Forage is a farm to table neighborhood bistro in Cambridge right off of Harvard Square. Through partnerships with local farmers, fishermen, and foragers, we offer a local, seasonal menu served in a casual setting.

The bar program at Forage delivers classically crafted cocktails that have a focus on seasonal and locally produced ingredients. Forage also boasts a carefully curated and approachable collection of organic/biodynamic wines, and a selection of beer from independent and innovative breweries.

Every Tuesday treat yourself to a special dinner created by the dynamic wine-loving duo behind the goings-on at Forage, chef Eric Cooper and wine guru Stan Hilbert. Each week they select four wines from some of their favorite non-interventionist winemakers and pair them with a super seasonal four-course spread which you can enjoy on-site, indoors or outdoors. I never ever write reviews, but our experience last night merits one. I can’t more highly recommend Forge! The food and drinks were absolute perfection! As foodies, we loved the simple, yet creative menu. This was hands down one of the best dinners we’ve had in a long time! The ambience was perfect for an intimate date night, not too loud and not too quiet. And the staff were truly wonderful! Not only were they friendly and attentive, but also super knowledgeable about the food, cocktails, and extensive wine list. We can’t wait to go back! (We already have a list of friends to bring with us next time)

Forage is our favorite restaurant in Cambridge maybe our favorite place in Cambridge! This time, we ordered off the menu (rather than doing a tasting menu) and every dish and drink was exceptional. The staff even treated us to a couple of extra small plates. An excellent experience, as always!

Cheerful setting (somehow) in an apartment building basement. Service is very good, plenty of friendly down-to-earth people making sure things are going well. I plan to go back, good value.

Incredible food, diverse menu (and very vegetarian/vegan-friendly), and superlative service. The staff was warm and attentive without being obtrusive. We had the most wonderful meal and experience here and can't wait to come back. Forage is the perfect place for a special occasion or just a weeknight dinner out. Don't be deterred by challenging parking in the area - their directions about where to park were perfect.

I enjoyed my birthday dinner there. The only caveat I had was that the broccoli Rabe dish we had became almost inedible by the end, my girlfriend had to spit out her last bite. Otherwise the wine, other dishes and ambience were lovely and I would recommend.

Great service, a little dark, with some amazing dishes and some less amazing dishes. Highly recommend the honeynut squash and chocolate hazelnut tart!

Nice little place. A lot of vegetarian options - most excellent, the squash needed some thing more - sauce, perhaps. Great drink menu. Minor suggestions: advise about parking on the website; a little more hygge in the decor. Maybe look to Quebecquois locavore restaurants for guidance.

Forage never disappoints, and it's a destination restaurant for vegan eaters. Last night's meal featured a smoked/roasted potato and radicchio salad, a starter of bulgur wheat-filled squash, and an oat groat risotto entree. We finished the evening with a vegan cheese plate and a gorgeous slice of chocolate hazelnut torte. The cocktails were inventive and satisfying. As for the service, the waitstaff was friendly without being intrusive and knowledgeable about all the beverages and dishes. I can't wait to celebrate our next special occasion at Forage.

Very mediocre. Extremely limited menu 3 appetizers (what they call “small”) and 3 main dishes (what they call “big”) with 60% ruled out if you are eating kosher leaving you with one choice from each category. Way overpriced for the ambience and restaurant setting. Very low key place in terms of ambience and table setting and seating with prices that are far from being low It’s probably nice to go there once. I wouldn’t be going there again.

Forage is a favorite spot of ours whose focus on seasonal, local ingredients and zero waste efforts means the menu is always changing in such creative and innovate ways! As a vegan, I also love that they're able to modify dishes to accommodate my dietary needs.

Mushrooms in the appetizer were gritty. The steak was rare when we ordered medium. There was also an annoying patron who was using her phone flashlight to read the menu because the lights were too dim and the staff wouldn’t ask her to turn it off.

I went for the annual Mushroom Dinner and it was fantastic! Wish we could have opted out of the wine pairing, because 2/4 of our party don’t drink much, but the wines were all top notch! We got a thorough backstory on the second course’s pairing which was much appreciated. The food, as expected, was incredibly unique and memorable, perfect portions for a five course tasting menu. Also LOVED their cryptid/monster themed cocktail menu, so clever and the art was really fun. Can’t wait to come back once my wallet has recovered!!

My husband and I decided to have the omnivore tasting menu. I added the wine pairing and my husband had a wonderful non-alcoholic cocktail (thanks for not calling them mocktails!) All of the courses were inventive and really delicious! The wine pairings were amazing! So unusual, and complimented each course perfectly. We loved being able to talk about the food and wine with the servers, and learned a lot! We looked through their extensive wine list and were very impressed! So many really unusual wines. This restaurant is doing everything right. We can't wait to go back.

I was disappointed by the meal. We had a salad that was excellent but so tiny that it did not make it worth the price. We also got the swimming chicken, leeks, and cheese plate all which left much to be desired flavor wise as in the food was fine and edible but by no means a dish you couldn't help but clear. The prices would have been fair had the food truly been excellent.

We have eaten at Forage at least a dozen times; this is one of the few times we have ordered off the menu; we usually come on Tuesdays for the wine pairing dinner. Our meals, and the wine, were outstanding in true Forage fashion: highly creative cuisine that is delicious; terrific service, and good value.

We had a great evening for our anniversary. Very thoughtful service and nice atmosphere. The (vegan) tasting menu was an amazing addition to the menu, and it is the reason we came. However, we did feel that some dishes were not that imaginative for the price (e.g. - eggplant with beans on the side for the main course). Overall we had a great time and experienced great service, although we did feel that similarly priced restaurants had more creative flavors.

We ordered the vegetarian tasting menu and it was very well done. Really enjoyed it. The dishes ended up being vegan but so good. Parking is hard on Saturday as all spaces on the street are permit only - but that’s Cambridge for you.

We were a party of two and had the vegan tasting menu. It was all delicious-no fake meat cheating-real veggies cooked beautifully with nut cream sauces and tons of flavors. I will definitely return.

We had the 4 course dinner and wine pairing. The theme was watermelon and the dishes very creative. Forage accomidates vegetarians and vegans, and they offered to make my vegetarian menu fully vegan. I love that they support local artisans and very small batch vineyards. The watermelon rind gazpacho was delicious, and I would eat my weight in watermelon "pastrami" with mustard seed brittle. I can't wait to go back for this chef's very creative menu.
