Valentine’s Day is an excuse to enjoy a good meal, at least for my boyfriend and I. As we like the entire experience we also have an extra appreciation toward the outing as a whole considering we work in the same industry. It was our first time in Forno, we made sure we made the reservation because of all the great feedback. Leah was our server, let’s start with that. She was professional, informative, and guided us in the best way. Her description of the menu really set the tone on exactly what to expect and helped us get the full experience! She’s a pleasure and enjoyable to have around. Her timing was impeccable and took her time explaining/answering everything. The food was DELISH! And we loved the exposed kitchen scenery. We will be back and can’t wait to pick up where we left off!
I am a pizza fanatic and the pizza at Forno is in my top 5 in Cincinnati right now - maybe even in my top 1! The Quattro Stagioni was super delicious - it has the best of all three for a pizza - the crust, the sauce and the cheese! Always a very friendly place and really fun to dine at the bar - Hailey the bartender is great!
Always Excellent! Keep up the good work!
We went for brunch, and it was great! Food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was a little slow, but still great. We would definitely go back.
It was noticeably quiet despite the large, open space for seating. The restaurant had a friendly, warm atmosphere and you could see the chefs cooking over the live fire. Wonderful! Service was excellent and the food reminded us of Italy: fresh pasta and pizzas, artichoke dishes, delicious wine. We will return!
We had reservations for Valentine’s Day/birthday dinner. We were not notified about the pre fix menu so that was an unexpected surprise. We spent $175 for two and it felt like an assembly line. We got in at 7 and walked out at 8. Our waiter was average at best - made no effort to engage - never checked on us to see if we wanted another drink. The food was good but not what we would have chosen. The short ribs were really good but the portion was really small accompanied by a smear of mashed potatoes and a small carrot cut in half. Overall disappointed in experience.
Wish we had known that Valentines Day was going to be a fixed menu
Pizza is amazing, and great value for the size. Salads can be quite small and not very filling at all. Wine is also a great value, beers are slightly over priced. Tables can also be quite small, especially for two guests, you can be very close to the next couple. Service is great- they are able to recommend items and help you decide on what to get. Great place! We go every year for valentine's day.
Forno is one of our favorite restaurants. Our only problem is choosing which dishes to order because we like so many of them. The gnocchi are particularly irresistible. But we felt strong enough to resist for once and got the vongole pizza and eggplant parmesean instead. The Caesar salad and artichokes were also excellent, as always. The tiramisu for dessert was probably the best version of this dish that we have had. We always leave Forno feeling grateful that we have this gem nearby. It's comfortable, delicious and reliable.
Ashley is the best!
So accommodating with our large group. We had some last minute additions who made reservations and Forno managed to put as all together.
Fantastic service, door and ambiance. An all around win.
Jamie was amazing! The food was very good!
Great food, great service!
Cold air from front entrance blasted first table. Second table was more comfortable but in the line of traffic. Bread is always a hit. Salads were drowning in caesar dressing. Pasta dishes were very tasty but downtown Italian surpasses experience with similar price point and quality of food. Have chefs or management changed?
Great food, better service made for a fun night.
A favorite go to dinner spot for family dinners , dinner with friends, or business dinners - great food , great service and good wine list.
Great food, awesome neighborhood spot for a weeknight date. Good wine list.
Great food, great service. Will definitely return.
We went for dinner on a Friday night and Brunch on a Sunday morning! It was a quiet romantic atmosphere with great service. Food was all delicious! Specifically the pancakes-YUM!
Our meal especially the octopus was great. Knowledgeable and helpful server.
Ok. Had a reservation yet had to wait over a half an hour.
Eric was our Server and did a great job!
The Hostess did a good job reading my reservation request, seating us off the beaten path!
My 3 guests have hearing issues and very much appreciated being seated away from the front entrance area!!
Foods were delicious and very tasty.
Again-- my guests are picky eaters! And they enjoyed everything.
Mushroom risotto was yummy, a bit salty.
Heirloom tomato and bruschetta was very good.
Other dishes were also delicious-- everyone cleaned up their bowls-- always a good sign !!
Thank you very much.
I will be back!
I have been to Forno twice for brunch, and both times thought the food was overcooked.
One of our go to locations when in Cincinnati visiting. Great Italian comfort food. Table or bar top seating. Great meal every visit.
Top notch service and food as usual!
We always enjoy Forno’s
Bolognese and gnocchi were both incredible!
My husband and I were celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary. Wonderful food! Service was fine- our server did not ask about a special occasion (but did to the table next to us). She forgot to order our salad. She asked to bring the check without offering dessert. More likely to Nicola’s or Sotto next time.
The servers were great when one of us spilled their wine. They were right there ready and smiling.
A much better experience than the last time we were here. Great service at the bar sears we requested — and without a wait. Always fabulous food. Glad for this return trip!
Great service and wonderful food!
The meatball appetizer is to die for
Excellent dinner. We will have to come back and try the pizzas!
New Years Eve.
New Years Eve prix fix menu was delicious, as were optional wine pairings, especially the Negroamaro. We are regulars and we're never disappointed with food, wine-by-the-glass selection or service. One of our absolute favorites in Cincinnati.
This is one of restaurants managed but Chef Cristian Pietoso and he is a super star! The food is always authentic and amazing! I am a regular customer for both business and personal is this a such a great place as well as Via Vite. Note that I have been to Italy many times and lived in Boston before Cincinnati - so I know Italian food.
We enjoyed an early NYE dinner choosing between two options in each of four courses, with wine pairings. The whole thing was well-conceived and well-executed. The menu choices covered nicely the differences between my wife's tastes and mine, and the service was always graceful in spite of NYE volume. We tasted all eight menu options and all were attractive and delicious. It was our second visit, and the experience raises Forno among our eating-out options. Well done to the whole team.
NYE date with my wife. Special prix fixe menu with wine pairings. The food was not as good as the normal menu or chef’s specials. Wine pairings were a miss and mostly if not all from the glass pour list.
Overall good, but not for the extra price and limited choice.
The service and staff were as usual fantastic.
Food was fantastic We look forward to going back
