About Fork Restaurant - Philadelphia

Fork, acclaimed for its contemporary American cuisine for 20 years, features Chef John Patterson's locally sourced and seasonally inspired menu. Part of Fork's allure is its hip, stylish, sophisticated interior, where the dining experience is anything but stuffy and uncomfortable. Fork's hand-painted chandelier shades catch your eye as you look above the cast-concrete bar. Modern contemporary murals painted by Anthony DeMelas accentuate the height of the ceilings. Fork earned Four Bells from Philadelphia Inquirer Critic Craig LaBan.

Great service and food. Delicious but very different. Cocktails were great. Ambience very nice as well. Kind of pricey. I’d go back but only for a very special occasion like a birthday, Valentines Day or wedding anniversary.

What a wonderful experience at Fork in Philly! The service was friendly and impeccable, the atmosphere warm and inviting, and the food unique and delicious. All the dishes are very flavorful and and perfectly balanced, especially the pastas and my unexpected favorite dish, lamb crudo.

The food was tasty and incredible and the service was warm and pleasant. The table beside us was a little rowdy, but overall, it was a wonderful experience and would definitely come back again.

A great value for savory, unique tastes. The tasting menu allows people to experiment with flavors that they would typically not pair. The experience was wonderful, intimate and allowed old colleagues to enjoy an evening at our pace. Recommend as a top pick in Philly.

Fork never fails to impress. We did the chefs menu this time and were blown away - especially the appetizers and pasta courses were phenomenal.

Very nice experience and a good restaurant. Only negative comment is that it is overpriced. Be prepared to pay 25-30% over what a comparable restaurant experience would charge.

Both dishes were very salty. In addition, we were asked to take a seat at the bar because the hostess told us our table was not ready, however, restaurant was not full (plenty of tables) and we were on time for our reservation. When they finally seated us, the same tables were set and available as when we arrived at the restaurant. Fork is now off the list!

From the minute we walked in the door, we were treated as if everyone already knew us. The genuine friendliness and attention was striking. Each person who came to our table could not have been more professional while at the same at ease, helpful and pleasant. They made you feel that they were really happy you were there. We would definitely return to this casually elegant restaurant!

Fork is one of my favorite restaurants in Philly, and it never seems to disappoint. The brunch sausage was excellent, and the duck confit was a nice way to start a Sunday.

We enjoyed an early brunch, they technically weren’t open yet but we asked if we could wait at our table. We don’t mind the final detailing service needs to do prior opening and they graciously obliged. The best parsnip soup I have ever had was nicely presented with tart apple, Brussels sprouts and a crisp shave of celery. Our mains were bitter green salads, satisfying yet I should have ordered more, I was still hungry!
I will go back. Service was excellent.

overall had a great experience, service was on point throughout our entire visit. Food was creative yet not pretentious and portions were fair for fine dining. We will be back again and make this a regular spot for date night and nights out.

Regrettably this was the worst dinner experience we had in Philadelphia this weekend. It started on a positive note with a wonderful pasta dish that was perfect. After that the food went downhill quickly. First, my wife ordered the duck breast that came cold and the presentation was about as disjointed as I have ever seen. We sent it back! My dish was a tile fish which was nicely presented but swimming in a pool of fish sauce and again cold. We sent it back!
Upon returning my wife's duck was warmer but the presentation was even more disjointed. In addition the portion size is something that the Fork should be ashamed of charging almost $40 for. In addition the one bit my wife took indicated it was overcooked.
My fish was a bit warmer but then the waiter pored the fish sauce in front of me which did not enhance the dish. The fish was clearly overcooked and with the overpowering sauce masked the delicate flavor of the fish. We sent this back as well!
The manager was apologetic and offered us the opportunity to order from the rest of the menu but by then we had had enough. He did not charge us for anything which was appropriate considering the horrible food presented.

The soup, very small in portion, was poured from a miniature carafe and was cold and not very tasty. The menu is quite limited and extremely expensive for what you get. The wine list is extremely expensive!! We find this restaurant overpriced and underfed.

Great evening spent at Fork. We opted for the Chefs Tasting. Every course was a delight starting with Oysters and ending with dessert. The gnocchi is not to be missed. Chef sent out a mushroom “tea”. Excellent!!!

Outstanding food, service and experience. Our first time visiting, we each had the chef's menu. Highlight was the pasta course, but all four courses were great. Went on a Monday, so the restaurant wasn't crowded, so it kept the noise down.

There are plenty of good restaurants in the Central Philadelphia Historical District. My wife and I enjoyed a Prix Fixe selection including an appetizer, pasta, main and dessert . The portions were appropriate. Selecting wine for two with multiple courses is difficult. We opted to split a glass of white for the appetizer and selected a nice Priorat Grenache for the mains. Yum.

Service was excellent. This is worth the price of admission.

Worst $200+ dinner date I have ever been on. The food was simply pathetic for the price. I would recommend vetri, or Amada if you are looking for a phenomenal meal that is actually worth the very high price. Fork, step your game up.

We had a nice brunch at Fork. The food was delicious and well prepared. The pasterie basket was delicious, and the steak & eggs was excellent. The experience bordered on fine dining- perfect portions that weren’t overwhelming, were executed perfectly, and were prepared with great style. We would definitely go back. Our next visit will be for dinner.

The atmosphere was great, not loud, very friendly service. We did their high-end anniversary dinner for $100 plus the paired wine at about $50 (per person prices). The menu for this option was a little bit of all of their selections. The food was grandly unique and delicious, and we left very happy. We would pay the price again when we come back to Philly.

I went for 20 tastes of Fork anniversary special. I felt like it was pretty misleading considering our "tastes" were often just a bite, a slice of cheese, a cup of tea, a piece of bread. They could have just advertised this as a 10 course tasting menu. But for the $100 price tag, I expected more protein than a piece of duck breast. Also a bit strange to be served a champagne cocktail in a wine glass.

Wonderful food, attentive waitstaff, Fork is a real Philadelphia gem. Noise level is a bit high, makes quiet conversation difficult. But well worth that slight inconvenience!

4 of us went for a girlfriend's birthday. Menu was confusing and didn't match online offerings. VERY NOISY!! Service was spotty... waiter forgot my drink and asked why I didn't order one, which I clearly had. Dropped a coaster from the bottom of a glass on my friend's dinner. Yuck!! Did not acknowledge. Service was slow, it took more than 2 hours and our bill was over $400. Disappointing considering the quality of the food and the service provided. Our expectations were higher. Would NOT return.

Parsnip soup was delicious. Duroc pork not so much....pork belly, while trendy, is nothing but FAT..ugh! Accompanying veggies were great. Friend had problem with desert...burnt granola. Overall, Fork isn’t as wonderful as it used to be, and is quite pricey for what one gets. Service was impeccable.
