Awesome as always!
Always a lovely time at Forno in Hyde Park. The food is delicious and the staff are fabulous.
Adam was our server. He was wonderful....very helpful, attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. We are a group of five women, friends for over 30 years. We meet once a month for dinner. We pick a different restaurant each time. (Our second time coming to Forno). The food as always is delicious. Comfort food! We will be back for sure.
I always love forno, but yesterday I tried for first time the octopus and I need to say WOW, absolutely delicious, a very unexpected mix of flavors with those perfect spicy touches! Cristian is an amazing chef. The service was impeccable as always.
Forno Hyde Park is everything you ever wanted in a neighborhood restaurant. It delivers on so many levels. Ashley, the manager, is extremely accommodating and will work with you for any special occasion dinners. The food is excellent. The wait staff are the best in the city. And the bar staff are amazing!!
Great service, tasty food, great wine
Forno is perfect for any occasion! The staff is friendly and the food is tasty! Highly recommend!
great food....excellent dining.....a holiday favorite
Krista was an excellent server. We shared pizza for an app and it was very good. I had the pork chop which was enormous. I had two meals out of it. It was very good although I would suggest getting the yummy lemon caper sauce on the side so it doesn’t get soggy. The creamed corn and risotto are amazing. Really like Forno!!
Food is good but not great. Pizza was cooked quickly and very tasty. Pasta (cacio e pepe) was ok. The mushroom/mascarpone risotto was very good. Expensive drinks.
We’ve been there many times, and we’ve introduced many of our friends to your amazing food. Out of the many many times we’ve dinned at Forno Hyde Park my first disappointment was with our sever. I invited my former Director to dinner to catch up post her retirement. She’s a foodie and had never been to Forno. When I mentioned it was her first time and prompted the sever to give us a tour of the menu he did Forno a great disservice by not explaining the menu. I wasn’t as disappointed with the server as I was with the manger and chef would would allow an individual to serve their guest without understanding the product or how to effectively represent the product.
The service was the best thing about our experience!
Love this place and the food!!! Great service and fun to sit at the bar!!!!
Food was delicious. Wine was awesome. Dessert was yummy. Portions are a little small for price. Overall great and will return.
We do not eat out very often but we like Forno and come here on special occasions.
We were a party of 4. We shared 2 appetizers: octopus & the cheese dish with pesto & tomato gelatin served with grilled pita bread. Both delicious. For entrees we ordered sword fish, the large pork chops, veal & a margretta pizza. I added pasta to my veal dish. The fish & pork chops were served with veggies. We shared a chocolate desert with vanilla gelato. All delicious. We also shared 2 bottles of red wine. All reasonably priced. We will return. All four of us recommend Forno. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Sidebar: The restaurant is very cold. Wear long sleeves & a sweater. We all kept our coats on!
Enjoyed the energy of the environment and the food was great.
A busy Tuesday night! We sat at the bar; good bar service. Food takes a little longer than you would hope. Bartender is efficient--good at knowing what the bar carries. She seems to have about five hands but keeps it all going. Food is pretty good. My eggplant was served not-hot; if it hadn't been so busy, I would have asked for it to be heated. Kale salad is beautiful, but I'm still not sure what that 'pudding' stuff on the side is for, esp since they don't serve bread with the salad (you order bread). The bolognese special is a good deal, but just too much food. Lots of customers were taking some home. Based on our one experience there, we would go back, but we would order more modestly. But it's clearly a popular local place.
An all-around wonderful experience! We we’re seated right away for our 7pm reservation at a cozy table close to the window. They had a fire going in the fire pit outside to that was really nice. Our server was friendly and prompt. We started with bread for the table and I ordered a cup of the artichoke soup which was soooo delicious. My friend had a glass of the Vermentino which had me lusting after a glass of wine myself. She ordered the Tortelloni and I had the Spaghettini. Both were delicious and fresh! The quality of the food is excellent. I’ll definitely be back again!
Absolutely love Forno... from the food to the staff and the space. It feels like home. So comfortable I just want to stay for hours and chat.
Brunch treat! Bright, comfortable setting. Authentic options. Best frittata ever!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.
Cocktails were excellent - Side-car was superb, my Old-Fassioned was great but a bit on the tiny side.
Veal meatball appetizer, creamed corn, mushroom risotto, short ribs and veal were all really, really, really good.
Wine recommended for the veal was spot-on.
Service was good.
Ambiance was better than I expected. I read from the Open Table reviews negative comments regarding the noise and closeness of the tables. The tables were close but not too close to cause a problem. Noise likewise was insignificant, the walls are wood which absorbs any bouncing sound. And this was a busy Saturday night, so I find no fault with the space.
We had reservations but were first time "guests". We were first offered a table for 2 directly in the front in the draft when the front door was opened...there were many free tables..it was 5:45, so I asked for a table next to the wall ...several were open...Instead we were given a table for two but at least it was not directly in the front door draft...it was cold in the restaurant...it was by 77th birthday...but I did not tell them...do not think I will return....the service was good and the food was good
We love this place. We drive over an hour to dine here. Always great service and excellent food.
Kind of pricey for the little amount of food you get. You really pay for the atmosphere and interesting flavor combos.
New favorite restaurant
Food was delicious. Reminded us of our meals in a recent trip to Rome. Our server was very attentive. We never had to ask for anything.
We started with the veal meatballs, roman style artichokes and the bread basket. All were amazing.
For our entrees we ordered the braised beef short rib and veal scalopinne, sharing the
Wild Mushroom & Mascarpone Risotto. Again all were delicious and cooked perfectly.
Dessert was vanilla crème brulee which was good.
Loved the restaurant. I did feel a little claustrophobic and could hear our neighbors conversations, but all in all it was a good experience.
Great Italian restaurant in Hyde Park. The restaurant is cute and food is outstanding.
Some of the freshest and best pasta in Cincinnati will keep us coming back.
Well prepared and well presented food. Perhaps a step below the quality of food under the previous chef but still very good. Short ribs Entree was excellent but very skimpy which was odd because the pork chop entree was huge—became two dinners for me.
We really enjoy Forno in Montgomery. When we have eaten there the food has been exceptional. For whatever reason, this location is not as enjoyable for us. The room is louder, seems more crowded, and everything smells from the wood fired ovens. We ordered some of the same items that we have had in Montgomery, but they were not as well prepared here. Regardless, Forno Hyde Park is very popular and great for the neighborhood.
Everything was good except the Heir loom tomato dish. Bread tasted old and dry. We think that is the best single dish in Cincinnati, but this time it was not prepared well. Bread wasn’t grilled and it was cold. We love the restaurant otherwise!
Limited to no options for guests with dietary restrictions, and not very accommodating to those with restrictions
First visit, we had great food, great service, but an overall not great experience. Even with reservations they sat us right near the door. It was a rainy, cold evening and the door would not shut completely, so all of us near the door were freezing. Also because we were sitting right near the door that meant that everyone who was waiting for a table was bumping into us or overwhelming us with their conversations.
We loved the food and our waiter was great. I would wait for a table away from the door next time.
This is our go-to restaurant for a fun evening out, whether it's dinner with the family, an evening out with friends, or just "I don't feel like cooking". The food, service and atmosphere never disappoint.
I've been to Forno in the past and the meals were outstanding. However, last night all of the food was under seasoned and overall pretty bland. The best part of the meal was the arugula salad.
One of my most favorite restaurants in Cincinnati. Amazing service as well as food is incredible
Forno is ALWAYS a hit! So glad we have this gem nearby.
My wife and I went for the first time on a Friday night for dinner. It wasn’t very busy when we arrived but took close to 10min before our server came over and take a drink order. The food was mixed. Wild boar ragu was fantastic but was told they had great pizza too. We ordered a margherita pizza. In hind sight we should have sent it back. It was cold, cheese was not melted, and dough was underdone in the middle. One of the worst pizzas I have had. Overall left very disappointed. Needs work on service and food was inconsistent.
