Fontana Sushi - 534 E. Alameda Location
Best sushi I’ve ever had. And the best miso soup ever! I love this place. Will definitely be back soon.
Pushy servers. Good food but no atmosphere. Would not come back. There are better sushi options
From the Open Table App this place sounded like an amazing place to grab sushi, what a disappointment! Upon entering the restaurant the place was mildly busy. We were seated right away and greeted with a nonchalant attitude and dirty silverware and plates! Once our order was placed we were excited to try the sushi bc of other amazing reviews! Well, the monkey ball and spider man rolls were great but everything else was subpar. We asked for another tea and were blown off. As an interracial couple our service was not like other tables. Once we asked for the check 🧾 our server proceeded to throw a piece of paper at our table then walk off! I would stay as far away from this place as possible. The food doesn’t seem fresh, the drinks and cleanliness could easily end up on Gordon Ramsey’s 24 hours to hell and back. I have never been so disappointed, disrespected and just unsatisfied. Steer clear, I recommend sushi Rama, hapa, bonzai or sushi hai!
Great atmosphere for food and conversation. I loved my California rolls & spicey tuna rolls. We had to ask for more water and our check, but we got our food quickly.
Everyone there is great! Sushi is very fresh and they make some amazing flavors to accompany the sushi.
Awesome rolls! Haven’t had one we didn’t love yet!
Great service, wonderful food.
I was upset that there was no communication that when we booked online for reservations it would not allow us to use or Groupon. No one communicated that. I was very unhappy and would not recommend
I was visiting Denver for a girl’s weekend- we opted for sushi one night. The rolls were tasty, (get the fresh wasabi- changed my wasabi life!!), very friendly staff and reasonably priced.
Service is a little slow on the weekends but this is our go to sushi spot.
This is our favorite go to sushi spot. Service is a little slow on fri/ sat nights but other than that I can't complain.
Good fresh neighborhood sushi restaurant in a no frills setting with friendly staff. Great fresh wasabi option and very fresh fish specials. I wish I lived closer!
Very odd that before an introduction or anything else she immediately said that if we used Open Table then "no coupons". We hadn't suggested or implied we were using a coupon. We didn't use one. It was fairly rude.
Always the freshest fish. Anne is always so welcoming.
I live in California but regularly fly to Colorado. I have eaten at both Fontana Sushi Locations and have been very pleased with both. I will definitely go back the next time I am in Colorado!
This is our favorite sushi spot in Denver. Just as good if not better than sushi den but way less expensive. Get the fresh wasabi, it's worth it.
The food was really good, but there was a very off-putting tone. Immediately when we walked in, the hostess said we could not use coupons if we used Open Table. I didn’t have a coupon anyway, but that was really weird. I also felt up-sold on my drink and paying extra for better wasabi. But I did enjoy my food!
Delightful, cozy, tasty with great staff
The only complaint i have is that there was 1 maybe 2 servers working the entire restaurant on one of the busiest nights of dining. 12/31. We had to get up and ask the hostess to put in out drink order and when the sake came it only came with 2 cups a dd there was 3 of us so i just drank sake from the craft.
We love Fontana. The food is always exceptional and the service is great. We are never rushed, they don't mind if you linger and enjoy! This is absolutely a great neighborhood gem for quality, affordable sushi.
Very good food. The food was a little slow coming out, but we weren't in a rush. They have what look like amazing lunch deals that we would like to go back and try.
Found my new favorite place for sushi!! Pay a little extra and get the fresh wasabi, it's so worth it!!! Beautiful sushi to look at and to eat!!
I've eaten a lot of sushi and the sushi here is great. Fresh, high quality. Even better than more popular restaurants in town. The restaurant is cute, neighborhoody. I really didn't expect it to be so good. We had gyoza and poki tuna salad for appetizers, a fire-cracker roll, monkey brain and a plate of assorted sushi that was served with fresh wasabi and a garlic butter sauce. We could not have been happier with the whole experience! We're definitely coming back.
