Superb food and ambience as always. Super friendly and prompt waiters!
Went to Forno for an anniversary dinner. Martini was excellent as was Sicilian wine. I had the Veal Scallopini which was superb. The tiramisu is outstanding. Served in a cup and more flavorful and creamy than the cake variety.
Very and consistently good. Lively atmosphere. Almost too loud to talk. Service very good, but when busy they get slow, drinks sit, orders lag.
Having done 50 business trips to Italy I can say the pasta is a close to Italy that I have experienced. Tutti Buon!!
We love this neighborhood gem! the food is outstanding, the service is exceptional. The menu is small, but great! You have to try the octopus, the pizzas, the pastas, the desserts!
This is my favorite restaurant in the area. The food is delicious and consistent. The brunch is outstanding!
I promise you will not regret going here for brunch. My only complaint is the chairs should be cushioned.
Great food. Modern interior with lower noise levels. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our dinner there.
We enjoyed our first visit, our server was very attentive and helpful. Portions were good, pizza was way more than “personal” size but tasted good the next day!
We are thrilled we delivered your expectations ! Thank you for your five star review- Happy holidays .
Cincygirl- Thank you for your five star review! We hope to see you soon . Happy holidays .
One of our favorites, great food and atmosphere, always good service too.
Susan - Thank you for your all five star review ! We are pleased to be one of your favorites restaurants. Yes, brunch is awesome too. Happy holidays.
Forno is so close to getting five stars.
My wife had the pork chop and loved it. It was wonderful and huge. She got lunch and dinner out of it the next day as well. She also highly recommends the truffled corn.
I had the veal. It coulda, shoulda been great. However, it was layered with the broccolini and so every bite of the veal had a slight taste of broccolini. I don’t like broccolini. I also ordered the mushroom risotto. It was excellent, but warning: a bit on the sweet side due to the mascarpone cheese.
We shared the gnocchi as an appetizer. It was very, very good. We will probably always order this. Although, I do prefer Cinque’s recipe.
The ginger old fashioned cocktail was great. I also recommend the house Red, it was more than adequate at a great price.
Service was serviceable, they were packed on a Saturday evening. We were seated at probably the oddest table, the far right table on the mezzanine in which a couple sits at 90 degrees from one another. The room is loud. Acoustics have always been a problem here.
I like it. Was a bit loud and slow that night, but we go back- the food is good.
Intimate and fun!
Great experience. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Can’t wait to go back!
Came into town with my boyfriend to go to Jungle Jim’s and we were feeling Italian that night and looked into this restaurant when we saw how many good reviews there were.
We were blown away by our experience. The restaurant is situated in a quaint little village-looking shopping area which was decorated cute for Christmas. When we walked in we were greeted right away and requested a booth which the hostess was able to accommodate us with even though most of the booths were already reserved. We started with old-fashioneds to drink which were what you would expect from one and tasted good as well as got the bread basket which you could tell was freshly made that same day and had a wonderful flavored crust with different seeds on it.
We then both got a Caesar salad which we agreed was one of the best we have ever had. Croutons were crisp and flavorful and the dressing was light with a slight tanginess to it. My boyfriend got the pork chop and I got the veal scallopinne and we shared a bowl of creamed corn. The veal came with broccolini and was nicely charred and half of a grilled lemon which I squeezed into the sauce. It was simply amazing. My boyfriend got the pork chop which was two bone-in fried pork chops that came with cauliflower and capers. It was too much for him to eat. The creamed corn had truffle oil in it which gave it a nice rich flavor and was perfectly creamy- not too runny.
We finished with creme brulee which was also very good and came with sliced strawberries and blueberries on top and was sprinkled with powdered sugar which gave it a nice little extra layer of sweetness.
Our waitress was very nice and knowledgable and made us feel like we had been coming there for a long time. We really enjoyed the ambiance and decor inside and it felt very cozy for a cold fall night.
We will definitely go back if we ever find ourselves in Cincinnati again.
We had higher expectations for a nice evening with out of town family. Our experience was just ok and food took a long time. Too busy for the staffing level they had working on a Sunday night.
Great ambiance and great food!
The food and service were great. However
, there are too many tables packed into the dining area.
Terrible table squeezed in right by kitchen door, creating a very tight space through which there was constant traffic from wait staff. There were other tables available. Ruined what would’ve been a good dining experience.
We enjoy dining at Forno very much! The food is excellent, the service is professional and friendly, and we enjoy the ambiance. We think they recently raised their prices so unless it is a special occasion, we may just go for a glass of wine and a pizza in the future.
Food is excellent! Service very good. But, it is loud. Not a good spot for an intimate night out.
David the bartender was a wealth of information! The service was exceptional. The food was prepared to perfection!
Just a casual evening out with a friend. We tried the bar area for the first time and it was cozy and fun. Love this restaurant!
Great food, amazing service, and a nice atmosphere.
This is our second time to this restaurant and it's my absolute favorite. It was my mom's 90th birthday and we were also celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary. We talked with Chef Christian and he's just delightful - from Florence. We told him that it was the best food we've had since Italy - it's authentic and so good your eyes roll back in your head lol - It's just a magical place.
The food here is awesome. We enjoyed pasta, meat and seafood options at our table and all were wonderful. Don't miss the Focaccia bread with your appetizer or meal - so simple, but so good. Great place for a group dinner or just the two of you. We even saw a table with kids that were enjoying the pizza from their pizza oven! We have also enjoyed their excellent brunch on Sundays. One of the few restaurants that truly makes everything from scratch using the old Italian methods. Highly recommend.
Food and service was just ok. Not much ambience and waitresses and hostess super casual which would be fine if you were in a casual restaurant. Suggestion get rid of jeans and T-shirt’s and add a votive or small vase to create a better vibe
We were trying this for the first time for a late Sunday brunch. The food was excellent but they only had one server (who did a great job by the way)and there were countless un-supervised children and a screaming toddler. It will be difficult for us to return. We don’t want our dining-out dollars wasted on a chaotic, noisy experience.
The server was very patient and informative. We had never been to this restaurant before and he took time to explain the location differences and all of the options. The salad, entree and pizza were great! We will be back for the Tuesday night deal.
The food here is traditional and amazing. Please order the Caesar salad! The wood fired pizza was perfectly cooked and the crust had good texture. Also, for something refreshing after dinner, order the lemon tart. Excellent. The portions were a little on the small side ($9 for two artichoke hearts as an appetizer). Our biggest complaint was the service. Our server came with water then it took another 10 minutes to take our drink order. We went ahead and ordered our meal at that point since we’d had time to look. It seemed like we were an afterthought to her. We could see into the kitchen and she would be staring off at something, we would catch her eye and then she remembered we were her table. Maybe an off night for her but we felt forgotten. At this level of restaurant (read: price) I expect better service. The hostess was very good though, as she kept us informed of the progress of our table (people wanting to talk after dinner). We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation. The food was delicious so overall was worth the wait.
As authentic as I have ever had outside of italy.
Thanks for the great review! We hope to see you back at Forno soon!
Melissa was great. So enjoyed meeting Christian. Food was outstanding.
Thank you for the great review! I will be sure to let Melissa know she did a great job. Come back and see us again soon!
We had a wonderful evening! Forno is Fabulous!
We noticed some of our favorite dishes seem even better than they were before, like the octopus and the gnocchi! Delicious!
Thanks Lori! We hope to see you back at Forno soon!
Bolognese was phenomenal. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience was very disappointing. Two large groups were there, and with little to absorb the noise, it was so loud I could hear little of what my friend was saying. Our table was close to a serving station, and without speaking to me first, a server just push my chair into our dinner table about a foot, in order to get through. I would have gladly moved my chair. Only when he overheard me comment about the rudeness to my guest, did he apologize, but it was clear he wasn’t sorry. Maybe he had a bad day, but should take it out on the customers. So overall, Bolognese was great, but would not go back. Very different from my prior experience.
Delicious meal. The Tuesday night bolognese and salad special in the bar is hard to beat.
Thanks for the great review!
Good food but got a little noisy.
Fantastic food and great service. Homemade pasta!
Thanks for the great review! We hope to see you again soon!
Delicious food, knowledgeable waiter, cozy atmosphere
Thanks Barb! We hope to see you back at Forno soon!
As always, the service was impeccable, the food was of the best quality and quantity. My favorite Italian restaurant in the city!
