Open for Lunch, Weekend Brunch, Happy Hour and Dinner, Foothill Restaurant is an exciting new addition to Pasadena!
I went to celebrate my birthday and my server Tamra was amazing. I loved Tamra!
I would have given Foothill Restaurant 5 stars BUT went for Sunday brunch and the food was good but the noise level was way too loud. Because there really isn't any accoustical buffer like insulation in the ceiling and noise is enhanced from everyone talking having a DJ playing music way too loud ruined the brunch. My guests and I couldn't carry on a normal conversation without yelling and straining our ears to hear one another.
The food was very tasty, sliders and fish tacos (which were a bit lite on the "fish").
t he service was e xcellent.
We ordered a glass of wine during happy hour and a VERY small pour was served to us. We figured it was he happy hour pour and we thought that was ok. Later in the meal, we ordered another glass of the same wine, same size and it was almost twice the price of the happy hour glass. That didn't set very well.
We were seated at a table where the sun shown directly in our eyes - they need to get some outside shades and fix that. I might go back, but it probably would not be any time soon.
It was my second visit to Foothill, and the experience was just as nice as the first. A friend and dined early on Friday night before heading up to the Sierra Madre Playhouse, where we are front-of-house volunteers from time to time. We were worried about having time to enjoy our dinner within only about a 75-minute time span. I ordered the split pea-with-bacon soup, and it was delicious. My entree was the salmon salad, and it also was excellent. My friend ordered the large (and it WAS large!) bone-in pork chop with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Enjoyed it immensely and took about half of the chop home. We ended up having time for dessert, so we split an order of creme brulee with raspberries. One of the best I've had, and certainly enough for two (very rich). Service was on spot and very friendly. Just reinforced my belief that Twohey's has a real hit with this upscale - yet affordable - addition. We will be back!
Our server, Tamara, was very attentive and had good recommendations on appetizers, entrees, and cocktails. Food was very tasty and interior was comfy and hip!
My big problem was that The Foothill restaurant did not honor my reservation I made with Open Table. Perhaps you need to have a conversation with them. Although they did seat us in the restaurant, Management didn’t seem to care much that I had a confirmed reservation. Nor did they call and tell me there was a problem. Thank goodness there were plenty of tables available in the restaurant at that time because it could have been a really big problem.
We each had something different: I had the blackened shrimp and pesto which was outstanding; my wife had the beef short ribs; and our friends had the beef stroganoff and the mahi-mahi. It was no problem for them to sub-out the leek risotto and replace with potatoes. It was less crowded on a Sunday night to have a conversation and catchup.
Best restaurant near Noise Within theater
Tamara our waitress was amazing . Good service good food good atmosphere
We were the first to arrive. We really enjoyed the restaurant. I recommended the short beef hash! It was delicious. Th best I have had. My friend ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict. The crab cakes were so good. You really can’t go wrong ordering either one. Definitely will be back.
Great food, great service, and a great vibe.
Great local restaurant that has a warm yet modern ambience, is well appointed, has some great mixed drinks on the menu, solidly prepared comfort food, and some excellent desserts. We'll be going back for sure.
I went on Sunday and the noise level was extreme. The tables are too close together and there was a DJ to make the loudness even worse.
The food was overpriced and average.
I had a great time at brunch! The DJ was super awesome and kept the vibe fun and energetic. The food was delicious and the drinks were perfect. I definitely tell everyone to check out their brunch and happy hour.
Very loud. Food is EXTREMELY salty. Nice service, clean and stylish atmosphere.
very pleasant atmosphere with great wait staff. The prices were reasonable, the food tasty and many selections on the menu. For happy hour they had many selections with a good variety.
The food was good. Service was good at the begining, then our waitress disappeared and never came back. The music on Sunday was good, but very loud. We were sitting in the front, it would have been nicer to sit at another table. Be sure to sit further back if you're not into really loud music while dining.
Ambiance, food, service and crafted cocktails all amazing!
Location, ambiance, service outstanding. Bar service and wines are great! We've been to Foothill five times. Each time was better than the last. Creative menu; some dishes are excellent, especially the fresh fish of the day. The Caesar salad needs revamping, but the onion rings were great. Sure miss the wonderful fried chicken from the previous iteration of this restaurant. We'll be back.
Great menu. Great food. Great service. Clean and quiet. I can’t wait to go back and try the brunch menu.
Good experience, our first visit and everything went well. Our server, Caroline, was very attentive and had no problem with recommending dishes we inquired about. The food was as described, came in a timely manner. Drinks also nice, good wine list also. We'll be returning for sure!
Very warm staff, great food, great cocktails and wine. Lights are a little bright and on the cool side of the spectrum but this place is excellent down to the bathroom wallpaper.
It was one of the only places I could get a last minute reservation for Valentine's Dinner. It had received good reviews, so I decided to try it. I was very happy with the choice. Although the tables are close and it is very loud, the service and food more than made up for it. We were a few minutes early for our reservation and were seated promptly. Our drink orders were taken almost immediately. We ordered the deviled egg appetizer, which was outstanding. My Valentine ordered the salmon, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the coffee braised short ribs, which were so tender and had such great flavor. It appeared as though everyone around us were enjoying their meals just as much. For such a busy night, everything was fantastic. I would definitely go again.
We live within walking distance to Foothill Restaurant and visited for the first time on Valentines day, which is also my husbands birthday.
We were a little skeptical since we did not have a positive experience at the previous restaurant in that location, but a close friend suggested we try again.
From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcome and wonderfully surprised by the whole experience. The food was outstanding, service was fantastic and hospitality was unlike any other restaurant in the area. We felt like it was our regular spot...and it was our first time.
We will definitely be back! Our restaurant standards are high, as I'm a good cook and a foodie and we are usually dissappointed with our meals out...but Foothill did not disappoint!!
GRrrreat food. And - My new go-to place for Shepherd's Pie.
Thx to Tamara for your patience and super service.
Our go-to place.
My wife and I have been about 5 times. Happy Hour is great. Specials are awesome.
Service is fantastic. They have always been accommodating.
Food was cold when it came out, portions small for the cost. Great brunch music from the DJ, fun atmosphere, not so great food.
Great new hometown spot! D.J.'s spin great music! My feet are tapping and my body is moving along with my mouth. Food is delicious and the atmosphere is phenomenal!
Foothill is a new favorite of mine since I live in the neighborhood. The servers are very friendly, the atmosphere is fun and trendy, and the food is delicious; especially the burger!
Really enjoyed the small bites offered for happy hour that was available at lunch. The artichoke (not on hh menu) was delicious especially with the two dipping sauces. Came here for a friend’s birthday who got a complimentary hot fudge sundae which was a throwback to Twoheys. Nice lunch place in Pasadena.
Fantastic place! I have been twice in 8 days. Great addition to the Pasadena food scene. Modern upscale environment. Friendly and attentive staff. Ben and Sebastian are both fantastic servers. Tell Herscel Sanders the new GM that Leonard sent you!!
Definitely recommend, but be aware that there's a DJ on Sundays at 11. It's not too loud, but I'd pick a table away from the door and the DJ to linger a little longer. Here's my ONLY gripe - We arrived early - nearly at opening- and were probably the second or third group of people in the restaurant. For some reason, rather than sprinkle guests throughout the restaurant on arrival, the hostess filled the tables in order...we were right near the door and the next party was seated right next to us. They asked to be moved, which she kindly accommodated...and she did it with the next arrival and so on. Once the restaurant is full, I totally get it. But while there's a chance of some privacy, offer it up.
Overall a great brunch - we'll be back often.
A very nice place. Sort of an upscale diner look. Sharp but simple, understated decor and very comfortable. Has a full bar. Tends towards popular American food entrees and all very capably prepared. Remarkably reasonably priced as well. Service is quite friendly and attentive.
So first visit and it was very pleasant, a bit noisy because of the Football game so we were okay with that. The Restaurant in done in depressing Grey and no life other than the guests and the servers, to the dreary point. WE were happy with our food selections and the chef did a very good job. Yes I will go back and yes I would recommend, but I would be selective about the time of day and who I would entertain there.
So disappointed. I read the reviews and selected Foothill. I was taking my out of town clients to dinner and wanted the best. Place was kinda empty for a Wednesday night at 7pm. Now I know why. Got the deviled eggs - delicious! Got the artichoke appetizer - greasy and barely able to scrape off a tidbit. A dime sized heart. My clients had never eaten an artichoke before. I had to tell them this wasn't the experience to base their opinions on eating an artichoke! We all ordered the Steak Frites, mine with frites, one with broccolini, one with potatoes. We got the steaks and of course, my was overcooked. Brown all through in spite of a medium rare order. Also not surprising because the steak was so thin. They did promptly replace it. Now digging in I could see the steak was very fatty. Also, there were some sautéed onion on the top and a pat of butter, just to make it ever fattier. No sear. My two guests agreed politely. My "frites" were not what I was expecting, but that's OK if they were good. They were thick big no flavor fries. That was it. Very disappointing. I apologized to my guests promising to take them somewhere better next time.
This was my first time here. I went on a Sunday at 11am. The atmosphere was pretty lively. There was a DJ playing a good variety of music but it was a little too loud for me. I was there to catch up with a friend and I couldn’t hear her at times.
They offer a good selection of brunch food but I wish they would have also made their lunch menu available at that time to give a little more variety. The prices were good and the service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive.
The parking lot is pretty small but there is plenty of street parking, if you don’t mind doing a little walking.
The short ribs were amazing!
Great little place in Pasadena with live music.
Excellent food and Tamara was the best
