I had been to Fork twice in the past couple of years and wasn’t impressed despite the glowing critic reviews. Thought I’d give Fork one more try for Restaurant Week. Well, Fork hit it out of the park this go-round. Delicious gourmet cuisine at bargain prices. Especially enjoyed my libation “flight” of bourbon, followed by pinot noir and an after dinner digestif. I hesitated on the “ambiance” category as we dined outdoors because of the pandemic. There was a demonstration marching down Market Street past Fork with demonstrators, police on bicycles, helicopters hovering with spotlights—depending on one’s political point of view—that atmosphere could be frightening or energizing. No matter what our evening at Fork was quite interesting, both culinarily and politically!
We went for restaurant week in September 2020. The food and service was absolutely amazing. The Rib Eye steak was to die for. The steak is designed for two people and there was more than enough food. It was so abundant and delicious that we took the rest of it home.
We were seated outdoors and the weather was beautiful that day. The ambiance and decor set up outside was perfect. I would definitely recommend for a date or special occasion.
Excellent restaurant week menu! Squash and shrimp app, swordfish and hazelnut dessert. Oh and I had My first digestiv cocktail.
First chance to outdoor dine with a favorite spot. Appetizers and main dishes creative and enjoyable. One dessert (an almond cake with homemade ice cream) very good. Other ice cream dessert not up to standard. Overall, did not expect the experience dining on the sidewalk would be so relaxing. Well done
Great service & cool food choices but both of orders were very salty. We loved the flavorings and fresh herbs but needed some rice to cut the salt. If you like eclectic this is your place. Just order some pilaf on the side.

Fork was closed due to the shelter at home edict for Philadelphia. I base my review on prior experiences. We will return to Fork as soon as we are able.
Outstanding service made all the difference in an exceptional dining experience
The second time I have ben to Fork in as many months for brunch, and just as nice an experience both times. The food was excellent, the service quick and attentive but unobtrusive. The setting is pleasing and interesting, and it is fun to see the kitchen and staff working away at the food preparation. All in all a terrific choice.

I love the look of FORK but was disappointed by Sunday brunch. We ordered Bloody Mary’s which were undrinkable, they looked black and were peppery & terrible. The restaurant agreed something was wrong. The replacement bloody Mary’s or marginal but freshly made. We also ordered bacon, which smelled old & we sent back. Hope it gets better.
We were looking for something last minute and ended up choosing fork for the location and could not have been happier! Great vibe, excellent service and the food was outstanding. Would definitely go back!
We had a delicious meal at this lovely restaurant. Every one of the wait staff were superior. The wine steward was knowledgeable and helpful; the waitress was a delight. My husband forgot his jacket and they called as soon as we left to let us know. I returned call after they called and two different people called to let us know how to get it the next day. An all in all great experience.
We were a table of four and every dish was absolutely delicious. Service was top notch and wine suggestion by our server spot on! It was so great we went back the following night too ( table for 2)!

Overall, our experience was very good. We did not plan to have this meal but suddenly decided to go when we saw there was a reservation open and we were leaving a get together (without food). Without any expectations (other than that it’s been considered one of Philadelphia’s top restaurants for over 20 years), we enjoyed all of the dishes we ordered and the service.
The staff was great but the food was disappointing. I ordered their steak, which was only 6 ounces, and a large part of it was hard fat. The steak came with potatoes and carrots. The carrots were inedible.

If one orders wisely, and likes to share tastes of their plates, one can get out of FORK without breaking the bank. The three of us ordered the fois gras (very rich, but small portion) and beef tartare (very filling) appetizers to share - just the perfect amount before getting into the entrees. Salmon, wagyu beef and the prawns (especially the heads - served separately) were delicious. Service was very good, but found our conversation interrupted too often with all the "Checking in to make sure you're enjoying everything" by more than just our waiter. Small complaint for a lovely evening.
The service was unreasonably small for such a small space. The price point was high given a meal that was average in taste, but nicely presented.

A new chef, a few alterations to the design, and Fork is continuing its remarkable run as one of the city's best restaurants. Jeremy Hansen is a worthy successor to Terence Fleury, Eli Kulp, and John Patterson, with his own perspective on ingredients and preparation. We loved the mussels with two kinds of sausage, the gravlax with mustardy cream cheese and rye bread, and we shared the enormous plate of venison served for the table. Next time, we want to try the halibut and the duck. Our server, Maggie, was outstanding, too, and the wine list is quirky and delightful. We can't wait to go back.

This was my second visit to the restaurant. I enjoyed my meal both times good was fresh and flavorful. When we return to visit Philadelphia again will absolutely come back to fork. Thank you for a wonderful meal.
The wine list and drink menu were limited and the service was not good. The food overall was good though.
Food was outstanding— fluke, salmon and wagyu steak. Same for hors d’oeuvres and dessert (especially peanut butter crisp!). We sat next to open kitchen— clean, multiple servers worked with utmost precision/efficiency. Smooth operation. No significant noise, no heavy odors.
And this was topped by an outstanding server— Maggie.
We had held off coming back for more than 1.5 years because our last experience was so disappointing. We decided to try again after close friends said they had a wonderful meal recently. We returned and are so glad we did. It was a 5 star dinner and evening! Definitely will return... soon

Best restaurant I’ve eaten at in Philadelphia
Excellent in every way-especially happy with the timing of courses, which is often difficult in multicourse meals.
Ellen and her team operate what is the best and most consistent restaurant in the city. The menu for Valentine’s Day was terrific, the wine options were great and the atmosphere just right. Even the soundtrack for the evening was well matched to the day and place. We love going here and highly value everything she does to keep the restaurant in fabulous form.
Back to form! Bravo! Every Valentine bite was delicious.
We loved this for Valentines Day. One of us has a steak that was a little undercooked, and they quickly fixed it for us AND brought us each a glass of sparkling wine as an apology, which was totally not necessary but a lovely gesture. The food was delicious; the sturgeon and caviar especially was wonderful. Highly recommend.
