Consistently great. Love their unique offerings, as well and the proven old school favorites. The staff is amazing and make your feel special.
Valentine’s Day dinner. Venue is unique and interesting and I’ve wanted to try it for some time now. Food was overpriced, which is ok for Valentine’s Day, but I’d expect it to at least be prepared properly. Steak was cold and not all the items were served as the fixed menu said they would be (no English Peas for example). No one asked if we were happy with meal, we had an 8:00 reservation and folks seemed more focused on cleaning up to go home than providing the attentive service a $300 plus ($100/plate plus wine and tip) dinner would assumingly receive. Would not come back as there as many other better options for that price point.
Making reservation online was very helpful, the staff called us to confirm and also share a bit about the menu. The email reminders were greatly appreciated.
We were warmly greeted by John, who was most welcoming and helpful in showing us around and to our table. We were a party of four, and we sat on the second level in a well lit and spacious room. Although we were surrounded by other tables, it didn't seem too congested and there were plenty of space for privacy.
Matt, our server, was quick to go over our menu and wine pairings and answered any questions we had. The course meal was timely paced, and we LOVED all the wine selection for each dish. Great presentation and portion, food was phenomenal, and service was attentive and diligent throughout.
Overall experience was fantastic, we enjoyed our time together there. Complimentary to the kitchen staff for a wonderful course dinner, and to the serving and hosting staff for being patient and taking care of our group. We look forward to our next dining experience with you all again.
Thank you for making our special evening a memorable one.
Beautiful composed dishes, an exquisite treat for tastebuds. So happy that we spent our date night here! Exploring the magical Victorian house was like taking a step back in time.
Great ambiance. Very quiet and enjoyable. Food was great as well.
Very nice dining experience for a special occasion. Food is good, but portions are on the small side. Flawless service. On the noisy side. We will be back.
It’s not just a place to eat it’s an experience. Everything about it was a step above anywhere else I had ever dined before.
Lived up to the hype, will be our new special occasion spot. Amazing!
The food was incredibly underwhelming and our server was not terribly knowledgeable of the menu
Matt was outstanding and most professional job as a server. He made our 55th anniversary a perfect evening.
The general manager, Mimi, seated us exactly at 6:15, which was our reservation time.
Great experience. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Food was fantastic! Dates/Bacon appetizer was delicious and had order of duck for entree and it was perfect. Highly recommended. Interesting back story to the restaurant as well.
We came to Forepaugh’s for dinner before a concert. We were NOT disappointed! What a great history the property has as well. We will be back for sure! Thanks again!!
The food was not up to what we have come to expect. It felt like maybe the kitchen had an off night. Portions were smaller as well. We will be back though. Last night was just an off night.
Delicious food, great service, friendly staff
This was by far the most amazing restaurant. The food was tremendous. The server was divine.
Good food and service but pretty expensive for what you get.
Very nice food was awesome and price was good the waitress was amazing
Outstanding food, excellent service and staff in a beautiful setting.
We had a wonderful evening.
My niece and I were greeted by John who made us feel totally comfortable. We enjoyed all of the amazing flavors of the walleye & scallops dinners that they so kindly split for us.
Of course the setting in the beautiful Victorian house is lovely and we enjoyed meandering throughout the many rooms after dinner.
It was a special night in a special place!!!
Had great service as well as fantastic food
The food was wonderful especially the deserts Sophia’s Honey cake was wonderful a must try.
Will go again.
This was our first time and we were very pleased from the moment we walked in and how we were greeted shown to our table with a history of the mansion, to the food and then the tour!! Amazing!!
Was not impressed as much on food .. walleye was fishy teasting That is from being frozen too long In other words not fresh... portion was small as well. Love the staf And ambiance. I think you have a management/ chef problem.
Really disappointed in the food. Especially for the price.
The food and service are always excellent. There's a reason we drive from Des Moines to St Paul just for the experience of Forpaugh's.
The food was pretty good, and the restaurant had an interesting vibe! The dinner rolls to begin with were good! We were told that the 3rd floor was the most haunted. We were seated on the 2nd floor and we decided to tour the 3rd floor. It was definitely cooler up there and there seemed to be some cold spots... very historic restaurant, I would come back!
Beautiful setting and always fantastic service. Presentation and care go into every dish.
Was over priced for what the food was. Good food jut a little high priced
We were married there 3 years ago, and greatly enjoy going back every year for anniversary, and then some. The staff and food are beyond amazing. We love it.
The restaurant beautifully decorated for the holidays. Our servers were friendly and attentive but not hovering. The food was outstanding, as we have always found here. We even got a tour of the other rooms and a bit of the mansion's history from our server.
We were ther for our 20th anniversary and the fine dining was excellent. I had the roast duck and my wife had the ribeye, both were cooked just the way we wanted and the service was perfect.
Everything was what we hoped for. A bit pricey, but we knew that going in. Cozy, warm, unique, classy. We have been here before and wanted to treat our children to something special. We all had a great time!
Our server Tara was amazing, very attentive and had great suggestions and information.
First time back here in 30 years. My wife loved her food, mine was good, not memorable. The ambiance is wonderful. Each room has only a few tables, so is very intimate and very easy to have a conversation. Our service was very good when working with us, but at times, not as attentive as we would have liked. Her support staff was very good.
My family and I enjoyed our Christmas dinner. They really enjoyed the ambiance and the friendly service.
We took our kids to see a show at The Ordway and then out for dinner at Christmas. We had a group of 9 and liked Forepaugh's for its smaller rooms--we didn't have the room to ourselves, but we had a good space and it was quiet so we could hear each other. Also, it was beautifully decorated for Christmas.
The food is good--not fantastic--and the wine and cocktails were very good. All in all, we had a very nice time and I'm happy we went to Forepaugh's.
This was my first time at Fourpaughs and it was a taste experience that I look forward to having again and again!! The staff explained every item on the menu and you can tell they are very proud of their place of work.
The restaurant was decorated beautifully, lovely staff and attentive. Overall the food was good, not great for the cost.
We were treated to the friendliest, kindest, and loveliest service at Forepaughs. The food was a work of art. Everyone in the Twin Cities ought to experience the dining pleasure at this wonderful eatery.
Noise level was high ... food arrived cold ... value for the food high
