Forno Osteria & Bar, Hyde Park
The food and the service was excellent. It’s the best Italian food in the Cincy area.
Light meal this time . Great soup, pizza, and service at the comfortable bar. Perfect on a cold night. Fun watching the young lady working the pizza oven with such multitasking precision. The little our view covered the rest of the kitchen showed great attention to task detail. Forno is the perfect "go to" trattoria for a casual meal.
Food was excellent. Fun evening.
Valentine’s Day - hallie always treats us incredibly well - she is a huge asset to Forno!
Adam was a great service! Food was great! Will return for sure!!
Was hoping for full menu instead of prefix, wouldn’t have booked had I know it was prefix before I got there
Great menu for Valentine's and at a great value. Very fun and great atmosphere
Fantastic meal, great service, and the chef table visit put it over the top.
Thanks for great service and great food Forno!
The food was very tasty and delicious. The portions were very small and very-much overpriced. Would love to eat there again, but there is not enough value or bang for the buck.
Amazing experience as always at Forno! The staff are all super friendly and attentive! Rebecca was awesome and on point! The food is just incredible and we can’t wait to return!
The food was delicious and the waiter was super helpful in choosing a bottle of wine and different things on the menu. He wasn't pushing the most expensive items, but the items we might like based off preferences we'd told him. Between the two of us, we ordered an appetizer (braised tripe) and the bread basket, shared 1 pasta (gorgonzola tortelloni) and 1 entree (veal scaloppine), and finished with a dessert (fritelle di riso). Everything was delicious and it was the perfect amount of food. The noise level was low enough that I could easily hear my partner across the table but not so quiet that I felt other tables could easily listen in. Would definitely come again.
Authentic Italian and great service
I love this place! I moved to Cincinnati a few months ago and this place became one of my favorite places to eat, the food is amazing, the service is always very good, the restaurant is beautiful.
Was in the top 3 best dinners I’ve had in Cincinnati and I’ve lived here since 2011
Great experience! Highly recommend getting there for an early dinner and don’t skip dessert!
Great dinner and Cory, our server was delightful!! Always enjoy the food here.
Enjoyed the Tuesday night special at a high top table with friends. The house Russo wine was good too.
I want to go back & try the minestrone soup.
Usually great food. Unfortunately all 3 pizzas that were served were undercooked
The last two times I ordered the pork cutlet it wasn’t as good as it had been. The first of the two times the sauce was tasteless, the last time the cutlet was tough. I had trouble cutting it with tHe knife. I was surprised both times because Forno had become my favorite italian restaurant in Cincinnati.
Good food. Nice staff. Great neighborhood option.
Food is always exceptional. Our server wasn't familiar with the dishes when I asked a question, but didn't take away from our meal. Great local spot, consistent quality!
Amazing as always!!!
We are big fans of Forno. Quality food at a reasonable price. Service is always great. Atmosphere is nice but comfortable.
Loved the food and the service ... one of our go-to favorite restaurants!
The Eggs Benedict is amazing, perfectly poached egg, English muffin to die for from Blue Oven bakery!! My son had the duck hash and said it was great. The quiche is light and fluffy. Our go to restaurant for Sunday brunch!!
We hosted friends for their first visit and Forno shined as always. Pizza, bolognese, veal and grilled artichokes were perfect. Our waitress kept a watchful eye while giving us time to talk, drink and eat. Our friends are new customers who can't wait to return!
Food is good although you are charged for everything. The waiter suggested some sauce for the appetizer which ended up being a small amount of tomato based sauce for $3. Bread with dinner is an additional charge. Good food but not worth the price based on the a la cartel pricing and less than excellent service.
Loved the food, being an appetite for adventure, some one-of-a-kind dishes. Parking is a NIGHTMARE. Allegedly they have valet, however no one was there.
We had tried Forno in Montgomery and found that to be a much more pleasant experience. Overall the food was very good, but not phenomenal like our other experience. We participated in the prix fixe menu for New Years Eve and felt like the meal was rushed through to flip the tables versus enjoy a celebratory night out. We were in and out of the meal in less than 1 hour and 15 minutes. It took forever to get our drinks, and since the wine list was missing Napa Cabs (our preference and the Montgomery location had a solid selection to choose from), we opted for the accompanying wine flights. Wine portions were smaller than I would have expected and we were often left without a beverage between courses. Overall, we found it to be a let down and we won't be a repeat at this location or on fixed menu night, but will definitely visit the Montgomery location again.
I love Forno, we are regulars who live in the neighborhood. BUT tonight for New Year’s Eve was very disappointing. We made a reservation through OpenTable, so not told it was a Prix Fix menu until we got there. However we received a confirmation message prior, which would have been a perfect opportunity to disclose that information. Then, wanting to have a relaxing evening, our courses and wine pairings came out, from the start, ahead of being finished with the previous course. I expect this at Applebee’s, but not at Forno, where I was paying $85 per person and $25 per person for wine pairing. My entree came out and my husband was only half way through his second course. Additionally our server recommended a full glass of the wine paired with our entree and when the bill came I realized it was a $19 per glass wine! Okay, perhaps I should have asked, but really? $19?? The highest glass on their daily menu is around $13/$14, so I feel that perhaps I should have been warned. Then, because I did speak up about feeling rushed...when our entree (3rd course) was delivered 35 minutes in to arriving...it made the rest of the meal completely awkward. And, at the end, I’m presented with my $310 bill to feel that it was SO not worth it. It makes me sad, because I want it to be worth it. I want Forno to succeed and stay in the neighborhood. But tonight was not worth it and it should have been a special evening given the holiday and how much I was spending.
Disappointed that we weren’t aware of the special menu price when we made the reservations. Although the food was good it was not what any of us would have ordered if the full menu was available-for that reason we were disappointed. We made our reservations on line. The service also seemed rushed.
Great food and service. The bolognese never disappoints!
Waiter was average. Not very enthusiastic or attentive. Everything else was great.
1) Why don't you have lasagna?
2) Portion sizes were kind of small.
One of our favorites!!
My wife and I really enjoy the ambiance and especially the food at Forno. We took our parents from out of town as a Christmas gift. They loved it and could not get over the flavors and presentation of the dishes. We will be back as always.
I am sad to write this review as we really enjoy going out, having cocktails and dinner. The service was good. The server was attentive and gave suggestions and was helpful with our kids. I do not know if I have ever been to a place that charges for bread and oil. The octopus appetizer was tasty and the martini was smooth. Dinner was a disappointment. I received a pizza that I did not order, but kept it anyways. It was just ok, but too expensive for the quality. The pork chop was way to sweet, and lacked a full flavor. This eatery is good if you want just a small, and I mean small snack and a cocktail. Sorry
Food was great and the staff were super friendly!
