficult to eat because the crust doesn’t hold up well to the toppings. I had to fold it like a New York slice. My companion resorted to knife and fork. The flavors are fantastic, though.
Our server was great and the food was delicious!
Our server April went over and above to make us feel welcomed and supported throughout our dinner. We split the Margherita and Locale pizzas, and the kitchen had no problem making the second pizza only half-sausage to accommodate my vegetarian partner. The pizzas came out in no time, and we devoured them nearly as quickly. We wrestled over which dessert to pick, since several of them sounded amazing. The Tartufo was ideal to share and was beautifully presented. The dining room is dimly lit, with big windows out to the street capturing the bustling vibe of the West Loop on a Saturday night. It was a really delicious date night. We will be back!
Love it, best Italian style pizza in the city.
I have to say I was really disappointed. I went here for a business meeting and met up with my colleagues who were traveling. The wait staff clearly was talking about us as we were waiting for others to arrive. There were maybe 4-5 tables max filled at a restaurant with over 25-30 tables. They acted annoyed and my counterpart noticed the waitress rolling her eyes and acting frustrated that we were sitting there for so long waiting for others to arrive. After we finally ordered and our final party came; I was told I could not order the panini without the bread because that would make others in the restaurant think they have a chicken entree on the menu. The chef wouldn't allow it. Are you kidding me? I am a customer and a chef wouldn't allow me to adjust an order to meet my dietary needs? It was awkward and made me very uncomfortable. Then they brought my two colleagues their meal and I sat there without food for at least 10 minutes. I asked for my salad that I had to order given they would not "allow" me to order what I wanted based on the "CHEF" wouldn't do it. Talk about arrogant! They finally delivered my salad - not in the way I ordered it - they had croutons when I asked for none - they had the wrong dressing - but after all the problems I didn't even say anything for fear we would miss our meeting. Terrible service!!! I will NEVER go back and will tell everyone how horrible they will be treated if they need to make adjustments. Too many great places in the West Loop to waste your time here. The only good thing was Diego - he was so helpful and smiling. The waitress was rude - she smiled in our face and rolled her eyes as she walked away and clearly made it evident they were talking about us "holding up their table" in a almost empty restaurant.
hidden gem in the city. pizza is excellent, service is great, always a hit. we got like 6 appetizers, 3 pizzas, 2 desserts and like 7 bottles of wine for 50 bucks a person split between 7 people. such a great deal!
A table was not ready at our reservation time.
Not only was the food excellent but attention to detail that resembles Italian dining culture. The entire staff and especially the GM were extremely nice and the service was great. The GM even treated our flying solo group to a special treat at the end of our meal.
As someone that has experience true Napoli pizza I highly recommend and will hopefully have time to return this weekend and definitely will return if ever in Chicago again.
Best gluten free pizza crust ever!!! How had I never been here before?!?!
Server April was very nice and helpful. The place was just so loud. My date and I had to yell to hear each other. Pizza toppings were rather skimpy.
Three of us shared two pizzas---more than enough for lunch. Combinations were creative.
This is the go to restaurant for my wife and I when we want a meal that we will LOVE. The food here is truly incredible. In a city full of amazing food, Forno Rosso really stands out in Chicago.
The waiter was very short and rude. There were a couple of times when I wanted to ask a question about the menu and he would walk away while I was talking. The food was good, but I wish the server was friendlier.
Great food and service, as always.
We always feel so welcomed and cared for here. The staff is super sweet especially to our 3.5yo!!
My first time here. Food was great. Had the panzanella salad, roasted olives and a mais pizza. Fresh and tasty and fast. Only downside is they don't carry any ice teas that are not sweetened. In fact, they don't have any unsweetened beverages other than water.. :( I will give their Harwood Heights location a try next as it's much closer to me as well.
Great service, but I’m disappointed in the pizza, I’m from the east coast and know a great thin crust when I see one and also a wood fired one at that. To me if you have a thin crust the is being wood fired it should not come out soggy on the bottom barely holding onto the toppings. The crust should be crispy all the way through. Sorry
I had remarked that this is a birthday dinner and after having to wait for 25 minutes after our reservation time we were given the table right by the bar entrance to everyone was bumping into us and there was no special treatment or even mention of the birthday. I asked for the candle on the table to be lit and this took them another 15 minutes. Food was good as usual but it’s definitely a place to not bring your dates and generally avoid during the weekends.
Loved this restaurant. Food was delicious. Highly recommend.
Always a great time here! food, service, wine - all fabulous!
