Great little restaurant for casual dining
Food was good and service was great
They were very helpful and accommodating with our order. Nice ambiance and had a good time
The food was so good. Went to brunch with some friends, we ordered the nutella waffle, chilaquiles and the chocolate chip pancakes and they were all so yummy! I had a michilada so I wish they had more choices for beer but it was good with what they offered me. My only gripe is that when we walked in they seated us immediately (let me finish) but later I received an email from Open Table lecturing me about not showing up to my reservations because I guess Foothill Restaurant told them I never showed up for it. I did show up (obviously) but they didn't ask if I had a reservation and/or if it was with Open Table in the first place. I guess some training of the staff to ask that question if they are expecting a reservation? Other than that, the experience was really good! Can't wait to go back!
If your the owner and you are visiting guest you should visit all tables - so wondering why no visit to our table? (one could draw conclusions) - Can see this becoming a "neighborhood regulars spot"good luck with that. Vegetarian options - not one on the "Farm" menu. Trust me veterinarians have money and want more that salad. I think you have good value but cant bring my vegetarian friends.
Our food was good for the cost - but if you have Stroganoff you should have some "sour" to it - it was creamy but bland. 4 stars out of 5 (ok 3.8)
Oh - sorry on a roll - the wall that separates the bar from the west tables is too high - if I could see the bar I might be tempted.................
What a neat little spot!!! Food and service was on point!!! Make sure to have the portabello fries!!
Music is too loud as my seat is closed to DJ station. More relax music is suggested during breakfast and brunch hours.
Had the special fish, bacon wrapped shrimp with mushroom farro risotto and asparagus. It was smoky good and delicious! The beef stroganoff was goodcas well.
the atmosphere is very nice and the service rocks. The food is very delicious and fresh. We appreciate the value and connection the waitresses have made with us.
Really enjoyed our evening. Service was great as was the food and drinks.
I've been to Foothill Restaurant a few times now and the ambiance is very nice. However, this past Sunday i thought I'd give it a try for Sunday Brunch. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and she really wanted to go somewhere with "endless" Mimosas. The Mimosas were great but unfortunately the rest of the experience was not up to par. The coffee was only lukewarm and breakfast fare was mediocre at best. When our food was delivered we noticed there were no salt and pepper shakers on the table and there was no jam provided for the toast. When our waiter was no where to be seen i decided to try to catch the eye of the Manager who was standing by the front door. Sadly he was completely inattentive and made not attempt to check on his customers. I really hate it when Managers fail to watch what is going on in their restaurant and neglect to offer a helping hand to their obviously worked wait staff. Anyway, after a shout across the room the Manager came over and I asked him for salt, pepper, and jam. Do you think he went and grabbed it for us? No he didn't, he merely passed on the request to another already overworked waiter. Seriously? Get with the program! You're supposed to me a manager, learn to manage and lead by example.
Great Sunday Brunch!
The hostess there was the ONLY good thing about this restaurant. The food was awful, atmosphere was terrible and service was very inconsistent.
Go there EVERY Saturday for dinner and live music. Lovely cozy place with great food as well as staff.
This was our first time for dinner (we’d eaten lunch/brunch a couple of times) and we had a great experience. The food was delicious. We started with the Grilled Artichoke appetizer w/ 2 dips (butter & mayo/dill). VERY good. My wife had the Lemon Chicken w/grilled veggies. EXCELLENT! I had the Shepherd’s Pie. Also EXCELLENT! Great flavor . . .actually better than Mom used to make! BOTH entrees were sizeable enough to split unless you have a big appetite, so be prepared for a lot of food. We will definitely return to try some of the other menu items!
Amazing! Server was awesome, went for Sunday brunch and it completely exceeded all my expectations.
We ordered steak salad and beef stroganoff, the food was delicious. Besides alcohol drinks, there’s nothing shown in the drink menu for non alcoholic beverage at all. Other then, everything is good
Great service, great host, and just overall good place to be with family.
The live music featuring Casey McCreary was our real draw...FANTASTIC!!! AND we enjoyed a delicious and varied dinner between us three. The place was packed..... but there needs to be something done about the extreme noise level... it was definitely difficult to converse over the crowd! Our waiter and the host were so very accommodating and polite! Well worth the visit!
My spouse & I went to have dinner here after attending a play at the Pasadena Playhouse. The food was delicious! The service was excellent! Unfortunately we missed the live music from 7-10 pm on Saturdays. The place was getting busy when we left at 6 pm. We will definitely return for either their Sunday brunch or late dinner.
Hostess was a bit rude upon our arrival. There were several empty tables yet she made us wait and then grabbed a water soaked rag and cleaned off a dirty table. She then sat us there where it was still wet from the rag, instead of sitting us at an available table. We then waited 5 minutes to get service from the waitress. She came over and asked if we wanted water and we said yes. By then we already had plenty of time to review the menu so we ordered our food right away. We get our food 15-20 minutes later and still no water at our table but we did get the drinks we ordered. We get our meals from someone else and our waitress had not come to check on us. We asked if we can get water and ketchup for our meal to the person that dropped off our meal and she said she would let our waitress know. We then knew we should start eating because she still had not checked on us. Mind you that this isn’t a big place. Just seemed that she was purposely being slow and didn’t look like she wanted to be there. I was almost done with my meal when she was walking behind me and my friend asked if we can get the waters and ketchup. It took her a few minutes to come back to our table and I was done with my meal by then. Didn’t finish all of it because it was bland. No salt or pepper on the tables and no condiments readily available. I didn’t enjoy my first experience at this restaurant. I do plan on returning and seeing if there is a better experience.
We found this restaurant through a search on the internet. We had the best time, particularly due to great service by our waiter Ben. Food was good. Atmosphere was nice. We plan to make it a regular haunt!
This is the revamped version of Twohey's Tavern that originally opened about a year ago, and was surprisingly pretty bad, being an offshoot of Twohey's in Alhambra, that has been successful for decades! At that time, service and food both needed a lot of work.
To their credit, the owners realized this (after a lot of bad reviews), closed the place, revamped it, reopened with a new name, menu and crew, and it paid off! Not perfect, but getting there!
I found Foothill on Yelp. Was looking for a place to brunch prior to a matinee at A Noise Within. The reviews were good so I booked a reservation. The restaurant is very new with a fresh, bright interior. Great ambience and extra points for comfy chairs! The brunch menu was great. All three of us had different dishes and we all thoroughly enjoyed them. Great service as well.
We thought the drinks were great and so were the appetizers. We were disappointed in our entrees and we waited 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. I would go back for the bar and small bites. Our server was great and really read our table well! The staff was friendly and welcoming. I just wish there was more of an acknowledgement of our wait time and the obvious fact that they forgot about us and our reservation.
Everything about dinner at foothill was superb. Our server was a delight. The food was delicious. My steak was cooked PERFECTLY. Please don’t tell anybody how great this place is. I don’t want it to be crowded.
The food was excellent and service was very goood considering how crowded it was. The restaurant has a live DJ on Sundays which was loud making it difficult to carry on a conversation or even speak with the service staff. I plan on being back but not on Sundays.
We decided to try this place for Sunday brunch. I ordered buttermilk pancakes and my boyfriend ordered the foothill burrito. The portions are big and the bottomless mimosas are great! There is music played during Sunday brunch, makes for a lively environment. We will definitely be coming back.
First time enjoying this gem. I would enthusiastically recommend it. The music of Brazilian soft jazz was the perfect ambiance for a thoroughly wonderful meal. Food was superior- well presented and served. Will return many times.
Food was great, service great, drinks great. Need we say more?
THe "bozzie" brunch was a great idea, a live dj and lot of cocktails, but, the service lacked attention.
We had to ask the waiter for simple things that should have already been on the table and he did not come back to ask what we wanted. Perhaps the music was too loud and he didn't hear our request. The food was OK for breakfast, the hashbrowns were greenish and very dry small portions. It was noticeably that older patrons were perturb with the loud music, and couldn't hear each other speak.
This restaurant is my new go-to for Sunday’s brunch! They have a DJ playing music every Sunday. It was an exciting and fun environment. The staff was INCREDIBLE. We barely had a wait for anything and multiple people checked on us including the manager. They have amazing bloody Mary’s and mixed drinks and they also have a buttonless mimosa option. To top it all of the food was the BEST I’ve had in awhile! The chicken and waffles were delicious and so was the biscuits and gravy! It’s so convent to book a reservation online so you show up and don’t have to wait. Definitely recommend!
Great food, cute and comfortable but very loud! Live jazz music was outstanding!
Overall Good. Fish Tacos and Portabello fries were stars. short rib tacos a bit greasy and too many grilled onions. Gonna try steak salad or sliders next time. Isaiah's service was great though the bar was slow getting drinks out. Really don't like the row of high-top tables along the wall.. noise behind you without being able to see what's going on is disconcerting.
Service was really great! Our server was super friendly and went above and beyond to provide q great service.
Great food, service and ambiance but the music was way too loud. I had to scream at my friends.
We enjoyed our visit to Foothill Restaurant. Probably will come back and order a bit differently. More towards the small bites and maybe a salad to follow. Couple of thoughts. I'm pretty familiar with cocktail prices and portions in the city. $12 for a Manhattan that was that small is pretty high. Manhattan was very good, but there should have been another ounce or two for that price. I had the pork chop -- it was good and cooked as I had asked MRare. Two people had salads and both commented that they were good. One had the rib eye and had asked for it to be MRare, but it looked more well done to me. I was pleasantly surprised to find Illahe Pinot Noir on the list. A very good wine -- thanks. Our biggest issue was service. Waiter first approached table, knelt down, put elbows on table and wanted to be our friend. I HATE this kind of service. Had to ask for a wine list. That was probably a hostess problem. Later, when we had ordered a bottle of wine, he told us that you were out of it. Asked if we would like to order something else. I said I needed to see a list so I could decide. When he came to tell us about the 86'd wine, he should have had a wine list. We ordered some onion rings. Had to ask for plates. I had to ask for a knife when my wedge came. Just little things that, when added up, make it just a bit unpleasant. And service can very easily make or break a visit. We'll be back. Good people own this restaurant and they more than deserve a second and third chance. And we love supporting independents.
They need to get it together on the service!!
30 minutes before cocktails arrived ( and the restaurant was almost empty!)
Food came for our party all at different times! wanted to wait for others food....but geez! would be cold!
Ordered the famous chocolate sundaes for dessert..... were going to tell them after 1/2 hour to forget it1 Was worth the wait.... almost..... did they have to go to the corner store to buy the ice cream? Geeez!
Will probably go back... want to give them a chance
We discovered immediately that conversation was not possible as the noise level from the music was terrible. We moved to another table and commented to the manager...but, the response was not one of caring. No accommodation. It is disappointing.
REALLY LOUD! I’ll say it again...Really Really loud! The owner/manager is trying out music Friday and Saturday nights and during Sunday brunch. We went on a Saturday and there was a band of old Rockers, who were loud and generally off key. But the audience/diners didn’t seem to mind because they all seemed to know the band members as they were table hopping, shimmying in the aisles and singing along. But honestly you could not hear a thing. We were at a small table for two and every other word was “What? I can’t hear you “ “ Never mind, I’ll tell you when we get home “.
The food is good as are the drinks but we won’t go back on a night we know music is playing because we just want a neighborhood place where we can have a nice meal and have a chance to talk and enjoy a night out. This wasn’t enjoyable at all.
Very fun atmosphere with the live band on a saturday night. The guests were all up and dancing. A lot of fun.
A very trendy new restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley. A varied menu that will meet everyone's tastes.
