Great atmosphere matched with wonderful service. Highly recommend!
I picked FC to celebrate my birthday for the amazing food, service and atmosphere. The waiter and sommelier were on point. The steak tartar, calamari and oysters were amazing.
The asparagus burrata starter came out HOT, we couldn’t touch the dish it was so hot. The greens were warped with 4 orange slices on top. This was supposed to be a cold plate!
The scallops and whatever else was on the plate were floating in sauce. I think the sauce should have been drizzled? Again, I like sauce but I don't think this was the correct execution. The pork chop was ordered well done and it came out medium at best and very rare at the bone.
We had a great time and paid a hefty bill. Your kitchen needs this feedback as do all the servers presenting the food. We get it, pandemic, we’re all figuring it out.
Extremely slow service. I left hungry - the dishes were sparse and overpriced.
So many people dining. How exciting. The patio is airy and has enough heat lamps too. What a treat to have great food and enjoy being out Of course the food and service are first rate.
We had a wonderful Sunday brunch, with fantastic food and great service on their patio. Was a beautiful day and we enjoyed ourselves. There was no pressure to rush and the food was brought out at a nice relaxing pace.
The food was amazing as well as the ambiance and service. I will be back!
This place exceeded my expectations!! Everything was just lovely!!
Our Easter Brunch was fantastic and every brunch and dinner I have had here exceeds expectations. I am still thinking about how good the food was1
Divine food! Everything we ordered was delicious!
Very good food an service
Love the ambiance and the food! Would highly recommend sitting in the courtyard area. There were enough heat lamps to keep everyone warm!
Amazing experience. Dinner was fantastic. Highly recommend the fried chicken, calamari, and cheesecake. Ambiance was lovely. Best date night spot in SF thus far.
Always a hit! They make great suggestions on the wine. The food is inventive so definitely ask the server about it. The ambiance is relaxing and modern.
Amazing as always. Love this restaurant and excited to to visit again!
I was charged $4 for a side of brown avocado. I never saw my server while my eggs were getting cold, so I just picked off the brown parts.
The fruit and with “yogurt” was a joke. A very wide bowl-plate with unsweet berries, sour kiwi, one deconstructed blood orange, and some nuts spread out. The yogurt was more of a garnish. There was not even a spoonful. You couldn’t take that on a picnic.
Nobody is tasting the fruit served.
I will say the scramble was delicious, as was the Cinema Paradiso.
I love everything about Foreign Cinema. This is one of the best restaurants in the city.
Wonderful date night spot. They, as all other restaurants are getting used to the new normal and were busy. The server was very friendly, knowledgeable and the staff held it together. Be patient with them, all restaurants are a bit understaffed and getting their legs under them again. I have nothing bad to say about this experience, and I look forward to going back again.
Amazing severs and staff. Food was excellent as was the wine recommendation.
Was an excellent date night, I had been trying to book a reservation and finally found a night that worked- and it turned out to be the perfect evening! The food was delicious, the ambiance was wonderful, and the service was fantastic. We had an early dinner and were able to see the restaurant shift from daytime to night, and catch the very beginning of the movie Fanrastic Mr. Fox right as we ate dessert.
Really cute ambience, excellent and timely food service. We were really full and wanted to get dessert elsewhere in the Mission, but they still came by with a complimentary Kiwi sorbet dessert for my BF's birthday- it was very sweet!
Food was fabulous. Would highly recommend going here for dinner. Lovely atmosphere sitting outside.
Delicious food, I would definitely recommend. My only feedback for improvement is for the staff to smile more.
Great place to celebrate my 30th birthday!
We arrived a bit early, which I had my reservation time wrong, no worries on our part but the hostess was a bit rude about it. He suggested we go have a cocktail a few doors down, ummm... where? Everywhere on Mission you need reservations. Well, we hung out in the front hall (with everyone else) and waited patiently. He saw us again 20 min later and was able to sit us indoor (we had outdoor reservations), we were okay with it. Sat, had great wine, ordered the Antipasto; the faux gras with mustard and pate was lovely, house made bread and butter was yummy and we all had different main dishes; the duck, sesame fried chicken, halibut and oriechette pasta, they were all filled with wonderful flavors, very yummy. Ended dinner with Sorbet, which was another hit. The service was good, very attentive to us and would definitely return. As we were leaving, I happened to noticed the full bar at the back of the restaurant with two bartenders mixing up an array of drinks...... why would we have gone to another bar there was one right here? Just weird; no not because of Covid either because a couple of folks were having a great time back there laughing and enjoying themselves. :-)
Came here for brunch. Although we had outdoor seating reserved, my party arrived an hour early. We got to dine inside and celebrated my sister's birthday in style. Food and ambience was fabulous.
salad was really salty and service was really slow, but nice to eat outside and drinks were good
I love the brunch at Foreign Cinema. It’s absolutely delicious and the service is exceptional.
Food was excellent! Server could have been better. She didn’t know the menu well at all.
One of the best meals you will have in San Francisco. Just scrumptious and the service was excellent! Lovely atmosphere and ambiance. Overall great place.
Everything was great with the exception of service. Service was okay, we were served but it didn’t feel great to be rushed. We felt taken advantage of with how long we could stay due to covid which is understandable; however, we kept being reminded and we felt like we couldn’t focus on our time together.
Great place for a special occasion. Awesome ambience!
Food was amazing.
This was our first time dining at Foreign Cinema and won’t be the last.
Great and safe service and wonderful food.
Server was a bit rude. Greeted us after 20 minutes of waiting. As he greeted us, he stated that there was a $30 minimum to stay at the table....we asked the host and he said no that wasn’t true lol After that he disappeared for a while, we assumed he got busy. Another female server noticed we had been waiting and took our order. She was wonderful and very polite. The restaurant itself was beautiful and a fun atmosphere. Dessert and drinks were wonderful. The original server reappeared and dropped off the check. Maybe the guy was having a rough night. Ended up having a good time and anyway.
For a restaurant that has been around so long, it never gets tired. Always new and interesting flavors.
Server forgot a dish we had ordered, bringing us a dessert menu before our main dish.
Great food and ambience, unique experience
My wife and I were trying to find a place that we could enjoy some great ambience with fantastic food. We were lucky to get a earlier reservation for the courtyard. Super cool outdoor area with shade and socially distant tables.
Started with the pop tart that was more than I expected. Crystal sugars coated the top with guava filling that started us out right. I felt adventurous and had our waitress recommend some oysters for myself as well as the Calamari dish with red mole sauce. Talk about tasty.
While I really enjoyed the sunny side eggs and house brisket, it was a smaller dish than expected so I’m glad I had the starters. My wife ordered the champagne omelette which she was pretty happy about. The preparation time wasn’t bad at all and we had time to order the madras Bloody Mary, totally worth it.
At the end I had the espresso with vanilla ice cream that was a solid pick me up and my wife ordered the sorbet which was had a pretty cool presentation. I wanna come back!
Amazing service atmosphere and food. Delicious espresso martinis
Worth the 30 minute walk in slightly windy san fran. The oysters and food was to die for, let alone the seats outside looking at Fantastic Mr. Fox.
