The waiter and host/hostess were excellent. Great service, but the food was not as described. We got the pain perdu, which was described as having almonds, lancaster maple syrup and ricotta. Well, we got something with sour and awful tasting RHUBARB! I suggest that the menu items describe what is served. If we had know that there was rhubarb, we would have never ordered it.
Get the duck! Beautifully presented and outstanding.
No flaws. Every course and every suggestion by our waitress was spot on.
Very disappointing. Have been to fork before and loved it. Went there to celebrate a graduation. Food was horrible. I ended up sick for two days afterwards.. expensive meal, not worth it.
Hoping we just went on a bad night since a majority of people rave about this place. We do tasting menus every so often, but this was pretty disappointing. We work in the service industry, so it's not like we don't get how the sausage is made.
Took 20 mins after we got there to sit us. Server didn't introduce himself or offer to explain the menu. Most dishes, including the risotto and halibut were pretty tasteless.
The restaurant itself was nice, but I can name 10 others in philadelphia where I'd prefer you'd shell out for a nice meal.
Nothing was great but nothing was bad.
First time we were at Fork which came highly recommended with great reviews. I was very disappointed as the menu is very limited with not many choices and rather eclectic. It's a beautiful setting but the food is not worth the price and not that great. I had expected much better based on reviews.
Every dish was delightful. The smoked mussels on toast were scrumptious. The mushroom risotto was perfect. And when the halibut was served, I was in heaven. I will definitely be back. There’s more on the menu to experience.
We Loved our Brunch today on Mother’s Day! Two grandchildren came and they offered meals
for them also. The Owner/Head Chef , Ellen Yin, stopped by our table and went out of her way to make our visit memorable! We had the special Mimosa board which was fabulous. The fruit salad with biscotti was fresh and tasty along with the french toast and Quiche. Very fresh and buttery oysters. The pastries were amazing! Especially the chocolate croissant! Everything was so delish!
Fork continues to be one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia. The food is always superb, the ambience contemporary without being precious and friendly and efficient servers. One of our favorites!
Really amazing and unique food. Extremely flavorful and fun. Great fine dining establishment.
We had high hopes for Fork. First, the good: the front of house staff is really friendly and professional. It’s a very cool space, with a nice design and a neat bar area. They have a very interesting and well-curated wine list.
I can’t make a blanket statement about the food, I will only say that what we ordered was, in a word, disappointing. A plate of oysters from Cape May, NJ had a taste reminiscent of the mud in Barnegat Bay. This we mentioned to the owner/manager when he came to our table to inquire as to how we liked the experience. We went on to discuss the wine list with him after which he brought us an absolutely delicious Nero d’Avola blend which was the highlight of the meal. Oddly enough, even though he passed by our table a number of times during the rest of our meal, he never once inquired about how we liked the wine, or anything else, for that matter.
Along with our mushroom risotto, which was flavorful and nicely cooked, the waiter brought us a “special treat” from the kitchen in the form of a strawberry gazpacho. This was a strange melange of flavors and textures that didn’t go particularly well together. We weren’t being charged for it, so neither of us felt particularly bad about leaving most of it in the bowl.
Our main courses were probably the most disappointing part of the meal. The scallops entree was three scallops on a bed of polenta that was so salty as to be inedible. I had the suckling pork. After a back and forth between the waitress and the kitchen in which we were told that there were no more orders available unless I wanted to order a portion for two (?) and then were informed a few minutes later that a serving had been secured for me. I wish it hadn’t. It was a rather bland piece of pork with a skin that was not crisp enough to be tasty.
Maybe we just caught them on an off night, but it was really disappointing to drop $300 on a paltry amount of subpar food.
The food was exceptional' creative, very tasty and cooked perfectly. My out of town guests were impressed with the quality of the food and it's beautiful presentation. The service was excellent.
Our only caveat was the noise level, which was high.
I alwys recommend Fork for special occasions, but also for a regular, enjoyable night out.
Excellent restaurant - high level of attention to food quality, food preparation, food presentation, and patron service. Everyone at Fork wants you to enjoy not only your meal, but the entirety of your time at their establishment. A wonderful dining experience.
My wife and I attended Fork this past weekend for our anniversary. It was fine but not fitting for a top restaurant in Philly designation. I have seen Fork listed on may sites as a top restaurant for a few years but we were not able to get there prior. Overall, I felt it was average for a high end. Like others they do the complementary snacks from the chef where certain bites come out that were not ordered. Overall the the flavor profile on these didn't gel. Maybe we caught a bad night but I have been to a few places with the same format and felt that the food was much better. The servers were very nice and did a nice job. We had a first seating and the servers were still in their "meeting" when our reservation time came so the bartender help them out and took our drink order. very nice to see the teamwork present to serve the customer. Overall, while fine for a nice meal, you can do better for your dollar.
Enjoyed Saturday Tea at midday. Fork was quiet and the tea service was attentive and relaxed. We did not feel rushed at all; we able to enjoy eachother's company and wonderful tea selection at a casual pace.
Service was great. Ambiance is nice. Food was soooooo good. Best meal I’ve had in years. Cocktails were also delish. The crab salad was amazing and so was the haddock. Highly recommended!
Food, cocktails, and service were amazing. Great setting and ambiance for a date night.
Culinary Nirvana. A totally superlative experience. One of the most delicious dinners that we've ever had anywhere, and we do lots of dining out. Attentive and friendly service and a beautiful space. Who could ask for anything more?
Excellent service from the host, bartender and server.
Great American cuisine -- we both had seafood (halibut and scallops) and both plates were beautifully presented and delicious. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. Will definitely return.
My sister and my self were celebrating our birthday’s. The tea menu and the teas were excellent. I’ve had tea in London many times and Fork is the only place in Philadelphia that actually measure up. The server made sure we received something special for our celebration. Wonderful place.
Aunday brunch was a mixed bag. Nothing crazy. Atmoshpere and service were good. Entrees didnt quite match menu descriptions. The toast was warm bread with a burnt crust. The dishes came out of the kitchen very quickly as if they had just been plated and waiting to come out when someone ordered them. The cocktails were good and did pair well with the food. Overall, would probably not return here for brunch.
Asked for a medium steak - was told it would take 50 mins - which was fine - however it arrived after 30 mins and was rare!
Every thing was delicious. Must mention that both bottles of white wine we ordered were far too warm —- not something that a restaurant at this price point should ever allow to happen.
This is one of the finest restaurants in the city. The food and service are top notch. This is a must try.
The food was very good but the temperature was Luke warm.
Ordered oysters which were excellent but mignonette sauce was bland. Partner ordered risotto which was over-salted and over flavored with tarragon. I ordered gnocchi. The most disappointing. Too mushy and no flavor in the sauce at all! The only thing i could taste was the broccoli. Our waiter was adorable as were many of the other staff flitting around.
Took my boyfriend there for his birthday and had a wonderful meal. Service, food, drink, ambiance, all outstanding. Definitely go here.
Small menu but delicious! Service was a little slow but very helpful on menu knowledge and opinons.
Our two main dishes were truly outstanding. We both wished there were more salads and side dish options.
First time visit, we came for dinner, Easter Sunday. A Wonderful experience! Excellent food, service, and atmosphere!
This was my first return visit to Fork in several years. The place is as lovely as ever - those chandeliers! - & the service very attentive, but the food was so-so. Seriously overpriced, & not wonderful. And rather limited. A dish of risotto with mushrooms had very little flavor & very few mushrooms. It was a disappointing meal, altho the ambiance was still pleasant. I probably would recommend it to others, but with a warning.....
Easter brunch....mimosa flight creative and great... shrimp cocktail soggy and limp....Pretty disappointing and kind of gross.
We went to Easter Brunch. Two courses for mid $30s, with and tea an extra charge (come on!).
There were decent selections for both courses, and we enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, mint salad, grilled sausage plate and the Croque Monsieur sandwich. The latter, however, was on extra thick bread and so we were surprised to have an extra dump of carbs on the plate (fried potatoes) rather than something more green. Staff was attentive.
This was a great place for Easter Brunch. The service was outstanding. The ambiance is lovely, too.
We came here for dinner, they were great in being able to accommodate our change in dinner time but it may have been because their staff suck and on a Saturday night they were not packed. I went here because of a Beard nomination but never again. My friend is a bit of a picky eater and asked the waitress what I thought was a reasonable question. Well she got an attitude and even asked him if he knew where he was. After that comment she proceeded to ignore him the remainder of the time we were there. Not the friendliest of waitstaff for sure. The food was OK but definitely did not live up to the price point. We won't be back.
This was a truly great dining experience.
Enjoyed every aspect.
Spectacular dinner! Ed is an awesome manager for Fork! He takes care of watching that the food and service are great! Everyone working there seems happy and want to make the guests feel special. The best dining experience!
