   Menu was promising. Food wasn’t well cooked, especially the crab thermidor. The ambience was good until the bright glaring lights were switched on at 9:30 which ruined it.

   Excellent welcome from staff. Attentive service. Food was absolutely exceptional. Fresh produce, everything had a flavour whether it was by seasoning or produce itself. Top spot for our adventures in York! Happily book again!

   I like Forest. It’s a nice menu, great location and the food is tasty. However, on this last visit I was incredibly disappointed with the service. I was having brunch in my own and whilst my order was taken quickly and I was greeted nicely on arrival after my food was served I had no further interaction with any staff. No one asked me if everything was ok, did I want another drink, the menu wasn’t returned so I could have ordered dessert or coffee. I felt completely over looked. I asked for the bill and left. Again no thank you or have a good day. There was plenty of staff so no excuse. Felt very disappointed.

   Delicious Sunday lunch, plenty of veg, and the orange chocolate fondue was to die for. We've eaten here before and it never disappoints. Our little mutt was made welcome and the staff were friendly and efficient. Happy to recommend.

   Forest was great in terms of the gluten free choices that it offers - so thank you for that. The staff were very helpful and the atmosphere was good. The food was very good too.

   We went to Forest for a second time for my husbands birthday. It was such a lovely experience. The food was beautiful & the staff were really friendly & attentive, nothing was too much trouble. At the end they brought out a beautiful plate saying happy birthday on it with some yummy treat on it. Super thoughtful & kind. It made my husbands day. Thank you guys. You’re all awesome xx
