Tables are practically touching. It felt like I was dining with strangers. The staff were lovely but service was very slow. I ordered a steak to be safe “medium” and it came as a charred hockey puck. The sides were uncooked. For
Dessert we ordered a cheese cake which was really a bowl of cream. It had no crust. Overall the meal was horrible. Other reviews say they try to hard. I say try a little harder!
Fantastic food on all fronts... delicious, unique menu and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was inspirational, cool lighting & tree murals. You'll love it!
Delightfully juxtaposition in courses. Wine pairings unusual and very apt
Food took an insanely long time, table next to us ordered, ate, paid and left before we even got a menu. The server only visited our table 2-3 times throughout the entire meal, had to constantly flag him down for everything. Food was good but nothing exciting.
My husband and I have dined at FORK many times in the past; the last time we were there was over a year ago. It was always one of our special dining treats in Phila; "special feel", great dynamic energy with interesting, well-dressed clientele. The current vibe was different. Much more casual--atmosphere, clientele, etc. Also the menu, while creative, was remarkably more limited than we experienced in the past. Everything we ordered was a delicious, interesting preparation. However, it was a bit challenging to find anything other than fish for us to eat. Our server was well-informed and attentive; overall we had a wonderful time out. However, given the limitations of menu and much more casual atmosphere, it did not feel as special. Don't get us wrong...the food was delicious but from the overall experience, we are not rushing back so soon.
Very nice dinner. We had the four course tasting menu. Although the portions were small, we didn’t leave hungry. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. Would recommend and return for another special occasion.
Still one of the best restaurants in the area. Always wonderful...
Everything was wonderful. The atmosphere is great and so were the drinks.
Fork continues to be one if the best restaurants in Philadelphia for fine dining.
Valentines menu was amazing but the price was a bit high! We sat in the back room used for small gatherings and the ambiance was just not as lovely as the main room. Service was amazing & food quality delicious!
Fork continues to create and serve some of the finest meals anywhere, and especially in Philadelphia. Ellen and her team are superb in every respect, from food to wine to service, and the whole experience is terrific. Ask for a table in the back room - romantic and quiet(er) than the main restaurant.
I do not get to Fork as often as I would like, but every time I do, I commit to myself that I will come back more frequently. The food, service and vibe are truly special. Ellen Yin and her team seem to constantly reinvent a very special restaurant. I cannot recommend Fork more highly.
awesome food, amazing service. real class act all around
Well deserved top Philly restaurant! Amazing meal!
phenomenal food, excellent,w ell orchestrated service. Prices for a la carte are fair.
The prix fix is a little confusing - no real difference in price between it and a la carte yet the portions on prix fix are reportedly smaller than a la carte.
Definitely recommend this place - We will be back!
Great waiter, new food, good ambiance.
Excellent food and service; creative blends of tastes; small plates for the most part, so get the prix fixe. Lamb dishes were great as was the pork. Others had crab salad monk fish tile fish pastas with great praise.
It’s just pricy when combined with two drinks each.
Great place for a civilized and delicious meal! Excellent service and food.
Great attention to detail! Fork called ahead to learn more about our dinner plans. They created a personalized the menu for the special occasion and seated us in the front of the restaurant (i.e. quieter). The food was amazing and the servers attentive. Overall, made for a memorable evening perfect for a date night or special event.
Staff was very warm and accommodating. Really delicious petite appetizers. Everyone enjoyed there salads and entrees, each seemed to have something uniquely delicious that we weren’t expecting.
As always, our experience at Fork was outstanding. The food was excellent, the space beautiful. There were a couple of minor misses on the service, but nothing that would deter us from going back.
Fabulous experience! This cozy and quaint restaurant exudes charm, nestled amongst other cute storefronts close to many of the historically significant sites of Philadelphia. We opted for the prix fix four-course dinner, and we were very glad that we did. Every course was outstanding. Standouts of the night: parsnip soup (comforting and delicious,) black bass crudo (fresh and bright,) duroc pork (STELLAR - 3 magnificently prepared options of this deeply flavored pork. This is a must-try.)
We tried a bottle of Austrian red that paired quite well with all that we had.
Service was gracious and knowledgeable but not stuffy. We loved this place and would love to come back if we ever return to Philly.
I believe Fork is one of the top restaurants in Philadelphia. I love the creativity of the menus, the use of local ingredients and the services is great and friendly.
Sampled the four course menu. Every dish was superb.
Fork always hits the mark. I’ve been coming here for dinner since they opened many years ago. Through various chefs and changes, owner Ellen Yin is simply genius in her vision and execution of what fine yet accessible dining is. Granted, it’s expensive, but everything is perfect. If you want a no-fail experience in every way - food, service, decor, music, this is one of Philadelphia’s best choices. We walked in to be greeted and seated promptly by a charming, friendly hostess. Service is never rushed, and your water is never empty. The waitress was highly knowledgeable about the excellent wine list and recommended a perfect bottle to go with our prix fixe choices. We were warned that the portions are more petite than most restaurants but found that we couldn’t quite finish our main dishes. There is a visiting pasta chef and the pasta course was a dream! Crab salad was refreshing with more of a citrus zing than the usual mayo at most places, dotted with perfectly fresh uni, served on a chilled plate. We had the monkfish and the dorado. Both were large and filling! Well-balanced cheese plate with wonderful accompaniments of spiced nuts, quince (maybe?) sauce, and housemade toasted crackers with harissa. My friend had a custard which she raved about and happily (if slowly) consumed despite already being full. I can’t wait to come back.
Went for brunch and the food was just ok. I would go back and try a different menu but this don't be my go to spot for brunch
The staff was lovely and pleasant. All of the food was absolutely delicious!!! The gnocchi was fantastically decadent!!!! The sunchokes were a perfect counterbalance to the richness of the butter in the dish. I had the apple walnut tart for dessert. The staff was kind enough to offer me a tipple of a dessert wine pairing that perfectly complimented the tart. Thank you to the Fork staff for a wonderful dining experience!
We did the tasting menu and had a fantastic dining experience. Paired wines were a nice treat- the restaurant chose options I never would have that matched spectacularly. Every bite was fresh and delicious, and we had a nice variety of fish and meat. Would highly recommend as a place for a special night out.
(Left this same review in Google Maps): I had high expectations for a restaurant that I had heard for many years was one of the best in Philly. Honestly, I was underwhelmed by the food, drinks, and service w relation to the expensive price of everything. We had the worst table in the restaurant (a random table in a corner not near any other tables— basically a space that should be used as a host’s stand) and had trouble tracking down our server sometimes. Half of the food was excellent but the other half was meh. They were out of several food and drink items that we wanted. Didn’t sit until 8:45 for an 8:30 reservation, and didn’t get our dinner until 9:50. And the bathroom was dirty on top of it all! Disappointed and won’t be returning, unfortunately.
