Drawing inspiration from the region’s history and natural surroundings, the 156-seat freestanding restaurant reflects elemental themes of wood, water, iron, and fire, reminiscent of the carriage houses and blacksmith shops that once dotted the landscape. The centerpiece of Forge & Vine is an eight-foot wood fired grill and open kitchen with counter seating where guests can enjoy dinner while interacting with the chef. Welcoming residents as well as visitors to the area, Forge & Vine offers a strong sense of place with a design sensibility that brings in the outside with floor to ceiling windows offering breathtaking pastoral views of Gibbett Hill. The restaurant boasts spacious and casual bar with service inside and out and features classic and comfortable cuisine sourced from the best produce, seafood, and meats that New England offers.

Tried our first brunch at Forge & Vine. Highly recommended. Great food, craft cocktails, and atmosphere.

The service was only so so this time. A pretty long wait for or appetizers. I don't like to quibble with price but I think the shrimp were not of a quality to justify a $4.50 per piece price. As the old saying goes, "cheat me on the price, not the goods" Having finished my grousing I will say we still love the Forge and Vine and will be back. :)

We had a really nice meal here. It was our third time to Forge and Vine. The couple things of note were: 1 - that we arrived to a busy and noisy evening with one party going on. But we were seated in a relatively quiet section of the restaurant which was nice. 2 - that one of the entrees was substandard. We didn't raise a fuss, but our waitress had her radar up and could tell. She took that entree off the bill and we had never complained. The food overall was great otherwise and the service was as noted above expectations.

Food was fine - nothing special. Margarita flat bread had no flavor (and huge pieces of tomato with the core still visibly in it) Oysters were meh… calamari good with a nice sauce, salads fresh but unremarkable. Service was good - Robert was attentive and friendly. Love the “vibe” but the food was as nothing special.

This was my first time being disappointed at this restaurant. For two people who only had water for drinks, our bill came to a little over $120. I had ordered the braised short ribs (plural on the menu), but there was only one rib on my dinner plate, along with about 3 tablespoons of carrots. The side order of broccolini I had ordered didn’t arrive with my meal, when our server realized that, she quickly brought some to me, but it was cold. While the food was quite tasty, the portion was ridiculously small. Our dining table was quite small, and in the middle of a walkway, and we will frequently being bumped by weight, staff and other customers. When our entrées were delivered, and it was clear to the server that there was no room on the table for those dinner plates, instead of taking our empty salad in soup bowls away, he just pushed them to the other side of the very small table, which, of course didn’t solve the problem. For all the good experiences I’ve had here, of course, I will go back; but if this was my first time dining at this restaurant, it would be my last time.

The Korean BBQ was very fatty. :( (Enough so they took them off our bill) The Brussels sprouts were only like warm. The wood fried shrimp was pretty spicy… was a little surprised. The small plate mushroom specialties offered tonight were a treat! You should be aware that the kitchen staff are very very close to some tables. They have a practice of shouting out orders and those receiving the orders being very vocal In their response. Might be fun for some, but was a little obnoxious if you are trying to have a conversation with your table mates. Not sure we will return, 3rd visit.. and was just as noisy the other visits. The price, well, tapas, appetizers and one drink each… $75 person. Ok, it was a night out.

Forge and Vine is a fantastic restaurant! Our server was excellent and attentive. We had the poutine and Brussels sprouts for appetizers- both tasty and a compliment to each other.
