We’ve eaten at Forbes many many times! One of our favorite restaurants! This time it was not up to its normal standards. When he brought us to our table there were only 2 chairs fir a party of 4 so we had to stand there and wait for them to bring 2 more chairs. Why would they bring us to a table that’s not set up for a party of 4? Then, they bring us bread and butter and we have no bread plates so we have to get the attention of someone to bring us bread plates before we can start eating our bread. Then, my dad didn’t have any silverware when his food arrived. At the end when we’re deciding on desert, a busboy comes and starts placing steak knives at our sides and we have to tell him he has the wrong table. We have never had such an unorganized, unprofessional, experience at Forbes before last night’s experience. However, our waiter was awesome and on top of it! We did go in March when it was still midpandemic and it was top notch!
This is the 6th or 7ty time I was at Forbes. They recently changed their menu, and maybe their chef. It doesn’t hold a candle to what it used to be, even takeout during COVID.
Their black wagyu used to be the star of the show. It was our favourite steakhouse and we always got the Wagyu. While the new wagyu is still tender, it isn’t as juicy nearly as and it was more bitter with a burnt taste. I wouldn’t get it again.
They also got rid of their tuna appetiser and have a new beef carpaccio on the menu. For some reason they decided mayo was a good idea with carpaccio - it wasn’t, made it too oily and totally not the flavour of beef carpaccio - but I understand why they did it. The meat wasn’t raw or anywhere near it - it was cooked and fairly dry so they tried to save it with the Mayo. Didn’t work.
Our food was delicious. We were sat in the direct sunlight which was a bit annoying at first and they fixed it right away by finding an umbrella. What a fantastic father's day dinner we had. Thank you!

We got there about 5 minutes after hour reservation. The waitress took us to our table and it only have one chair I sat down my wife and waited about 5-7 minutes until they brought another chair. The waitress came and asked us if we want anything we asked for appetizers which they brought up but after that it took him about 30-35 minutes to ask us if we were ready to order. When he finally approached us my wife was a little bit upset and told him that we were waiting for a while for our order to be taken. Right away he apologized and talked to another waitress to take care of our order for the rest of the evening. The new waitress Javier was very attentive and did a great job.
The food was good but a little bit pricey for what you get especially with the poor service they provided to us.
Wonderful way to celebrate a birthday family dinner. Food and service was fantastic.
Steak and sides were incredible and the wine list has a lot of good selections, although trends toward the higher end. Space could use a little updating inside.
As a professional Salesman, I've experienced many a fine steakhouse. My Ribeye last night was the best steak, hands down, that I have ever had. Cooked exactly to order, covered with a peppercorn sauce, it was spectacular!

We have been to Forbes many times and have always found it to have high quality food and service. While we were completely satisfied there were only a couple minor issue (none with flavor): out of all the veggies on the plate, the carrots were undercooked and both mine and my wife's mashed potatoes were luke-warm (they should always be served hot as they cool quickly). Now, having said that, we also asked about an item missing on the menu and our server allowed that we could go ahead and order it as a meal rather than a side (lobster tail) and my wife was ale to have her favorite item on her birthday. They also brought a special dessert plate with Happy Birthday written in dark chocolate. Also, I managed to knock an empty wine glass on the floor and break practically as soon as we sat down. They cleaned it up quickly and brushed it off with a laugh which eased my tension for having been careless. All in all, we will be back for the terrific food and top-notch service.

Dined al fresco by choice, service was on point and food was excellent had the special of the day dry aged new york steak medium rare. It was cooked perfectly.
Not often your special occasion is divorce - yet our server embraced our event and we had a delicious and quite enjoyable meal and time.

We made reservations for 8:30 arrived early but didn’t get seated until after 9:00 ..... so much for making reservations that were honored by the restaurant. Why bother requiring guests to make reservations if you are not going to adhere to them. I was disappointed that there was no apology or attempt to provide us with any type of service while we waited over 1/2 hour past our reservation time to be seated.
Waiter was great! Probably short handed but he handled things really well! Great experience since this is the first time we dined out.

Although the seating was outside (which is what we chose), it was nicely done. The service was impeccable, Ben our waiter was very pleasant and attentive. We ordered calamari and oysters as appetizers and they were great. Their freshly baked breads (hot out of the oven), we’re delicious. The French onion soup, New York steak, ribeye steak and filet were perfectly prepared. The kids loved the Mac and cheese and we loved the broccolini and asparagus. Don’t miss their delicious gelatos and sorbets.
Excellent food, impeccable service, the nest place to eat in Silicon Valley of you love steak - I also enjoyed the macadamias crusted Halibut with lemon beur blanc and pea risotto
Forbes Mill is always wonderful. The quality of the meat, the presentation and freshness of the seafood. We had the filet with Prawns along with the fried calamari. The meal was delightful.

Excellent service; great tasting meal. Great bar service. Very happy overall with this fabulous restaurant. We were seated indoors and mask rules were followed (May 21.) There were also people seated outside on the front sidewalk and heat lamps were noted.
Forbes is still one of our favorite restaurants. In fact, it’s our go to place for a special occasion. Steak was cooked to perfection. Tables were spaced a good distance apart so it felt very safe.
