Always enjoy our time spent at Fork & Barrel. Delicious meal and the drinks (Manhattan and Emily's Garden) were great! Looking forward to our next return.

Bad experience, 3 strikes and you're out: 1st strike - particles/dirt floating in water glass, 2nd strike -fruit fly in cocktail, 3rd strike - hair in appetizer. We politely asked to pay for our drinks and leave. They did comp our drinks and appetizer and apologize. Won't be back...

The atmosphere and the service staff is welcoming, but the biscuits and gravy was really soupy and bland. Had ate here another time and got the breakfast sandwich, it was really good.

We dined at Fork & Barrel the for the first time after they opened on hteir second night. We brought friends back with us for Derby Night 2017. This past weekend we brought friends who had never been before and they loved it. Every time we have dined at F & B it has been fabulous.

I love the ambiance. Our server was really attentive and great. But the food was just okay overall. The appetizer F&B dip was amazing. Absolutely divine. But the chicken entree was so dry that I sent it back. We also ordered a filet medium and it came out medium rare, which is better than overcooked, but I was too nervous to send it back. We had the smores dessert. It was dry and just not good. I love the location, love the atmosphere, love the half priced wine, and the service is good, but I was underwhelmed by the entrees and dessert.

My review would have been better if the Chicken and Waffles had been available. I got the Hash and was disappointed in the portion size and I'm not even a big eater. Also, the service we received could have been better. We are planning to go back for dinner sometime because we really appreciated the atmosphere of the restaurant and it was easy to talk without feeling like we had to yell at each other.

Fun decor. Interesting menu. Food was very good, especially the beet salad and short ribs. Our only complaint was that the food was barely warm.

We were greeted and seated promptly. However there was a six minute delay before our server came over. She was cordial but not very warm and welcoming. Overall, service was efficient after the initial delay. Our drinks were kept refilled, dishes were cleared, and there was only a brief delay in processing our payment.

The food was amazing! We split a salad wedge, which fad a great balance of sweet, salty and tangy. The tomato jam was a great addition. We ordered shrimp and grits and the short ribs as entrees. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and tails were removed, which made eating this fish a lot less messy. The fried okra came in strips instead of small rounds, and gave a lot more okra flavor. The grits were creamy, and the ham and sausage added great flavor. The short rib was so tender it practically melted. It was served with some of the softest, most flavorful gnocchi I had ever tasted. They were browned and slightly crispy on the outside and almost creamy on the inside.

The Executive Chef made several appearances and was very interactive with guests.

It was our first visit and we are definitely going back.

Great food and service. The only thing that I would recommend management is to keep an eye on the cleaning . Underneath of our table there was a lot of crumbs, crayons and trash probably from the previous guests. It takes away from the customer experience. Otherwise food price and service was very good.

We went for Father’s day with a party of 4. They wedged us into a little table behind the hostess stand. We asked the hostess to be moved and were told that they could not accommodate since all the table were otherwise reserved. Contrary to the hostess’s statement, throughout out our meal, numerous four tops sat empty. Wait staff was generally rude during the entire affair. We advised we need another moment for one of our party to decide what to eat and it was ten minutes or more before she circled back to our table. We had to ask for ketchup twice and could not get anyone’s attention to bring us other items we needed. They get a 2 star rating because the food was excellent. It is a shame that the service was not.

This review will be short because so was our time at Fork & Barrel. We arrived on time for our reservation and was promptly seated. Water was immediately brought to our table. We then waited 15 minutes without being acknowledged by anyone. We had a couple of waitresses pass our table multiple times. The restaurant was not even busy at that time. At that point, we got up, left the restaurant and had dinner down the street at another restaurant.

This was our first time dining at Fork & Barrel. We started with the French Onion soup and garden salad. You will not find a better French Onion soup! For dinner, I ordered the scallops and my husband ordered the stroganoff. Both were excellant. We will certainly be back!

Fork and Barrel was new to four ladies who were looking for a place to eat before we set out to make an 8pm Hamilton show. We were aiming for a local experience, good food and a relatively quiet environment. We hit it all with Fork and Barrel. Outstanding service was a highlight along with appealing drink specials, some unusual and tasty menu offerings. The brussels sprout salad was uniquely delicious and although small was filling enough since we had ordered an appetizer and dessert. There are so many restaurants that try so hard and get it wrong. Fork and Barrel gets it right. I would highly recommend it!

This was my first experience with this restaurant. In fact, none of our party had eaten there before but knew it had a great reputation. Fork & Barrel did not disappoint! The food was wonderful and we enjoyed the ambiance. The owner/chef took great interest in our experience and stopped by several times to check on us. I highly recommend this restaurant for a dinner out with friends.

The server was outstanding and his knowledge of the menu was extremely helpful. The service was outstanding and very, but not overly, attentive .
The food was very good and I have no complaints.
BUT, I was really surprised when I received the bill that we were charged $ 2.00 for 5 or 6 small pieces of BREAD!! REALLY !! Very chintzy.. Also the bar prices for bourbon are way out of line with the competition. You should "shop" your competition up & down Frankfort Ave and I think you'll find that on average your prices are $3.00- $5.00 more for similar pours. Another example, on my previous visit I was surprised that I was charged $ 19.00 for Weller 107( my fault-I did not ask ahead of time) We went to DeFabios last week for a Birthday celebration & I couldn't believe that they only charged $ 11.00 for the same pour.

I would recommend your choices above should include a "maybe" or" perhaps " in addition to the simple yes or no.

This was our first time going and we will definitely be back. We had ten people in our group and we hung around the bar prior to being seated (even though the table was promptly ready when we arrived for our reservation). The bartender was very knowledgeable and everyone enjoyed a tasty cocktail prior to being seated. The waitress was excellent - always ready to get us another cocktail or to take our order! And it's so nice to go to a restaurant and have so many wonderful choices from a great menu. And to top it all off - the food was absolutely amazing. Everyone in the party loved their meal and this will become a regular place for my wife and myself (and probably everyone in our party).

Service was exceptional. Our server, Danielle took very good care of us. The crab cakes have more crab instead of cake--in stark contrast to most places. The crab cakes were amazing. My girlfriend had the scallops which she enjoyed. I had the pork shank which was true to the character of the meat. The tiramisu wasn't as good as the nearby competition, but was well presented. We finished our shared dessert nonetheless! The half-price drinks from 4:00 - 6:00 are a great value. A great place to go for a date night or any night for that matter.
