We came back to Forage after a less-than-outstanding dining experience at the restaurant the week before. We returned because the service was excellent and we believed the food should be.
We were not disappointed! We had a fantastic dinner and experience and we will return soon! I’ll
Wonderful place but not as good as it used to be. The courses tended to be heavy and seemed out of season rather than seasonal and fresh.
Staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I got an absolutely delicious vegan tasting menu- so so good!
The food was outstanding and made all the better by the time spent with the mixologist/bartender Joe. Drinks and food were creative and flavorful. I truly love their wine dinners every Tuesday. This is a neighborhood restaurant with elevated (and mostly locally sourced and foraged) food.
I have never had a bad meal here.
Food and wine pairings were exquisite! Space was a little loud but not oppressive.
The service was impeccable as well as the pacing of the meal. Each wine was presented with a thorough and interesting explanation. Looking forward to the next wine dinner!
I’ve eaten here on every trip to Cambridge and was looking forward to another great meal. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed this time. The food and wine pairings were not what I’d come to expect.
A wonderful place to try absolutely tasty wonderful food - a greener way to think about eating!! The staff were totally helpful and accommodating menu choices or dietary needs.
Lovely ambiance. Service a bit rushed. Our entrees were on the edge of greatness - flavors were just not quite balanced. Some missed opportunities for added complexity with crunch, sourness, bitterness, etc. The combination of red wine and shitake mushrooms clashed for me. (Nettle biscuit was fun and tasty, though.) Chocolate semi-freddo was a bit too sweet / not salty enough / not enough cacao nibs for crunch. Good concepts overall.
Our Vegan friend totally thought the food exceeded his needs. One of the diners did not like the John Dory. We liked it, but we thought the breading would be lighter. The wines, the greens the wheat berries, all excellent. Our server was enthusiastic and attentive. He was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and the foods.
The staff was attentive and informative without being overbearing or obnoxious.
The food was great. We loved the local, fresh, in season food cooked in really interesting ways. So good.
The cocktails and wines were unique and complimented the food and atmosphere perfectly.
We will be back.
Great meal, staff food and drink all fantastic! They also were very accomodating to last minutes changes in our reservation.
This was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! The staff was excellent, and the food was perfect. Was worth the price!
Amazing experience. Fantastic through and through. A wonderful evening.
Wonderful for vegetarians and vegans! It isn't often a restaurant serving everyone has so many options for it's veggie diners. Excellent cocktails great service. Love this place!
This was our second visit, and much better than the previous one. We skipped the tasting menu and the wine pairings (I still recommend it) this time. The menu was different from last time, which was great as it brought fresh local ingredients to our plate. The asparagus appertif was our favorite, full of flavor and just the right amount of crunchy. I had the scup and my partner had the pasta. The scup was perfect- crispy skin with fresh tangy tabbouleh to balance. We liked the pasta a little less as the sauce was creamy and heavy (full of flavor though). We will come back when the menu turns around again!
We got 2 vegetarian dishes , one was a pasta, the other a veg and bean dish, both delicious and satisfying, we also got the skirt steak which was amazing as well. Cocktails were also very good with unusual botanical ingredients . We will definitely come back!
Few of the dishes missed the spot.
I admire their creativity and passion for experimentation. Execution, however, is sometimes sophomoric.
Best restaurant in Boston area. Highest quality ingredients, including grass-fed meats.
Can't wait to go back. Food was awesome and Joe was the best. His explanations and interaction made the evening.
Food was horrible. My steak was 80% fat. No idea what some of the weeds we were eating as well
Stan was incredibly friendly and attentive. Great environment. Some of the freshest food and loved the unique drinks.
The food and wine are superb here. Stan and Joe amazing. Cannot wait to return and attend another Tuesday night wine dinner!
The food was uneven. Some was outstanding, other parts (the vegan options) not so much. Also the chacuterie plate could have been a bit more generous. Having said that, we look forward to coming back on our next trip to Cambridge.
Service was great but the food came up way short, even if the cost was half as much it was not a good value. Won’t return
I love this little garden level gem. The staff is warm, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food is fresh and light, with unique blends of textures, colors, and flavors. Highly recommend if you want to venture off the beaten path!
Great service and setting. Only problem was over-salting in the entree course
Wonderful food. A great chef who prepared us a special appetizer (fiddleheads sautéed in olive oil with lemon zest)
and a great waiter (thanks, Stan).
Maybe the best vegetarian dinner I have ever had.
One of the best restaurants in the city with impeccable service, tastes and attention to detail.
Cozy Birthday dinner for 7. Enjoyed the prix fixe
Menu. Tremendous amounts of delicious food and bread.
delicious food - since prepared by order, it took a while - take time to linger
Creative wonderful food and service. It's on the pricey side for sure but if you want the freshest food in town with the most creative chef this is the place!
Personal service. Attention to detail. Theme dinner.
the only reason not to recommend is so I can get in when I want. It was full but not crazy. No espresso. That's the only caveat.
Creative, quality food. Tasting menu w/ pairing = great price.
Just a perfect evening from start to finish. The food courses accompanied by wine were interesting and unusual and fit together seamlessly. The waitstaff were knowledgeable and attentive. Lovely dining experience.
One of the best meals I’ve had. Stan, the owner, was phenomenal and went above and beyond with service.
I recommend Forage mostly for their wine pairings and the fair price for the same. The tasting menu was average and nothing extra-ordinary. I was looking for more creativity and items that I cannot easily make at home (example the roast potato dish) or find in the super-market (lemon poppy seed cake for dessert).
One of the best restaurants in Cambridge. Service is unparalleled, and food is experimental, interesting, and delicious.
