Celebrate 5 de Mayo at Fonda!

We go to Fonda often - the food is always good, the service is always friendly, and you can't beat the Mezcal margaritas! Great for brunch or dinner.
Ive been to Fonda several times. Today we went for my daughter’s birthday. As usual Fonda did not disappoint. The drinks are especially good. My favorite is their hibiscus frozen margarita. It’s simply delicious. We had their guacamole, and queso fundido as appetizers. Awesome!!! Our main’s were pollo norteño, mushroom steak, and beef taquitos. Their food is fresh, well seasoned and delicious. I highly recommend their food, ambiance service and drinks. Love this place
Amazing food with even better service. Thank you to Rossi for the guidance on menu selections and making sure our somewhat small table always had room for the next dish. Definitely would return!
Exceptional food and drinks. We loved every dish. Service wasn't terrific -- the waitress said they were down a server. We will definitely return!
AMazing food and drinks... the shrimp saladdddd yum
Chose this spot for it's location to a theater nearby. Sadly we were late and ended up sitting at the bar instead but the staff was so pleasant and the food really delicious that I forgot about having to drape my coat on my lap and got down to the business at hand...eating. Next time we'll order the guac not spicy because we found the "medium" to have more of a bite than we like but it was very tasty and we learned our lesson. Went home with enough for lunch the next day and a smile on our faces.
Fonda is one of my favorite brunch spots. I had never been to this location before, only to the one in Chelsea. The only difference was that the bar moved a bit slower than the one in Chelsea, but it wasn't that big of a deal. Had a great time with friends!
Best Mexican we have ever had! The cod, the carnitas, camarones, carne asada were all amazing! Great friendly service and we will be back again and again! New favorite!
Best Mexicana in the city
Awesome time celebrating a birthday with friends. Friendly wait staff, good prices and pretty good food!
Everything was great, and the wine was half price! Loved the queso fundido. Server was very friendly.
Good food, good service. The guacamole was fabulous as were the taquitas and fish tacos- tho the latter was a tad too spicy.
Girls Night Out at Fonda and two new converts were made! Love the fresh tortillas and chips served with the guacamole, the fish tacos, and the carnitas -- which are the best value on the menu!
Food waa great! Drinks were Great! Service was great! I had the guac that was made to perfection. It had the perfect amount of everything. I also did the $35 entree with bottomless drinks. I had the Torta de Pollo and it was evvvvvverythhhhhing!!! I've been craving it ever since! The chicken was nice and juicy. Overall delicious. The blood Mary was made with the perfect amount of spice. I loved It! Our server was very helpful. Our reservation was originally made for 2 but the manager accommodated our group of 4. That was greatly appreciated. I'll definitely be back! 🖤🖤🖤
Food was okay but the restaurant was very loud on a Saturday night at 7PM. Our server was outstanding though.
We had a heat meal and our server was really on point when it came to our table for bottomless drinks
It was great and the food was amazing !
Everything as been in control, the staff is very nice, the place very busy, bar as been crazy all night.
The food was incredibly delicious, particularly the guacamole.
love this place!
Too loud and the quality of the food was inconsistent. Not as good as FONDA Park Slope used to be!
Such good food! We went for restaurant week dinner, and the portions were still HUGE. The carne asada was cooked wonderfully, the guacamole was delicious, and the hibiscus margarita was beautiful to look at as well as nice to drink! Wonderful service as well.
Had a few drinks between our table of four, all of which were well thought out and tasty, and the menu offered lighter fare (apps can serve as a light dinner) as well as delicious meals. I loved the atmosphere, the guac, the tequila list, and the entire experience.
Very noisy restaurant on a Saturday night, tables are cramped, but that's to be expected in NYC. Food was 4/5. Service excellent.
Food was great, overall we were super happy until we were asked to leave several times during because they had another party of four waiting. Although there were several open tables. I was not happy with that as I was in the middle of a drink.
The food was delicious but the best part of this experience was our waiter he was very knowledgeable very
Great value! Half priced bottles of wine on Thursdays. Guac is so goooood. Service was great.
Fonda is popularly known for happy hour but for dinner the portions were adequate the food was tasty and the service was impeccable. the wait staff are knowledgeable and treat you very well!
Best guac and great drinks with quick refills
Seeing my best friend at brunch ! Always a great experience here!
The food is truly authentic / “non-Americanized”. The drinks are delicious and the atmosphere is neighborhood-quaint. I will return many times!
Love this place! Our waiter was super on it with refilling our mimosas and everything came out super fast. My friend and I had a great time.
Great service, great food, warm and cozy. I went there for my birthday and absolutely loved it!♥️
My wife and I enjoyed the vegetarian dishes at Fonda. We ate there after a matinee in area. I'd go again if we we're in the neighborhood, but it wasn't special enough to go out of our way to eat there.
We went to Fonda on Sunday afternoon. Some friends have gone to Mexico and a person there recommended the restaurant. Some of us had the brunch with unlimited drinks for 90 min and others just had lunch with one drink. The menu is different if you have the unlimited drinks + main course ($35+tax) or the regular meal. We shared a delicious Guacamole with chips and then I had the carnitas which was pretty good. Other people had tacos that said that it was not something special (They were coming from a Food tour in Mexico) but for me the food was really good.
Service was good also and the server was all the time looking if we were happy and had all that we needed.
Great food, great service. I’ve visited Fonda at least 4 times and they’ve All been great dining experiences. The hibiscus margarita never disappoints! It’s a great local eatery with delicious food and nice atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!
It took almost 1 hour for the food to come out of the kitchen, and it was very very salty, wrong texture, and cold. I could not eat the dish I ordered, so I had to send it back. This was my second time sending back the dish I ordered in 6 months. I wanted to try if they were okay this time, but no. Overall, the quality of the food was extremely poor. I used to love going to Fonda, but they are no longer watching the quality of their food, and the kitchen seems to run by people who do not know anything about Mexican food. My friend and I used to go at least twice a week to eat there since we live in the neighbourhood. This experience informed me I no longer wish to dine there. I cannot torelate it any more. It was very bad.
Awesome time, great food, great music, great service, great company. All and all Great time
My only real complaint is the noise level but that seems to be in all NYC restaurants these days. But as the crowd got louder ( screeching 20 something women) the music got louder.
The brunch menu is very limited and if you don’t like eggs then you probably won’t find a brunch entree here. I had the burrito and it was meh. Definitely not great and I only ate a few bites. They slather it with some type of sauce so it basically tastes like a soggy burrito I’m my opinion. The few bites I did have were only from the inside (eggs, potatoes and chorizo). My friend had the French toast and she also only had a few bites. She said it had a weird taste and it was too sweet. My other friend had the torta and she said it was “interesting” not wonderful but it was okay. The guacamole was good and the drinks were good as well. Overall not a place I’d recommend or go to again - for brunch anyway. Their menu is totally different for dinner so I may give them another shot.
The food was fantastic, the guacamole though was a bit stingy. The service was great per usual. The enchiladas suizas and flautas de pollo are by far my favorite dishes on the menu.
