Fork - Philadelphia

The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. We had a great evening, felt like VIPs, and look forward to going back.
The food was excellent as always. The restaurant is beautiful. The only disappointing thing was that I had indicated in Open Table that this was an anniversary dinner. When asked by Open Table if I had any preferences I indicated that we would like to be seated as close to the window as possible. When we were seated at the back of the restaurant (which is also an amazing room), and asked if we'd ever dined there before , I knew that none of the information I had entered on Open Table was utilized.
Had gone in with great expectations, left thinking “Really? Average of 4.5 stars? For what?”
The only disagreement that the four of us who went to Fork had was over whether to think of the meal as “average” or “mediocre”.
+ Very nice ambience
+ Reasonable noise level
+ Parking arrangement with near by garage
+ Good cocktails
+ Wait staff was friendly
- The wait staff was not particularly attentive, which was surprising for ho much wait appeared to be there, standing around talking with their peers
- The food was “meh” - clearly Fork is using fresh ingredients, everything was cooked properly (kudos on how moist and tender the pork chop is) but nothing stood out, nothing showed any unique flair or interesting difference that made it “Fork’s version of ...”. Back to the pork chop as example, I remember how moist and tender it was, but the flavor of it? My overwhelming memory is bland, dull.
- Ellen Yin asking if we were ready to have our plates cleared, and when we said yes, saying “l will get someone to come do that” and then hovering there until a member of staff showed up. Later it came up that all four of us had had the exact same thought, “with our having said ‘yes’ either start to clear the dishes yourself (even if you are the co-owner) or leave and go get someone; don’t just stand there seemingly doing nothing”. It was distracting having her just standing there, and, I know it may sound strange, but she came off as rather imperious
Overall, just don’t get the hype.
Alway great - to bad they discontinued the duck - was a favourite- looking forward to seeing how the new chef performs . Great drinks food and service-
Service was perfect. Made sure we had enough time for our party to arrive. Served water and then sparkling water. Food was amazing !
Rocks! The food, the service, the ambiance! The whole 9 yards gets a perfect 10.
Food was Luke warm. Sommelier spilled wine in our food. Three scallops for main course!!! Ended up leaving and going elsewhere as we were still hungry
Overall - fantastic. Look forward to going back one day, even though I am not local to Philly. Two friends recommended Fork, and their two-person duck meal. I was excited to try...and then learned that the new chef was no longer preparing the duck. However, the server made it up to us with a portion of the crudo- which was light and refreshing - elegant. We also enjoyed the cheese and crackers - a sesame cracker with goat cheese. Lovely to see and to eat. The tempranillo bottle I ordered was the balancing act of the meal and just fantastic. A very good choice on the menu, and a reasonably priced bottle. I enjoyed the risotto, and my dining partner had the scallops. Everything was excellent. The butter was soft, the water plentiful. Great service. Oh - the 'long hots' - were fun...but scalded our mouths! They were of varying heat...so hard to be brave to eat more of them. But a fun experience with the two kinds of dips with which they were served.
Great celebratory meal.
Everything was very nice. Food excellent! Only mix up was our OpenTable reward confusion which staff had some problems with. Also, the small scoop of strawberry ice cream was sour and just not right. Otherwise , all was great!
Great food, great service.
Fantastic food and service! We really enjoyed and will return when in Philly.
Service was a little uneven and wine/cocktail selection was nothing special but the food was OUTSTANDING. Very sophisticated flavors and allergy friendly. Some serious talent in that kitchen, I will definitely eat there again next time I’m in town!
Very good experience at Fork. We started with the goat cheeese and crackers. For the main course I ordered the scaloops and my husband, the sweet corn risoto. Both delicious. Although I do not eat red or withe meet (only fish), I will return to try the cauliflower.
What a great experience. Service was great and the food was awesome. We tried the oysters, scallops, salads and the “ steak for the table “. There were 4 adults in our group and the steak was plenty for all us. We also had a red Italian blend for only $60 a bottle. Very reasonable for an excellent wine.
The food was outstanding. Nothing disappointed from the sweet corn risotto, to the scallops and halibut. The salad and the crispy potatoes were the surprises of the night, both were excellent and I would go back just for them. The one drawback is price, it is all expensive.
Very solid restaurant! Nothing incredible but solid and great dining atmosphere too
Never anything but tasty and innovative
This is a lovely restaurant. The service was excellent. Attentive yet not over-bearing. I loved the risotto with the pop of texture from fresh corn kernels. Sitting by the open doors to the sidewalk was a fine way to people-watch and enjoy an August's summer night.
Goody son’s last day with us. We enjoyed our dinner quality originality and service.
Good restaurant! I had fun bringing a family member who was visiting Philly. We had a pleasant experience - service was great, food was yummy, and it was a nice ambiance (not too loud, and no rush to turn tables). Thanks!
Food is exceptional and so is the service!
Our server Peter was excellent and the food was superb. We had several small plates to share and entrees for each. Drinks were terrific! We can't wait to be in Philly again so that we can revisit Fork.
Fork was a great experience for me and my guests. Great ambience, very helpful and friendly staff, and absolutely perfectly presented food with flavorful renditions. Hslinbut, Pork, and Cauliflower were awesome, and side potatoes fantastic! Too full for dessert!! Bravo!!
Loved it! The food was fresh and healthy!
Outstanding food! Absolutely amazing.
I was dining alone and the waiter suggested I order the branzino. Sounded good until it came out and I saw it could feed an army! Why would you suggest a lone diner to order something that could feed 2 or more people?? Trying to get someone to order the most expensive dish is not the way to market a restaurant, the quality of the food should do that. I felt tricked by my server and I don’t recommend anyone to trust their servers!!
This place has fabulous, creative and well prepared food. Dessert did not disappoint!! A must eat in Philly.
Dining at Fork is an experience. Service top notch. Creative menu. Could use just a few brews on tap.
noisy where my wife and I we're seated close to kitchen...oysters were so tiny they shouldn't have even been on the menu...other than that ....meal was excellent and we'll be back 👏
Took my daughter for dinner food was good atmosphere was great. $156 for two of us seemed like a lot for what we eat. But everything was good. Do t think I will go back though.
We had a great experience at Fork! Our food was excellent (we were big fans of the sweet corn risotto, the pork chop and the cherry bomb). We had our toddler with us and the staff was really kind and accommodating about bringing her food out with appetizers, boxing up our dessert when she got a little impatient, etc.
Staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgable. The food was paced well and oh my goodness was it delicious. Would highly recommend.
I came for brunch during a 98 degree day. I was seated immediately but it took 55 minutes to be served! I had to ask what was going on in order to be served. The Croque Monsieur and potato skins were delicious and reasonably priced. Waitstaff had issues.
Lovely brunch with attentive wait staff. Would definitely return!
Very pleasant and attentive staff. I received a wine recommendation from the waiter and I did not care for it, and the team was very nice about allowing me to make an alternate selection. We enjoyed the experience and will certainly recommend.
Sat at the bar and had happy hour. Bartender was lovely and accommodating, service was excellent, food was delicious. We had a very nice time!
Outstanding service and food. Truly a first class dining experience.
Thank you for a special time.
Excellent service from the time we walked in the door
Service rushed the meal making it unrelaxing.
Very attentive staff, excellent food. Great experience. Can’t wait to go back.
