Repeat visit, really like the food - service is also good. My only complaint/constructive comment is related to the lack of "privacy". The tables are so close together that it's hard for people to converse, even quietly, or avoid bumping into others if you have to get up. They should take a few tables out...

We’d never been to F & B before, but our friends had and they commented on the limited menu. We didn’t realize that Friday, February 15th, would be a continuation of a special “Valentines” menu and were a little disappointed when we first arrived.

But......the options were plentiful enough and each of us had a delicious meal. My husband ordered the wedge salad and I ordered the French onion soup - it was a perfect start.

For entrees, my husband ordered the short ribs and I had the salmon. Both were nicely prepared and full of flavor, but the real winner for the night was our dinner companion who ordered the pork shank. Oh goodness - it just melted in your mouth. And the sides were a perfect accomplishment. His date ordered he stroganoff, which was perfectly savory, but a little skimpy - more like an appetizer portion. When we go back (not if), we will both order that shank so we don’t have to share. 😀

The wine list was reasonably priced, although dates weren’t included, so we were a little disappointed with a 2018 Pinot Noir that could have benefited from a couple years on the shelf.

We saw lots of tempting desserts being served all around us, but we decided on the chocolate meringue. I don’t have enough adjectives to do it justice, so will just say.....it was SO DARN GOOD!!!

The owner/chef stopped to talk with us at the end of our meal and was very engaging.

We will definitely return.

Service was excellent. Waitress was very knowledgeable. Food was really good. The specials, clam chowder and fried oysters were both particularly good and side of creamed spinach was to die for.

I ordered a burger medium well and when I received it, the meat was well over cooked to the point of being burnt. I would have simply asked for another burger if my waiter would have bothered to check on my table, but they were too occupied with the table right.next.to.us because they seemed to be ordering more expensive food and were older than my partner and myself. This was very shocking because I have never been treated poorly at a nice place because of my age. I was very excited to come hear because I read nice reviews, but my over all take away was, the waiters only care if they seem to profit a decent tip off of your order, the kitchen does not cook their burgers to order, and the manager does not check up on his tables either.

Most of the food was good but my English peas were hard little rocks. Another person at our table had the potato casserole ( I forget what it was called) and it was so tasteless he couldnt eat it. He ordered scallops and got three. He was still hungry when we left.
We were disappointed there was no bread or rolls at all. I had to ask for salt and pepper and eventually was brought a little dish with about one half to one teaspoon of each and a little spoon. I requested no gravy on my potatoes but got it anyway.
Our table was up against the window and we were cold. The noise level wouldn't have been bad except the tables were so close together a woman at the table next to ours was getting drunk and was laughing very, very loudly. When she wasn't laughing we were so close we could hear all of their conversation.

We had some issues, but luckily our server was able to rectify those issues. The savory food was OK, but the desserts were exceptional. I would go back and order something else - I think this place is worth a 2nd try.

Our server was not friendly and acted like we didn’t belong there. The scallops entree was overpriced for what it was and the side vegetables were cold. There are several restaurants with similar price points I would choose over here for dinner.

The ambiance was nice, it was a little loud, but I think that was mostly the inebriated gentleman next to me. The food was very under seasoned. There were four of us, each ordered something different; fish, beef, shrimp, and chicken. None of the entrees were winners. We also ordered an appetizer of crab cakes to split with the table, and noted that to the waiter. We received two mini crab cakes barely suitable for two people, let alone four. The clam chowder was very tasty and drinks were good, too.

Great food and dessert, bad service, decent happy hour. Apparently it's really inconvenient if you have a Costco gift card. Also, don't fall for the special bait and switch from $25 to $45.

The food was good. We tasted appetizers, salads and the vegetarian plate. The bartender and Happy Hour drinks were a pleasant surprise and very well made. We had the well brands, didn’t ask what they were and they were good quality. I believe this use to be Basa Restaurant and the venue is cozy and comfortable.

Waiter not very attentive. Nobody in dining room but seated right in doorway so an hour into dinner a party of 12 entered and completely surrounded our table getting drinks from bar and standing over us talking loudly. Shrimp and Grits appeared on menu as having okra (the reason I ordered it) but when it came it was zucchini instead. No comment at all by waiter...guess since it was green he thought I wouldn't notice. Short pour for premium wine......compared to normal pour on House wine. Other than our table of four and the one big group, nobody else in dining room.....had to wait on waiter for our checks. Going to theatre and he was told before we sat down.

Our group of 8 ladies was seated right beside another group of 8 ladies when there was another table set up for 8 that was not used and was in another part of the restaurant. We liked the decor of the restaurant. We were there on a Tuesday at 6. Three of us ordered crab cakes. After ordering, the waitress came back and told us they were out of crab cakes. This seemed unusual since they are closed on Monday and don't open till 4:00 on Tuesdays. If they were out of something, the waitress should have told us when we ordered. The food took a long time to come out. It may have been because the other group ordered about the same time but the waitress didn't keep us updated on the delay. Everyone seemed to like the food. I probably wouldn't return to this restaurant. I did not hear whether anyone else would return.

My famioy and I went for brunch Sunday morning. Honestly the food was over priced and a bit bland. My wife and i both had the braised short rib benedict and my son had the waffle with some fruit. The meat on the benedict had little to no flavor, it was as if the meat was not seasoned. The sause was good but there needed to be more with the little seasoning on the meat. My son’s waffle and fruit were good, but not $12 good. Unfortunatly qe pribably will not be back for brunch.

I read many other reviews from various sites before going here. Had high hopes. No one really enjoyed their meal. The $8 cocktail was good but there was not enough to warrant a price that high. In addition, the wine my husband ordered was not available, but the higher priced wine was, naturally. French Onion soup was too salty, braised short ribs were tough (really?), stroganoff was not inspiring, whatever the fish was was also tough (how does that happen?). Sorry, had high hopes.
