Opened in 2012, Forcella crafts each pizza with style, grace, and top ingredients. It all begins with Caputo 00 flour and ends in a big, domed, wood-burning oven to pump out perfectly blistered, pillowy crusts like clockwork. The warm, rustic dining space is simple but comfortable, with a welcoming bar that offers a great view of the pizzaiolo performing his magic. You can create your own pizza with any number of fresh ingredients, or try one of their signature pies, like the Montanara, a unique house specialty that's fried, then decked with creamy fior di latte and slid into the oven for finishing.

Best Neapolitan pizza in NYC! (said by a Neapolitan expat ;) )
The lemon pizza and the pizza fritta are top notch, make sure you keep some space in your stomach for the Angioletti, a massive plate of little fried pizza dough pieces covered with Nutella #heavenonearth !
Vasy welcomed me back to this quaint little spot in Williamsburg. He served up some delicious calamari over arugula with a side of marinara sauce. This time I went for the fried pizza. The taste and texture was better than I thought it was going to be. I was too full to finish it and took the rest with me. I really enjoyed my meal. The staff superb. Made me feel like family.
We came here because we had to utilize an OpenTable gift certificate, and we were very surprised by the quality of food for such a reasonable price. My wife and I shared the Burrata, which was very good. I followed with the pasta with fresh pesto (fresh is an understatement, it was radiating with green color). My wife had the fried pizza with mushroom and truffle oil, which was very very good and quite a large portion for 1 person.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with Forcella. They claim to be the best pizza in Brooklyn. Um, no. We had an arugula salad with gorgonzola - it was the best dish of the meal, altho not particularly memorable. Everything else was basically tasteless - fried calamari (how do you make that so bland?) with bland tomato sauce to dip it in. Pizza Margherita Extra with more bland tomato sauce and a decent crust, and Pizza Margherita with sausage and truffle oil, which made it marginally more interesting. Still, the whole experience was meh. At least it was relatively cheap - if that makes it a good value for mediocre food, so be it.
Vasy my server welcomed me in to begin my dining experience. I started out with the eggplant parmesan which was seasoned just right and went well with the garlic bread. The homemade lasagna was perfect for my taste buds. I opt out for the fried pizza which is what they are famous for because I didn't realize it at the time. So hopefully on my next dining trip there I will get to try it.
You will probably walk by this place without seeing it. It's around the corner from a main Avenue Grand Ave and Lorimer st, but it's a good place for pizza and a salad with a bottle of wine. They have an ornate oven that prepares the pizza quite nicely. They have a nice variety of pizzas and quite delish. They have a good selection of wine and quite good as well. The salads are really good and deserve to be added to your meal. There was only 1 guy serving and he seemed to have it under control. Not much personality but got the job done. The cost is quite reasonable for this place. It is a wide open space with plenty of seating. The bar is well stocked. Added prosciutto to my margarita pizza and even without the prosciutto it is quite tasty. The arugula salad had a nice dressing that accentuated the flavor and the walnuts added were good, with shaved pecorino cheese. I would return here in a heartbeat.
We saw they had mixed reviews on Yelp - some people love their food here and some people were not thrilled - and decided to go anyways. So glad we did! The pizza is super good! We had some pizza with jalapeno on it and another pizza with a ton of arugula on it. The jalapeno one wasn't super hot but definitely spicy and a unique taste. The arugula one was a little soggy in the middle but still super good. We also really liked the garlic bread, although we thought it was weird that the appetizer order came with only three pieces...how often are 3 people eating together? Especially since the tables were set up for two people each and then pushed together to accommodate larger groups...weird. Anyways, it is BYOB and it was a $12 corkage fee for our wine soooo probably won't go back but it was good! Really quiet.
I absolutely loved it!!! We went about 5:30pm and it was perfect!!! The host, was not only handsome, but very gracious!! His Italian accent was the right touch being a host/waiter. It will make you feel like you're in Italy. Brick oven and all!! I will definitely be returning. The ONLY reason I rated the food 4 stars is because I was a little disappointed the amount of food was so little. However, I did leave feeling comfortable and not overly full. But a little more would have nice.
I had read good reviews about Forcella before dining there but did not know really what to expect. Once there, I was impressed with the quality of the ingredients in the pizzas, which explains their somewhat steep price. Still worth every bite, but not something I would necessarily rush back to eat either. The building that the restaurant resides in is a hole-in-the-wall, but I think that's also part of the charm! We ate with my 11-month old, and the restaurant was very accommodating to him.
Their pizza is a bit soggy on the bottom and the service was very slow, there was only 3 other occupied tables. We were the last ones in there and the service was still slow, had to wave my hand to get their attention. Probably will not go there again. There are other gourmet pizza places with better service.
The restaurant is on a smaller side and tables are set pretty close together, but we were having an early dinner so there were very few people. The food was excellent, we made custom pizza and while one of my ingredients didn't make in to my pizza I was pretty happy nonetheless. We ended the evening with very tasty cappuccinos and Angioletti Alla Nutella, which is not only big enough for two but also beyond amazing! Can't wait to go back and try the rest of their menu!
