Forno Osteria & Bar Montgomery
Best practices in place..hand sanitizer, masked employees, distanced tables, so very comfortable. Outstanding service and entrees..we had cod & braised short rib...delectable! Eggplant side was blah & artichoke side presentation left to us to discover the topping that gave it flavor was on bottom instead of top..tasty last bite on that one. The panna cotta dessert didn’t wow”, but it’s good.
Love this place
Very friendly staff. Great bolognese. Ciangale also excellent. Totally addicted to the focaccia.
We really liked it......
Outstanding service and food! We were a little worried eating in, but social distancing of tables was evident and appreciated. Can't wait to go back.
Great food, great service, as always. I would highly recommend!
Rachel always takes good care of us. Try the veal, yum
Our server, Amy, was outstanding and very accommodating. Excellent job
We did not like the choice of music... it was too energetic and loud 80’s playlist) for the setting. Food was wonderful!
I had heard great things and had high hopes. The food was ok, but generally just very average. Prices weren’t too high, so the value was reasonable.
So happy you are back!! Bolognese was delicious! As was the service!
Forno has excellent food!! I can't say enough about how good their food is....but it's pricey....For three of us, the bill came to $170. I still would have given them 5 stars but they were playing classic rock music (Rolling Stones)...more something that you would hear in a sports bar or casual restaurant. If I'm going to go to a high-end restaurant, I want the music at the same level. I mentioned changing the channel to the staff and she didn't seem too crazy about my request.
Dinner out in front of the restaurant was really perfect! Food was excellent and the ambiance was exceptional.
Very nice experience. Great service and food was amazing as always.
Paul is a great bartender/server! Super fun, helpful, and light hearted :)
Excellent authentic Italian food paired with excellent service
Handled the COVID-19 spacing issue perfectly best meal I’ve had in six months staff was fabulous
Always a pleasure. They never disappoint. Great job with new procedures. LOVE this place.
Forno is one of our favorite places to dine. We are so excited that they have reopened, and obviously addressed the new requirements for restaurants. The food is consistently exceptional, and presented by servers who know their menu and are provide service excellence in everything they do.
We were grateful that Forno's was open despite the protests downtown. There weren't many patrons, so the atmosphere was subdued, as expected. Our waitress, Rachel, wore a mask and was appropriately attentive to our needs all night long. Ordered the special (Bolognese); it came with Artisan bread which tasted like it was baked that day. Good chew, soft in the center, full of flavor. Also ordered gin and tonics and the veal meatballs for appetizers - especially tasty with a nice marinara sauce and what seemed to be pecorino-romano grated cheese. I could have eaten a dozen more meatballs. But, the star of the night was indeed the bolognese - brought to the table piping hot - al dente pasta noodles smothered in red Italian sauce, meat, and cheese. I could not eat it fast enough, although it was very rich - tasted like it was finished with heavy cream. Mama Mia! I took the rest of my portion home and had it for lunch the next day. When they boxed up our leftovers, Rachel had placed it in a large brown bag with a handle because she included a bag of paccheri pasta and a big jar of their exquisite Via Vite bolognese sauce. Apparently, this was their way of thanking us for coming out under some less than ideal circumstances. As for our evening at Forno's, like Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, all I can say is, "Oh What a Night!"
Everything was absolutely delicious as always!!
The place was popping on a Wednesday night. Great food.
Awesome. Will probably skip open table and reserve directly. Great food!!!
Love the food! Service was as would be expected. I prefer the vibe of the Hyde Park location.
We loved it. The menu was very different from other Italian restaurants and our server Jennifer was excellent and very helpful helping us with our selections. Additionally, we loved the decor.
Food was really awesome so is the service
Very good brunch. The pancakes are amazing and we bring our 4 kids here for them. However, we weren’t told they were out of them until we had already looked at the menu for 10 minutes. Would have been nice to know that when we sat down as there is not much else for a bunch of small children to order. We ended up with the French toast for them. And while it’s not a traditional preparation, they ate it. The blueberry compote is amazing! My husband and I enjoyed the Benedict and the Crocca Signore. I wanted the mushroom quiche but they were out of that too.
Excellent food and service.
It was an amazing dining experience. Quality ingredients, best Italian food and exceptional wait staff.
Love the place. Decor is awesome. And our server Rachel was fantastic!
Meaghan was our server for a party of two. She was superb! The food, service and ambiance were great.
Everything was perfect to celebrate my husbands birthday and our very sweet server treated him to his favorite dessert! The cingalle pappardelle was out of this world- just like in Italy! Hi
After several excellent recent dinners at Forno, the last one was a bit of a disappointment. I ordered a bread basket (the only place in Cincinnati I know of where you have to pay for bread) which never came. Sad because the Blue Oven bread is excellent. A Ceasar salad was very good. My wife and I decided to try the pizza rather than a more traditional entree. The eggplant pizza could have been better. The eggplant was cut in large square cubes rather than as thinner slices. Then grated cheese was put on top after the pizza was removed from the oven--much time must have passed because it did not melt and should have been much better than it was. A sausage pizza and mushroom pizza was better, though the sausage is bland compared to what we usually experience on the east coast. We have had the the tiramisu in the past and it is superb. We were handed dessert menus and when the waitress returned we ordered the tiramisu. It was only then that she told us the tiramisu was not available (sad again). This should have been stated when she dropped the dessert menu off. We will try again since it is difficult to get quality Italian food in Cincinnati. Hope they do better next time.
Seats too close together. Noise level high when restaurant was full.
Too many tables in a tight space.
Very good food, and service was pretty good. Tables are too close together. Not much privacy
Being 1/2 Italian, I usually don't eat Italian food outside of the house, because I can usually make it better. But, Forno makes excellent Italian food better than I can. We only had 2 entrees w/ a pizza for an appetizer and one side, so it's hard to judge the entire menu. But, if I had to make a judgement based on what we ate, Forno IS authentic, outstanding and is worthy of another visit!!! Bravo!!!
