Forno Rosso Pizzeria - Dunning
Excellent pizza, good service, just a very different crowd than the west loop location
Forno Rosso is awesome! I lived in Italy and it is just like the pizza in Italy. One of the owners, George, is so nice and kind and always gets to know his guests. Their food is spectacular. Love Forno Rosso!
Perfect! Best pizza anywhere!
Perfect setting to celebrate a birthday!
Pizza, roasted olives, calamari, octopus, focaccia & salad!
Best gluten-free pizza in the city! Now all they need to do is to add a gluten-free beer to their menu.
Great as always!
Amazing pizza, appetizers were fantastic, special's for the evening home made meatballs were fantastic. Service was impeccable, owner came over just to introduce himself and make sure are dining experience was satisfactory, absolutely fantastic all around. This is our new go to place.
This is my favorite restaurant of all time. I’ve never had a bad experience.
Excellent service and food. Owner was very attentive to all patrons. Very busy on a Wednesday night, kept up with crowds well. The seafood appetizer was beyond fresh and cooked to perfection. A little pricey, but worth it!
We made reservations on Open Table for 8:45 for NYE. The restaurant had reservations available until 10:30 that night so we figured that it would be a good choice for our NYE plans. We got there are 8:45 and they looked surprised to see our party of 6 and informed us that the restaurant closed at 9:00! So, our party was left to find new dinner plans for NYE with hours to spare. I’m not sure why so many reservations were available if the restaurant was closing...
We love to come here for pizza! It’s the best pizza in Chicago. We also live the cannoli and the tiramisù.
Forno Rosso never disappoints. We had fried calamari (yum), salad (yum) and delicious Napoli style pizza (yummiest). Forgot ended with the fried dough/vanilla gelato. Can I say a great way to end a wonderful dining experience.
The wait for the pizza was ridiculous...what should have been a relatively quick meal turned into an ordeal. Had to take the pizza to go by the time it was brought to us. It kinda ruined the experience. Really not sure that I would go back.
It was a fun evening for us and friends coming into Chicago. The pizzas are very Italian style with great fresh ingredients. This, however, does drive pricing up a bit. We will return again since it is a fun place to go.
The food was fine. They only have appetizers and pizza, the only pasta dish was a gnocchi and it was not very good...They tried compensating with a complementary nutella pizza for the table, but we felt extremely rushed by the staff and wanting us to be done with our meal so they could use the table for the next patrons. It really ruined our experience. I will not be returning; there are plenty of delicious Italian restaurants in the area that allow you to take your time and enjoy your meal at your leisure.
Service was slow, but food
Great food, people and atmosphere. I would highly recommend it to any and all that love a great pizza. I live an hour away and will make a point of coming by on a regular basis.
As usual, delicious pizza, attentive service!
Food and wine was delicious.
We celebrated my husband’s first birthday with our baby daughter. The staff was extremely helpful in ensuring we were in a comfortable space with our baby. As for the food...authentic Italian pizza...delicious! Desserts...delicious! It was very happy Birthday for my husband.
The pizza, while quite unique, was very tasty; since the crust stays pretty soft, it took some thought as to how to eat it but the effort was well worth it. The most outstanding part of the meal, however, was the Wood Fired Olives that we got as an appetizer. They were "off the charts" fantastic...savory, unusual and delish! My boyfriend and I actually commented that we could just order those as our meal at our next visit and be totally satisfied!
One of the best pizza restaurants in Chicago. Wonderful wood-fired pizzas with thin crusts and a wide variety of toppings with either a tomato based or cream based sauce.
I also recommend their strawberry basil martinis--they are delicious.
The noise level was a bit high for conversation, but the volume was immediately turned down when we asked. It was my third visit to this location and will continue to recommend to friends and colleagues.
Tasty pizza. Great locally sourced ingredients.
Make sure to dress warm if it’s cold outside.
The pizza is amazing!
I had a glass of red wine and pizza. The crust was a tad doughy but it was still good. I'd try it again.
Be sure to sit out of the direct line of the front door. When it is opened, you are blasted with cold air in the winter.
Enjoyed our meal. At times the noise levels made it hard to hear others at the table. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Great pizza and service. Enjoyed a birthday here and the staff went above and beyond.
Best pizza in Chicago! Both locations have great service.
Delicious pizza & appetizers
I have been to both Forno Rosso locations on several occasions, and unfortunately, the service is slow at both restaurants. But my complaint about the Dunning location is that a long hair was baked into my panzerotti. (Disgusting.) The server asked if I wanted anything else to eat, but why would I risk finding another hair in my food?? I wondered why a manager hadn't come to my table, which is expected when any issue arises at an eating establishment. I can only assume that the waitress never informed him (or her). Needless to say, I will not return to Forno Rosso.
I have been here more than a handful of times and the food is always excellent. This time, the food was great, but the service was horrible. I sat for 20 minutes before the waitress came over and greeted me, which was after I asked for help. I noticed she was waiting tables outside, in the main dining room and in the back room, so perhaps they were short staffed for a Friday night.
Great service, great pizza, great strawberry/ basil Martinis - definitely would go back
the [lace has also great 50 people party room to celebrate special occasions
Forno Rosso is a great neighborhood place for delicious brick over pizzas! And, it's much more than that. Delicious pizza? Yes. But they have great appetizers and salads, too. Service is always great, too. We love it!
What a good pizza we had the 4 cheese pizza omg rich cheeesy and crispy crust just the best
Natalia was great. Food was great. I have nothing negative to say.
This is definately THE BEST PIZZA in town! The crust was soft and chewy and just perfect. We had the Carbonara (with the egg on it) and now I am addicted! Just convinced my husband to take me again today!
Pizzas are very good very authentic
Ate at the bar with a Danish colleague. Forno Rosso has been a favorite spot for my wife and me for a long time. We really enjoy the fresh and delicious food served there. My guest agreed the food was great and the restaurant had a relaxed feeling. Thanks!
If you want really fantastic and as close to authentic Naples style pizza in Chicago, then this is the place to eat at. Fabulous selection of pizzas, both white or red, wonderful antipasti and a great atmosphere. Don't deny yourself a true taste of Italy.
Forno Rosso is one of my favorite restaurants. The pizzas are great. We get the Mais and the Rosso Diavolo. We also love the arancinis. We are treated like special friends when we are there.
