Forage is a farm to table neighborhood bistro in Cambridge right off of Harvard Square. Through partnerships with local farmers, fishermen, and foragers, we offer a local, seasonal menu served in a casual setting.
The bar program at Forage delivers classically crafted cocktails that have a focus on seasonal and locally produced ingredients. Forage also boasts a carefully curated and approachable collection of organic/biodynamic wines, and a selection of beer from independent and innovative breweries.
Tuesday Wine Dinner at Forage$90.00 per person
Multiple dates availableEvery Tuesday treat yourself to a special dinner created by the dynamic wine-loving duo behind the goings-on at Forage, chef Eric Cooper and wine guru Stan Hilbert. Each week they select four wines from some of their favorite non-interventionist winemakers and pair them with a super seasonal four-course spread which you can enjoy on-site, indoors or outdoors. The Wine Dinner menu is the only menu available on Tuesdays, no a la carte available. There is an omnivore, vegetarian, or vegan option for the menu. The $90 cost is for the Food and Wine and does not include Taxes, Gratuity or add-ons, like cheese or more wine!

A delightful covered and outdoor patio with heat lamps had been created, with inviting little lights. Staff was super attentive and accommodating. My friend did not like the way the eggplant was cooked and when asked how food was, and she said "okay", she was offered a replacement meal. The char fish and accompanying couscous salad was cooked to perfection and very good. We also got 2 small plate appetizers. The mussels were great, very tender and the squash and cashews added a flavorful twist. The brussels were great, crunchy and tasty but it was difficult to cut them off the stalk. The peach cobbler with sorbet was good. There was no cream available for the coffee, only milk. Parking is a challenge .
One of the best most creative meals I've had in a while.
Great for special occasions. Wonderful service and adventurous menu.
I went to Forage for wine with a friend for my birthday. The Iggy’s bread was INCREDIBLE!!! And the Olivares rosé was beautiful. The “condiments” that come with the bread were melodious to taste and I cannot wait to go back.
Nice location, very convenient and comfortable. People very friendly, supportive on every request, servicing with the right pace, feeling like you can keep your own, no rush, no wait. Food outstanding, recommendations to be followed, no bad surprises, only tasteful and well balanced, refined food.
Overall good, both meat and veg options. The bread was terrific;the vegan butter option was amazing - even better than the dairy butter.
Food and service were poor for the amount of money we paid.
Forage is consistently wonderful, and I think it's because of the excellent staff, who truly make their guests feel at home. The food and wine list helps!
This is a go to restaurant anytime I travel to Boston. The menu changes regularly based on in season ingredients, the service is excellent, and the staff are very knowledgeable about the food ingredients and preparation. The staff also provide a detailed description about the wines including their history. However the distinguishing characteristic of Forage is the tasting menu with omnivore, pescatarian, veggie and vegan menus to satisfy a diverse group of diners. Kudos to Forage and can’t wait to return to Boston to dine here again.
Amazing outdoor date night spot. Must speak quietly which is romantic. Top cocktail game. Vegetable-forward sophisticated contemporary menu.
I give them credit for trying to be unique and different but it just doesn’t work. We got the tasting menus and our first two courses were tomatoes different ways. Mussels with butternut squash and cashews do not go together. The cheese board had watermelon on it and it just got the crackers all wet and didn’t help the meh cheese (and only one type on the cheese plate). We had high hopes for dessert but alas, it also had tomatoes and a very overpowering anise ice cream. The flavors and textures of the meal just did not work together.
Imaginative and delicious plant-based food. They also have meat and other items on the menu as well. Interesting cocktails too. Thankfully outdoor seating not near traffic.
We went to Forge for our two year anniversary dinner and it was excellent. They did wine pairings for each course. The wines were small batch wines from southern france that tasted amazing. Each course (local food + wine) had a story to accompany the meal. And the wait staff was lovely. A real treat.
About half of our dishes were what I would consider very good. Nice experience but would not go again.
Good, inventive food made with locally sourced, unique ingredients.
Best farm to table meal. The flavors of the food was balanced so well and each bite was better than the last. Will definitely come back!
I enjoy food with interesting combinations of flavor and texture and am vegetarian, so Forage seemed the perfect spot for a fancy dinner: upscale, and with many vegan/vegetarian options on the menu. We were seated quickly with just two people at a large booth, so it was relatively private and quiet. The ambience was lacking, as it was an almost unadorned basement with a few plants and cheap lights. They had one option for a non-alcoholic cocktail (Peachy Keen), which was nice if a bit too sour. Our first dish was interesting and delicious (bread with mix of sauces), but the rest were bland and unremarkable. The main course sounded amazing: buckwheat noodles in a sweet corn broth with watermelon, mushrooms, and zucchini fritters, but had no flavor and was difficult to finish. This dining experience was not worth the price.
Forage is my favorite restaurant in Boston/Cambridge. Incredibly thoughtful and well composed food, the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay for an after dinner drink or coffee, and extraordinary value. It's a great restaurant for omnivores to vegans - they really care about creating balanced and beautiful dishes for any dietary need. Plus their cocktails are insane. Just go.
Delicious food! We really enjoyed the tasting menu variety, the servers and drinks.
A bit noisy
A bit cold inside
Fish was very good as well as bread and dessert
First time. A must return. Excited to try the tasting menu!
Kind staff, delicious food.
We got the vegetarian and vegan tasting menus. It was wonderful - delicious! Inspired! Interesting! Healthy! Really super. I can’t wait to come back. ❤️
Forage is such a special place. Every meal and encounter with their offerings is so unique. The food is always so well conceived and executed and the cocktails and wines are equally delicious, exciting, and interesting. The whole staff is SUPER knowledgeable and fantastic. Cannot say enough good things about Forage!
One of my all time favorite restaurants. We rarely get to go, but it's always a magical experience!
The dishes were hit or miss.. We enjoyed our appetizers but not our entrees. Overall disappointed in the value given the price of the meal.
Came back for a second meal and did tasting menus and wine pairings. Overall, a really great experience -- the service is amazing and tasting menus (vegan and pescetarian (recommended by the server after my friend asked if she could have the omni menu without red meat)) were a hit. Definitely on the pricier end but overall definitely worth a shot
The food and wine were phenomenal. Thanks for the great dinner.
We had a great time celebrating my birthday! The staff were wonderful — both hospitable and extremely knowledgeable about the wines on the menu. The wine dinner was delicious and we appreciated the variety of the food and drink. At the end, the server gave me an extra dessert and digestifs for everyone for my bday. We will definitely go back!
Sadly, dissapointing — the service was nice but the dishes did not deliver.
eg, vegan entree was uninteresting and a bit watery, carrots with the fish were not Cooked
Service made an effort to offer a round of free drinks at the end because we were dissapointed
Pretty weak. Got the tasting menu and the wine pairings, but everything took forever. We sat there for 90 minutes and just had cold soup and a peach before the (small) entrees came out. Had to cancel courses because we didn’t want to sit there for another hour.
Went there for my vegetarian gf’s birthday but ended up being a real bummer.
Would not recommend if you can help it
UPDATE: the owner reached out and tried to make things right. Seems like it was just an off night given all the other glowing reviews. Really wishing them the best
Owner reached out and offered to refund the meal. They clearly care about customer satisfaction, and are worth giving a shot
Great staff. Food was ok but not outstanding considering the pricing. Ambience was homey and nice.
We enjoyed our birthday dinner outdoors on their patio! It was a love evening. Really nice servers, food is delicious! Definitely more expensive than we do on a regular occasion, but for a splurge it's a lovely treat.
The food was excellent as usual, but the service was really slow
though very friendly. Appetizers + Mains took nearly 2 hours and
we skipped dessert + coffee because we just needed to leave.
Forage is expensive, but not ridiculously but pretty noisy. I had to strain
to hear my friend just across a small table from me.
This is for the wine pairing meal. Wines were excellent but the food was so-so. Carrots with the main were undercooked and cucumbers in the salad were too large. Also, server presented main as catfish when the menu said flounder. Seems these specialty night meals might not be as polished as other nights'.
A gem. Incredible menu, changes daily, you can tell that it's run by people with creativity and love. Not a chain or a restaurant group.
Excellent service and friendly owner. I recommend the place for a food adventure. Nothing like you've ever eaten!
The food was delicious as always, we loved the unique dishes. The staff were amazing and very accommodating.
Not exaggerating -- our favorite place to eat in the entire greater Boston area!
