Food 101 Ratings and Reviews
This was my first time trying this restaurant. I went on a Monday with a friend I had not seen in a couple of years. We sat at the bar. The staff was super friendly and engaging. We ordered a meat and cheese plate and the Lavender citrus salmon.
The charcuterie was very tasty, but cheeses were not very unique.
The salmon was perfectly cooked. I'm hooked.
We had cocktails and wine. The cocktails were inventive and well made. I'd like to try more of them. I was a little concerned all the wines that are offered by the bottle are also offered by the glass. There were many open wine bottles and I did not see dates on them. It made me leary to order a glass.
The food lives up to it's name. It's a little on the pricy side, but for a special dinner I definitely recommend it.
The food is amazing. However, the service changes the overall experience. They were short staffed. Many employees were upset and throwing tantrums because their falcons' team took a loss. So unprofessional.
Our waiter left in the middle of our e-mail and we were left with one waitress who was taking care of the whole restaurant.
It's time for you to revisit Food 101. 101 is playing its "A" game again! The return of Chef Ron, who was one of the original chefs when the restaurant first opened is turning out many of the 101 classics plus some new offerings...all with great consistency. The appetizer pastrami gravlax is a special treat. Also the bar program features several barrel aged Manhattan drinks that are worth the trip.
It felt a little overpriced for the quality of the food. The fried chicken came out warm and soggy, obviously sat under the warmer for a while. The wife’s blackened salmon was overly spicy (even for me). The meat and cheese board was decent, but nothing special. We really liked 101 Steak, but Food 101 just didn’t quite measure up.
Very average unimaginative food. Have had much better cheaper meals at Carrabbas. Based decision to go here upon the 4 star open table rating. 4 of us had different dishes and no one said they would come back again. Now I am going to have trouble trusting the open table reviews. I should have been suspicious when there were many reservations available on a Friday night
My husband and I had a great time. We had never been there before, and enjoyed every moment. Ashley was a great server. He enjoyed the ribs, which was very tender. I enjoyed the steak salad and 3 side that I had to take home. We would definitely return and request Ashley''s section!
We had a 0730 reservation and arrived early for our annual Christmas eve dinner out. The waitress was rushed, short and curt in her answers. We had to ask multiple times for the "specials" and the restaurant was already out of a number of items. The food took extremely long to come to the table after ordering and was cool-cold, and the salmon appeared under-cooked. The item we asked for "to go" (the short ribs) for our son who was working that night was incorrect as we were given the chicken. Most importantly, the manager never came to the table to apologize for the delays, we never got an explanation, and it was clear that a number of other customers left without getting their food.
Overall a very disappointing dinner on every level.
There was a nice selection of food offered during the Sunday brunch. Each dish ordered was delicious with good sized portions. I would've provided a five star experience, but the alcohol beverages weren't impressive. The mimosas had a better value, and you were able to pour your own glass.
On a recent Saturday night visit, Food 101 was almost empty. Deservedly so. 101 Concepts has managed to ruin what was once a very good restaurant. A completely revised menu has replaced long time favorites with dishes that are bland and unappetizing. Highly competent and friendly veterans of the wait staff are all gone. The new chef is reported to be deaf to criticism. Staff morale is reported to be very low. While loyal customers for many years, we won't be back.
Dish had to be remade and instead of taking bAck piece of chicken that was a problem the whole dish was taken to be remade. When it came back, the chicken on the plate was 1/2 the size of the original chicken I had. Server was nice, but really should have noticed especially since dish arriving incorrectly was his entry of the order
We went for Thanksgiving this year (2017). We absolutely love this restaurant and go every other year for thanksgiving. While the all the food was good I was sad to see the lamb left the menu. The maple braised brussel sprouts were very pungent with oregano and thyme to the point that I couldn’t stomach them. Please know that I am just giving you constructive criticism, I understand the holidays get busy but maybe have the option of over-seasoning on the side. We will be back as I stated, we love this restaurant.
The manager met me and my date at the hostess station and immediately sat us down. The waiter was professional and informed us of the specials on the night's menu. The food was prepared in a timely fashion and we did not have to wait long for our food. Overall, experience was good.
Pretty good neighborhood bar/restaurant. We sat in the bar area to enjoy a football game. Service was excellent, food was good, a little salty. The chef did come out to visit us and each table asking our opinion. Will go back and try other menu items another time.
