We came for brunch and really enjoyed our experience at Fork & Barrel. The food was yummy and the service was very solid. It's located in a nice neighborhood and street parking was not a problem at brunch time. We will come back!

Service was amazing. The good was delicious. It is a small, quaint space. The music was not too loud so you could have good conversation. Our server (wish I could remember her name) was wonderful. She had great recommendations about food and drink. She was attentive without being overbearing. Great atmosphere, great food, great service. Will go back for sure!

Excellent. They accommodated my special requests of an appetizer, salad and vegetables from the special of the night. All arrived together as requested. Food and service was delightful. Owner/chef worked the diner, greeting all eating. Nice touch. Highly recommend Fork and Barrel!

Great dirty martini! Service was a little slow and our appetizer, which we’d had before and loved, came out after our main course...cold. It’s better hot. Service the first time was spectacular. We’ll try it a third time for good measure.

The maragrita was very good. I ordered the Taco Tuesday special which happened to be Salmon belly tacos with tortilla chips and also ordered a separate dinner salad. The food was good- however the appetizer ( dinner salad) was underwhelming and expensive for what was presented. Salmon was tasty. My dinner guest had the Pork with peas and carrots and also a salad. I tasted the Pork and it was good but a bit dry. When we made the reservation on OpenTable we said we were celebrating a birthday but no mention was made of it when we dined there - I guess they don't partake in special occassions and that is ok too. The draft beer was also too expensive at $8 per glass it is higher than average. The check for 2 people was about $70 for a modest meal on a Tuesday night. Overall, the menu was interesting and used lots of veggies so great if you are a fan of cauliflower, beets or kale. Glad we tried it out- like to support local restaurants but a bit unimpressed. Maybe would consider going for just a happy hour drink or 2.

Took the fam to Fork & Barrel today for the Star Wars brunch. I made a reservation on open table. We arrived 15-20 minutes early. Our reservation was at 1. We were seated at 1:20. We sat down and there were stemless wine glasses with fake candles as centerpieces. My kiddos were enamored and wanted to play with them. I took the glasses and put them to the side of the table behind the stand up drink menu so my kids wouldn’t bother them. When the waitress came to our table, she removed the extra water glasses and I handed one to her to try to be helpful. When I did, the stand up menu fell and knocked the centerpiece to the ground. People looked at us and the table behind me said, “accidents happen with kids.” I tell them that it was actually me that made it happen. I offered to clean it up. They didn’t take me up on it. Our order was taken at about 1:35. At about 2:00, we receive our food. I’m so frustrated at this point, but choose not to say anything. The place was crazy busy. But, the. The check comes. The waitress says that she has to charge us for the centerpiece. It was four dollars but felt like a punch to the stomach. I’m furious that it took so long to eat, charges insane prices and CHARGES ME FOR THE STEMLESS GLASS. What an immature, graceless response.

I was with a large group and enjoyed the seating on the side. Perfect for our group and able to talk pretty far down the table. Our server was sweet and attentive enough. I’m afraid the food was not great. My chicken was lukewarm and not very tasty...another member of our group agreed. The beef stroganoff not that great. The special of Alfredo was said to be good. So great ambience but disappointing food.

Really beautiful place. Themed brunches are great and creative. My only comment about my (delicious) short rib dish would have been more of the beef’s sauce and it ended up a bit dry. That said, the flavor was on-point. Will be back!

Everything was just great. We were seated right on time. Tables are close together but sound level was not prohibitive to personal conversation. Our server was very attentive. Drinks were perfectly done. Excellent selection on the menu. Chef Jeffery Heyde indulged me in my special request. Food was delicious. I ordered decaf coffee and I was presented in a French Press. Nice touch. We’ll definitely be back!! Phyllis Baker

It's not that it was bad, I just don't think it's worth the money. This is the third "themed brunch" that we have attended (Princess, Dr. Seuss and Star Wars) and I was really hoping they would go all out. The website stated that they would have "Star Wars" specials, but that was not the case. Same menu, just changed the name of the items. Again, it's not that the food was bad, I just know at least a few other places in town I could get the same level of food for half the price. I was fine with paying more for the experience of the theme, but there was nothing special about it. Service wasn't great this time around either. Not super friendly and we waited forever to get drinks and place our order. I don't think we'll go back in the future.

This is one of Louisville 's best restaurants! We celebrated St. Patrick's Day here for brunch. Our table had corned beef hash (made with tender corned beef and sweet potatoes), veggie scramble (with goat cheese, mushrooms, and crispy kale) with hash browns, and green velvet cornmeal pancakes. Fresh orange and French-pressed coffee were the perfect complement to these delicious entrees. We are never disappointed here!

We frequent local dining spots and are usually quite easy to please. Unfortunately, we most likely will not return to Fork and Barrel. First impression was quaint and comforting atmosphere but really empty for 7:30 on a Friday night. Our first round of drinks took a very long time to arrive. For appetizers we had the ahi tuna and mussels, both were satisfactory. The disappointment came with dinner. My husband had the surf and turf special and was happy with his. My friends husband had the stroganoff and he was also pleased. Unfortunately, my friend and I don’t eat pork or beef so went with the veggie plate. It was advertised as a mixture or roasted veggies and mashed potatoes. When it arrived, it was a plate with three carrots, some Brussels sprouts, squash, and asparagus. I get it, that it was a veggie plate and nothing overwhelming special to begin with. But this seemed like a complete afterthought of whatever vegetables they had within reach plopped on a plate. Also, it did not have mashed potatoes which would have provided a different texture and pulled it all together. We were halfway through the meal, when the server stopped by to check on the food. We asked if it was supposed to include mashed potatoes and the response was yes, but they were out of potatoes. This would have been helpful to know when ordering. We finished our meals and plates are cleared. Then, the server brings a bowl of mashed potatoes to the table. At this point dinner was over. We had no interest in mashed potatoes as dessert. I know it seems petty but my friend and I paid top dollar for some carrots and brussel sprouts. Overall, the guys were pleased but my friend and I were extremely disappointed to pay over $200 per couple and leave still hungry. Overall service was slow as well, yet the restaurant never got busy.
