Best restaurant in Boston area. Highest quality ingredients, including grass-fed meats.
Can't wait to go back. Food was awesome and Joe was the best. His explanations and interaction made the evening.
Food was horrible. My steak was 80% fat. No idea what some of the weeds we were eating as well
Stan was incredibly friendly and attentive. Great environment. Some of the freshest food and loved the unique drinks.
The food and wine are superb here. Stan and Joe amazing. Cannot wait to return and attend another Tuesday night wine dinner!
The food was uneven. Some was outstanding, other parts (the vegan options) not so much. Also the chacuterie plate could have been a bit more generous. Having said that, we look forward to coming back on our next trip to Cambridge.
Service was great but the food came up way short, even if the cost was half as much it was not a good value. Won’t return
I love this little garden level gem. The staff is warm, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food is fresh and light, with unique blends of textures, colors, and flavors. Highly recommend if you want to venture off the beaten path!
Great service and setting. Only problem was over-salting in the entree course
Wonderful food. A great chef who prepared us a special appetizer (fiddleheads sautéed in olive oil with lemon zest)
and a great waiter (thanks, Stan).
Maybe the best vegetarian dinner I have ever had.
One of the best restaurants in the city with impeccable service, tastes and attention to detail.
Cozy Birthday dinner for 7. Enjoyed the prix fixe
Menu. Tremendous amounts of delicious food and bread.
delicious food - since prepared by order, it took a while - take time to linger
Creative wonderful food and service. It's on the pricey side for sure but if you want the freshest food in town with the most creative chef this is the place!
Personal service. Attention to detail. Theme dinner.
the only reason not to recommend is so I can get in when I want. It was full but not crazy. No espresso. That's the only caveat.
Creative, quality food. Tasting menu w/ pairing = great price.
Just a perfect evening from start to finish. The food courses accompanied by wine were interesting and unusual and fit together seamlessly. The waitstaff were knowledgeable and attentive. Lovely dining experience.
One of the best meals I’ve had. Stan, the owner, was phenomenal and went above and beyond with service.
I recommend Forage mostly for their wine pairings and the fair price for the same. The tasting menu was average and nothing extra-ordinary. I was looking for more creativity and items that I cannot easily make at home (example the roast potato dish) or find in the super-market (lemon poppy seed cake for dessert).
One of the best restaurants in Cambridge. Service is unparalleled, and food is experimental, interesting, and delicious.
I previously wrote about a poor experience, tonight was significantly better in service, food and experience. Very good job!
Great food, excellent service. I recommend the tasting menu. They even have parking!
Great creative and modern American restaurant with awesome drinks and wines. Will definitely come back again!
A combination of attentive service, great food and reasonable pricing made for a very nice dinner. We shared the vegetarian tasting menu and mezze plate - all excellent (cutting back on salt in the mushroom ragu would have made it all 5 stars). We'll be back to try the wine pairing.
Always love this place that is a cross between a cozy neighborhood restaurant and a culinary experience. Great wines and knowledgable staff.
Delicious, well composed prix fixe menu with wine pairings at very reasonable price.
Forage is a favorite for its creative approach to food. Fresh ingredients, original combinations, welcoming ambience. They let the food speak for itself and do not over-butter and over-salt. Sunday and Tuesday night prix fix menus are good value and every bit as good as Saturday night meals.
Ambitious and interesting, and expensive as you would expect...
Perfect for omnivore, vegetarian, and vegan alike. Also, an excellent spot for folks who value locally sourced ingredients, humanely raised meat, organic produce, fermentation, unique cocktails and a staff that genuinely loves their craft. Highlights were the mussels, a rose egg white foamy drink concoction, and the most delectable tenderloin of my life with a green garlic bread pudding. The grand finale was a zero-waste tomato sorbet that rocked my world. Go here. Learn about the food. Enjoy the show!
Forage is a natural organic farm-to-table restaurant. They offer a la carts and Prix fixe meals, including vegetarian and vegan options. I had the 4 course vegetarian Prix fixe menu. Overall I would call the food decent but nothing exceptional. The carmelized onion soup was quite good as well as the mille feuille entree. The tofu and greens salad was just about passable. The dessert was a poppy seed cupcake on a carrot puree. Unfortunately it was very dry and the carrot combo didn't work.
Service is very friendly though not attentive since there were 2 people serving the entire restaurant including tending the bar, so we had to wait a few times each to catch their attention. The wine list is unusual, eclectic and well priced. We were recommended a Priorat, which none of us had any experience with and we enjoyed it. We were impressed with the staff's wine knowledge.
Overall I would say that the premise is good but the execution didn't live up to the promise. If the dessert and been better I would have given it 4 stars.
The servers were so personable and lovely to chat with! My boyfriend and I always love the description behind every wine and everything was delicious!! The bar has the best atmosphere and comfy ambiance. Thanks a million!!
Our guests enjoyed the wine pairing dinner greatly. We had a great time- as in our previous visits.
I wish I could eat like this at every meal! We came for our anniversary dinner (his first time, I had been once with friends) and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the evening. He had the steak, and I had the vegetarian tasting, which was no problem for the staff. Every plate was unique and delicious, as was the wine - a Sagrantino! The atmosphere is intimate, and though a bit loud at times, they did a great job of optimizing the space. We appreciated all the special touches that made the night so memorable, we will surely be back!
We had an excellent meal - although we came for the vegetables, we ordered their chicken and steak, where were tremendous and definitely the best things.
One of the few restaurants where the main courses surpassed the appetizers. Everyone enjoyed their meals
We had a great bottle of wine, and a couple cocktails in a large group.
Service was very kind despite us being a fairly particular group. We could always hear each other, but it's a small space so got full and loud.
We will be back.
Simply exceptional. Everyone, give it your business and keep restaurants like this thriving!
Forage never disappoints! We love the attention to detail, ever-changing food and cocktail menus, and the service is spectacular! Staff is knowledgeable and kind!
Excellent service and attentive staff. The food was great with the exception of one entree which was sent back. The staff bent over backwards to make amends.
The food was bad. We had the four-course vegetarian tasting menu. One course was sweet potatoes, and they were very much under-done in the middle. The main course was a mushroom "mole" that was far inferior to anything you could get in East Boston for a fraction of the price. The wine pairings were fine.
