Such a GREAT experience. Our waiter was phenomenal. Food was spectacular and the whole staff was kind, and welcoming. Would recommend this place to many people. Octopus, Osso Bucco and the Lamb were great.
Chef Luca never disappoints; unique menus with creative plating & delicious desserts.
Service was great, and we love being visited by the chef! Food was unique and very tasty. Dessert was wonderful!
It is a wonderful new Northern Italian restaurant for Charlotte. We will return.
Needs to improve wine list . We were a party of 6 do adding gratuity to Bill was expected but mot as high. Everything else was fabulous!
This new venue absolutely lives up to Luca’s heritage from his Passion8 days. The menu is simple, yet very creative. While the service is more homey than elegant, it makes the overall atmosphere very welcoming.
It was great to see Chef Luca back in the kitchen in Charlotte. I had the duck (Luca's duck is always very good, cooked perfectly) and my friend had the squid. Our starters were excellent as well. For dessert, we shared a non-dairy GF pineapple flan. I can only say wow. It was not noisy and we were seated promptly (we had reservations). I am going back and taking my husband. Thanks to Chef Luca and all his team for a great experience.
Hidden Gem - we were afraid because it’s in a holiday inn - but it’s a great restaurant- great food - ordered the best meet and cheese app - calamari- had a sweet sauce - awesome - I had oso bucca - real good - had the salmon - land and veal chop - really good - give it a chance - it’s the real deal
WOW! Had a wonderful meal and the wine recommendation was just perfect.
Love there are small pasta bowls.
Will be back!!!
Panzanella salad was pretty bland, bread in the salad was way too stale. Pappardelle was served in a silly bowl, impossible to eat, I had to put it on my bread plate. Furthermore, it was cold, and the pasta was way too all-dente. Perhaps it was because the pasta was not consistent thickness, so some of it was done, some hard as a rock.
May go back, but not until the chef gets his act together a little better. Although he was in Italy...maybe he should be at the restaurant!
Average food. Pear dessert taste like it had been frozen
Great food and great service - great place for a girl's night. My only suggestion would be to make sure there are white wine selections in stock as they were out of a few that we wanted for the evening, didn't make a difference to us, but would have rather had what we really wanted.
Surprisingly quiet Saturday night - less than half the tables were taken at 7 p.m. This may have helped the noise level which was a pleasantly subdued, especially when compared to the decibel levels reached in many/most restaurants around Charlotte these days. Service was great and food was exceptional: salads, sea bass, lasagna and pastas. One of the four of us noted the lasagna as being the best they've had in the area. Reasonably priced also when comparing to other restaurants in town.
If I hadn’t looked on line, I would never have known the restaurant was around. Passion8 was my very favorite and when it closed....... I was saddened. Chef Luca and his staff needs to advertise BIG TIME!!! Through house mailings, through the Blumenthal like restaurant Aria, either way, this is a home run place and should be shared!!!
I visited Forchetta on a Monday night as part of a birthday party. We were very impressed. It's a little more 'high-brow' than the casual listing on their page, but since we were there to celebrate we fit right in. We were a party of 7 and there was one other large party, the rest of the restaurant had about 5 other couples at tables and 4-5 people at the bar.
The food was phenomenal. Between the 7 of us we had the Polpo allla Griglia (octopus), the Fagottini (to die for), the burrata, the papparadelle (underwhelming, but still good), the squid ink fettucine (as delicious as it is beautiful), the lasagna, the osso buco (best thing on the table), the duck, and the veal chop.
The wait staff was lovely- he was very accommodating to our festive night, allowing for us to bring our own cake (we called a head) and helping us select nice wines. He was clearly not used to young professionals (we are all 30) but he recovered quickly enough once he realized we weren't children and could handle the more sophisticated menu.
Over all- DELICIOUS food (go hungry), large portions, accommodating staff, and a generally wonderful evening.
Luis did a great job waiting on us. He clearly is a true professional. The salmon and rigatoni were really good. I found the octopus to be a little less tender than I would like. The wines were low-end ordinary. A selection of nice Italian wines by the glass would've been a perfect compliment to the our meal.
Excellent menu and food. The veal chop was as good as any I’ve had in NYC. Carbonara was very rich and creamy. Elk meatballs were a touch dry but the sauce made up for it. We sat at the bar and it felt very much like a Holiday Inn hotel bar. Female bartender seemed rather disinterested in being there. No warmth or hospitality. Appetizers came and we had no share plates or silverware, despite it being slow. I felt bad for the servers in the main dining room, because they all genuinely seemed to care about what they were doing. Manager was doing laps, seemed to never stop moving around. This place has lots of potential if the service standards are raised significantly! Hoping for the best because Chef Luca is amazing!
Food was very good. Tomas our waiter was excellent. Decor needs upgrade. Chairs were too low felt like sitting at the children's table. They validate parking or you can valet through Holiday Inn
Late lunch, wonderfully prepared, thoughtful presentation, personal touches. Great new place!
Great experience and great food. I especially love that Chef Luca makes all of the pasta in-house, nothing dried or frozen. We will be back!
Forchetta recently opened and if our visit is any indication, it should become a favorite in Charlotte. The cuisine is authentic Italian and the chef will take you back to Italy with his old world recipes. The decor was was impressive as was the service, a truly memeberable experience
Love the re-do of this restaurant. Went for early dinner before a show and it’s a perfect location.
Thought the food was very good and the menu has many good options. The pasta dishes have half portions which is great paired with a salad. I had the grilled romaine salad and rigatoni. Very tasty! Another diner had the squid ink pasta which he rated highly as well. They had only been open 2 days and servers were a bit inexperienced but I’m sure that will improve. Nice atmosphere and all the place settings were beautiful pottery dishes. Definitely will go back.
