It is rare for even the better restaurants to operate without mis-steps, but Fork is unusual in that regard. Service was delightful, and the courses were well-spaced, the dishes well-thought, prepared and plated. Often one course outshines the others (e.g. apps versus entree, or dessert), but all courses were equally good here. A fun and delightful time, we enjoyed it. While we did buy one of their better bottles, if I had any suggestion it would be for a better wine list.
Delicious food and great service in a very stylish environment
Interesting use of hard to come by vegetables but the combination, the presentation, the dressing and sauces, just didn't work. The chocolate dessert was the best part of the dinner but wouldn't go back again.
Food delicious; server knowledgeable, helpful and prompt.
They add 20 per cent gratuity to every check which is understandable. They write that on the menu. So try to remind yourself they do that because if you don’t , odds are they won’t and you will find you have tipped 20 percent or more on top of twenty percent. It then adds a bad taste in your mouth and creates a disappointing experience when if you remember In hindsight your failure to remember their tipping mandate. The ownership was very conciliatory when the circumstance was later brought to their intention indicating restaurant protocols were not followed in this instance . Too bad bc it is a highly regarded restaurant in which you would not expect this kind of “ lapse “. But rule number one still applies , buyer beware.
The space is lovely but the food and level of service were beyond disappointing. Inattentive, bored service accompanied by average food doesn’t merit the $300+ tab for the meal. Delicate bass was overpowered by a thick, too-heavy sauce; nicely prepared duck breast was accompanied by bland, store-bought-tasting sausage; the cocktails were meh and unimaginative; and when told that the olive oil cake was dry, the server expressed an apology, thanked us for the feedback, then disappeared, only to return some time later to ask if we’d like to keep holding on to our uneaten cake. Kind of tone deaf. The gratuity is included, so we couldn’t even send a message. We overheard the table next to us having a similar experience: “The tip’s already included? No one did anything! There was hardly anyone here!” Tell us about it. At least the wine was good.
Omg the Mezcal Old Fashioned was divine and the brunch was excellent!
I mean...the food. What is there to say other than, mmmmmMMMMMM!
I went with my lady for our anniversary after having been away for years. I had fond memories but was unsure how things may have changed since the early aughts. The food is so well done that we both cleaned our plates. I had the monkfish and she had the duck. Both were prepared perfectly. It's clear this kitchen cares about its ingredients. The artful composition of the dishes is clear in the menu, but when you take a bite, you want to just hold it there for a moment to really experience each flavor and texture. Not an easy thing to accomplish. Overall, a very satisfying dining experience.
Cocktails were average and the bartender seemed more interested in showing off his frantic shaker skills than in crafting a well-balanced beverage. I liked their take on the old fashioned. The other one's I tried, not so much.
We were disappointed in the portions l, definitely plan to order extra or don’t go really hungry for brunch.
Our overpriced bill was messed up and we apparently paid less so we’re called to pay more. I’m my opinion a mistake made by the restaurant should be resolved by the restaurant. Oh and they charged the wrong card that they didn’t get approval for after the fact. Will never dine here again.
Never disappoints. One of Philly’s finest.
Great food, great service, excellent vibe.
Had brunch with our son and girlfriend and had great service and the food was terrific! My polenta with sweet corn and asparagus with a poached egg was sublime. Thanks for a lovely time!
The food was absolutely delicious, and the serving sizes perfect.
Our server was wonderful.
This was my third time dining at Fork and it was absolutely incredible. I started with the Smoked Grapes with Brussels Sprouts and then had the Monkfish for my entrée.
Both were perfect. I chose to sit at the bar and I couldn't have asked for a better seat in the house. My bartender, Wyatt, was the epitome of a fine dining bartender. He was efficient, knowledgeable, attentive without being intrusive and best of all, personable. Super nice guy! This restaurant is gold. Each time I dine here I leave with a happy palate and a giddy sense of anticipation thinking about my next reservation at this indelible eatery.
A great restaurant with excellent food and service.
Our server, Jamie, was the best! It had been a long time since we had experienced such attentiveness from a server. My favorite was the Country Pate and the Pennsylvania Trout...beautiful prepared and served!
Great menus. Amazing wine selections. Staff is attentive and professional. Would highly recommended.
Loved the food and the service. Perfect venue for an intimate dinner or for larger parties.
Everything was nice, but the floors could’ve used a good sweep and mop and rugs a good vacuuming. Looked like it hadn’t been done in days. I don’t remember it looking like that the last time I dined there. Food was great. Overpriced for the amount of food, but still tasty.
My favorite restaurant in town. I make any excuse to go whether that be at lunch or dinner.
Always have a great meal at Fork! Did vegetarian this time and it was delicious.
Outstanding food. Service was fantastic!
Fantastic cuisine and friendly and informative service.
Excellent service and food presentation! This was a beautiful representation of what Philadelphia has to offer, and we will be back.
I was very disappointed, the service was truly awful even though they automatically add 20% gratuity (maybe because they do the service is so bad) .
The food was just o k. , however the restaurant is itself is very nice.
Our meal was truly outstanding from start to finish: great oysters and other starters, an awesome trout entrée to share followed by scrumptious desserts!
We enjoyed our brunch so much! I tried the steel head trout Benedict that was amazing! Our server recommended it and was also very knowledgeable!!! We will be back for sure!!
Outstanding from start to finish! We chose to dine outside for a Saturday brunch on what turned out to be a beautiful day. The day was only enhanced by the delicious food and great service! Standouts were the shakshouka, zaatar danish and tomato panzanella. Highly recommend!
Service is outstanding and the menu is exquisite. Wish there were more vegetarian options.
Outstanding food and service!
After so many years, Fork continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. If you haven’t been and you’re on the fence, don’t overthink it, just go.
Had such a wonderful time celebrating our wedding anniversary! The chef and server took special care with allergies and the food was spectacular. Will be back soon!
We come regularly and love it, the food is excellent and creative, the atmosphere pleasant, the staff friendly. Ellen is the most consistent restaurateur in Philly. Whatever she does shines!
An intriguing menu, beautifully prepared and presented in the most friendly manner. So glad to return!
Thank you for an amazing dinner! Great way to show my Dad his first time in Philly! Thank you all!
Great service, great food, and very accomodating of dietary restricions!
Overall we found the restaurant to be pretentious. My husband ordered the burger medium rare and was told the chef prefers it medium. I ordered the polenta dish and requested they omit the chili peppers. The waitress checked with the kitchen and said it was okay. Then the manager came over to ask if this request was because of a food allergy or preference. I said preference and she said chef thinks you will like it and if you don’t we will give you something else. It would have been customer friendly to say we understand and will omit the chili pepper. We dined at the restaurant when it first opened years ago and looked forward to returning. Our experience was less than satisfactory and we will not return again.
My husband thought it was the best duck he has ever had. The married flavors were outstanding. Next time we go back to Philly, we will go to Fork again.
