We have dined at Forge and Vine a few times. We dined there last night and brought friends who hadn’t been there before. They were very impressed and loved the food, atmosphere and service! Excellent place for a delicious dinner. Can’t wait to go there again!
The food was wonderful and the service was fantastic.
Everything was great but we had to wait a while for our table, with a reservation. Then had to wait even longer for our food but they were very busy so overall it was a great night out.
Very good service, drinks and wine were great. Food very salty!
We love how the menu changes seasonally, so there's always something new to try. Our server was friendly and we never felt rushed. Excellent meal and lovely date night.
We had a fantastic meal, in a beautiful setting, with excellent service. A bit expensive for every week dining!
Our second visit to F&V. They rearranged the table seating, so we couldn't get the "ring-side seats" to watch the chefs in action. Our server was attentive, not obtrusive, and very knowledgeable about all the menu items. He even left a menu for us to read about other offerings. Our dinners were delicious, but I did have to comment to our server that the frites were 'WAY TOO SALTY! I could not finish them. We will be back later in the month for a big round birthday dinner with family.
Simply the best ribeye in these parts! Perfectly prepared every time. Food is always so fresh, atmosphere is comfortable but elegant, and the staff are friendly, true professionals.
This spot is truly a gem, one of the best restaurants outside of Boston. The food and ambiance is all great!
Everything was friendly and just right. It was our anniversary ad they remembered several times. Food was plentiful and excellent
Good was made very well! Came out faster than we expected it would. Presentation was beautiful on both and both cooked amazing. We got desert afterwards and got the crème brûlée and it was to die for. So good
The food, drinks and service all really good! Ambiance is nice as well.
Outstanding food and Service. Reilly (sp?) was very attentive without being over bearing.
We will definitely be back.
A lovely evening celebrating multiple birthdays. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our table even with our Open Table reservation though it was a busy Friday night so we weren’t too bothered. Excellent oysters and shrimp cocktail. My companions’ salmon and chicken entrées looked delicious however my wild rice harvest bowl had crunchy under cooked rice. Other than that it was very tasty. Truly exceptional service from our friendly, attentive, considerate server and a phenomenal atmosphere! We will return soon!
Have gone there a few times for date night. Love the experience and the food.
We went for our anniversary and our dinner was amazing! Our waitress was the BEST! We will definitely go back!
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Food was great. Service was great except when we ordered dessert. We had to wait quite a while for the dessert but enjoyed it very much when we finally got it. So happy to have such a nice restaurant here in Groton.
Been to Forge snd Vine several times and have had the same amazing experience each time. Love the food, ambiance, service.
Forge and Vine never disappoints! Another outstanding evening from start to finish. Food was fabulous as always and our server was exceptional. Made for a very fun evening with friends. The only down side to Forge and Vine is that it is near impossible to get reservations….Which only speaks about how great this place is!
I expected better food for the money. I am vegetarian and the wild rice bowl was okay - I've had better.for less money elsewhere. Cocktail was great.
We are never disappointed at the Forge and Vine. The atmosphere is so comfortable, food is terrific. The only detail that made this visit better was having Emily as our server. She was friendly and knowledgeable!
It so worth the drive to get there!
Amazing service and love the atmosphere. Our appetizer and dessert were delicious. We had the pork belly and the crème brulee. My meal was very tasty. I had the chicken Milanese. My husband's was lacking a lot of seasoning and he was very disappointed. F&V kindly removed it from our check out us requesting too. All in all one of our favorite restaurants in town.
The restaurant is unique…and beautiful. The food was delicious the chefs are so creative.
Outstanding food and presentation, kudos to the chefs. Service is helpful, professional, but not overbearing. The menu has a lot of variety, and changes by the season. The current one is even better than it’s predecessors.
We loved the new fall menu. Also a really fun waitress!
Forge and Vine continues to serve excellent farm-to-table food. Unfortunately, at my last meal there, the restaurant seated me outside under a tent that looked like it was pressed into service after someone cancelled a wedding. Cold—both aesthetically and literally—the setting could hardly have been drearier. This wasn't due to Covid, I don't think—the inside of the restaurant was packed with a maskless crowd. It just felt like the restaurant wanted to maximize revenue even at the expense of degrading the experience. It didn't help that, while she was waiting on the table next to mine, the waitress got into a conversation with the diners about how the restaurant couldn't get enough staff because the Starbucks near where she lived was paying $19 an hour. I'm sympathetic, but the result was that an understaffed area got even less service while she chatted with some diners. If you believe that part of a good meal out is eating in a comfortable environment, this experience would really turn you off, as it did me. Forge and Vine should give it up.
Wondeful dining experience! Hostesses and waitstaff very upbeat.
Food was delicious. I will definitely recommend to family and friends.
Lobster melt was cold and tough. Harvest rice bowl was really a salad and poorly composed. Menu descriptions were unclear. Room was noisy. Lousy seat next to service area.
Service was friendly and attentive and vichyssoise (although hot [?]) was delicious.
All the food was too salty for our taste. Preparation was good. Service was great.
The food is always wonderful and new items have been added for me to choose from. The "old fashion" was very smooth with great flavor.
The only problem is the 3 season room gets to noisy and hard to have a conversation.
Amazing atmosphere and drinks! Our server was very pleasant and attentive.
Service was perfection! Food was delightful. Fresh, creative dishes. Happy to celebrate a special Birthday there! What a treat!
Our party of 4 enjoyed everything about our dinner. The food and drinks were great as well as the service and setting.
Our server, Alex, was outstanding. The dinner was delicious and the seasonal cocktails we had were very good. Thank you for a fun evening.
We had an excellent experience last night for our anniversary dinner! It was very busy and we arrived early for our reservation, knowing we wouldn’t be seated right away (totally fine!) and were directed to sit at the harvest table to get a drink. The waitress came right over and we got our drink quickly. We were seated at our reservation time and our waitress, Katie Rose, was so friendly and attentive! Our food and drinks were, of course, awesome.
Nice server; appetizer took forever and when we got it, was bottom of bag of calamari - better to say they didn’t have anymore.
I had beef short rib, partner had salmon, and my mother pork chop. The first two were way salty and skimpy for the price. No sauce on beef at all, meager amount of potato and vegetable. Waiter was adequate, but more suited to a pub. I've had guys pump my gas that seemed more finessed. I wish I'd tried something really basic like a burger or chicken, but I had the notion they have a good chef there. My friends and I had a FAR superior meal the next night for far less money and I didn't feel the need to eat later on in the evening.
I'd only go for drinks and something simple, and enjoy the view. Don't let them seat you in the tent. It looked primitive.
Maybe it's an open table thing, but why do they ask ahead if it's a special occasion (birthday) if there's not even a verbal acknowledgement? Nada. If I was the restaurant owner, and was armed with that info, I'd make sure someone showed appreciation that a party chose your restaurant.
This is my favorite place in the Groton area. I just love the open kitchen area and the wood fired stove that just completes the experience. The food is always outstanding. Not a place to grab a cheap meal, but certainly one to have an outstanding dining experience. Well worth the trip.
It is always a pleasure having a date at Forge and Vine. The food, drinks, and service is always top rated.
