Best grass fed filet in the Bay Area, hands down!

Food and service were amazing! Forbes went above my expectations to make my wife's birthday a memorable day!

This restaurant ALWAYS offers amazing food. We usually get the same thing (the kobe thing, called something else), but this time I tried the rib eye with blue cheese. I'm still dreaming about it, it was that good. Highest quality of meat, cooked to perfection = best restaurant in town. It is expensive, but you are never disappointed.

Had the Monday Prix Fixe surf and turf meal. From first to third course it was great. Nice that it included a glass of wine also. Been here a few times before and I'll definitely be back again in the future.

We made a reservation because the Monday night 3 course dinner appealed to us, both in items and price. Each course was delicious.

We particularly love the special touch Forbes takes to recognize special events. My wife loved seeing her name on the menu for her birthday.

They took such good care of us. It was my dad’s 70th birthday and they made him feel special. Even printed a special menu with his name on it.

The steak was over cooked. The cocktails were not done properly. The brussel sprouts were mushy.
That said the service was phenomenal! Very attentive. When they brought out mushrooms errantly for the app, she quickly brought out the right appetizer.

It was an amazing experience. I proposed to my husband that night. The staff called me beforehand to confirm the reservation as well as any special request. Let me know how to hint the waiter to get the ring. The service is extremely well. The food is better than amazing. We have the special trio and lobster tail. So delicious. At the end they even surprised us with how they decorate the desert plate with the ring on top.

Very few reasonably priced wines. Too high markup on their wine list.

Food not cooked as ordered. Wine list totally overpriced.

Should have medium price wines by the bottle. Be able to cook steaks as requested. Very attentive waiters.

We had such a great first experience. The food, wine and service were wonderful. They wrote happy birthday on the pre-fixed March menu and it made my boyfriend feel very special.

Plan to come here again.

A great 80th birthday dinner. Since I mentioned it to staff, I thought they might bring some kind of small dessert w candle, that didn't happen, a nice touch for price!

The food was delicious. The server was attentive but I think crossed a line in joking around with us too much. Very (too) pricey. Too expensive for a family dinner out. Would have appreciated some information on the menu about gluten free options.

Overall food was excellent;

beet salad to start was superb; goat cheese was proportionate; I had recalled a previous visit where there was simply too much cheese and it unbalanced the salad.

Grass fed beef was delicious; came with a sauce over the dish as opposed to on the side; probably should have asked for it on the side to sample the purer flavor of the grass fed filet (as opposed to my wife's 'standard' filet from her filet & shrimp dish.

Overall, both main courses were superb and we felt provided a little more value (as each had sides) as opposed to just steaks ala carte. Nonetheless, we also enjoyed a side of kale (great preparation; not overly seasoned but yet still transformed the kale to higher heights than the spinach accompaniment to the grass-fed filet)

Only negative is that we didn't have room for dessert!

Bar service and table service top notch. Drink menu and the product out of this world. Food menu is wonderful, extensive wine list too. The only thing I have to say is that it is way overpriced for the quality of the food. Steaks were good but not a Ruth's Chris caliber yet charging those types of prices.

Horrible service and we were the first table sat! Never checked on after getting the mediocre steak and lobster and steak and prawns dinners. Had to ask the suit walking around to refill our drinks. This place is very over rated and food quality was not good at all. The lobster seemed like it was a frozen lobster as it was very difficult to cut through.
Will never be back to this very over-rated place!!

Food was once always great. Now the meat is mediocre and the other food is ok.

Forbes Mill is the best Steak house pretty much anywhere. They have a wide variety of cuts from around the world, great sides to pair them with, wonderful seafood (according to my date), and then you can finish off the meal with a lovely dessert. I've been going to Forbes since it opened many years back and they've continued to be a better restaurant over the years ... I am always excited to make a reservation there.

Forbes Mill continues it's excellence and actually keeps getting better. Order a filet and a couple of sides and you'll have an amazing meal.

Nice family dinner for 4. We had appetizer plate, steaks, salads, and a great bottle of wine. Good service. A little noisy.

The food is fantastic, but the service is super terrible. Actually, at the beginning, it looked pretty good. However, during the dinner, it started to get worst. We sat there for 30mins and waited for your waiter to come and clean up our table and give us a check. It feel like they just annoy us because we are the only Asian couple there.

The pre meal service and the post meal service was just terrible. I had to search out the waiter to pay the bill. If you get Carlo as your waiter, ask for someone else. Anyone else.

The food was excellent! Towards the end of the meal I felt like we were being rushed to leave. I finished my drink and before I could blink our waiter had picked up the glass. Other than that the experience and the food was great.

Went there on Saturday with my wife and a few friends for my birthday. Excellent service, atmosphere and food. I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened and I have always enjoyed it. I highly recommend it for a great steak and fantastic service.

Steak was great, but the soup and sides were average at best, which was a huge disappointment considering how much I paid for dinner!

We had the most beautiful Valentines/Date Night dinner! I think our server was Carlos. From start to finish, everything was prepared with delicious care. Our cocktails were tasty, the calamari was crispy and came our right away. They split our caesar salad for us and were very attentive to replacing our necessary utensils. My steak and lobster pairing was perfectly prepared, the au gratin potatoes were so creamy and the side of mushrooms were very flavorful. My husband’s filet was perfect and tender, the mac&cheese and mashed potatoes were wonderful. We finished with a hot apple crisp with vanilla gelato. We will be craving Forbes until our next date night!! Excellent service and delicious dining!
