Sopa de Tacos
Taco Soup crispy chicken taquitos drowned in a seasoned chicken broth with shredded cabbage, crema, salsa verde and avocado
Ceviche de Atun

I highly recommend the lime sorbet.
Excellent vegetarian options.
Great bottomless brunch!
Great aycd brunch
Housed in a charming wooden house in the midst of Chelsea, Fonda provides a welcoming atmosphere with excellent service, very good food and very fair prices. If you enjoy cocktails, they have a range of delicious offerings.
another great meal at Fonda!
Was a small party just 2 of us but the service was so great and prompt, food was very good as well!
Upon seating i was given a prix fix brunch menu, I requested an a la menu to see pricing and additional food options. The waiter asked for drinks i ordered a bloody mary. When he came back i asked to have the prix fix which included unlimited bloody marys, I asked if the drinks were the same. They are. I was told he charged for the drink and if i went on prid fix this drink would be in addition. I asked since I had not ordered my meal and bloody marys were part of the prix fix couldn't he cancel and restart. He said, no without even an apology. I asked for manager he wasn't in at this time. This was the opposite of hospitality. I am greatly disappointed as i love the food.
Creative food, well prepared, sauces are excellent
Cozy and friendly place. We enjoyed drinks at the bar before dinner and ate upstairs. All the servers were very helpful and made recommendations. We were never rushed even though it was busy.
This is my new favorite restaurant. Went for Valentine's Day and the food was spectacular, including the value. It was a very cold night so we sat towards the entrance which made it cold, so that would be my only complaint and it was a bit loud. Service was attentive and food authentic!!
Always great to have brunch here with limitless mimosas! Food is tasty and the service has always been friendly and efficient!
Guacamole was delicious, as was everything else, carne asada taquitos, fish tacos, queso with chorizo and sweet plantains. Fish tacos were pretty spicy but delicious. Would definitely eat here again. Noise level was fine. We were seated upstairs.
Very good food in a lively atmosphere. The upstairs is quieter, it was a bit hard to hear downstairs. Service was great - they were very accommodating of my food allergy.
Great food, good service. Only complaint is it took a while to flag someone down to get the check. But honestly couldn’t say anything actually negative.
We made a reservation they sat us next to a window upstairs...lovely :) The food was great...service the same and we are so glad we found this place. Next time we are in the city we would def go back.
Food was absolutely Delicious!
The queso fondido with chorizo is super fun and
Tast, and the hibiscus margarita is a hit.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted w a friendly smile. Our server Alejandro was knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. The food was amaaaazing! The guac, salmon, veggie enchiladas, and grilled fish tacos were all fresh, flavorful and delicious. The tres leches cake was freaking delicious!!! Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had!
Excellent, as usual. We had brunch and the huevos rancheros were amazing.
The food was amazing. Real authentic Mexican food. Nice atmosphere. Really enjoyed celebrating our anniversary there.
I’ve been here on several occasions and I can honestly say I’m never disappointed. Great food drinks and service. A bit tight because it’s a small space but I love this place
The service was great for our bottomless brunch! We got our bang for our buck!
Excellent food, cool ambiance, service pretty good. Would definitely recommend.
Staff are amazing
Have been here twice now, once for dinner and once for brunch. Food and drinks are delicious (authentic yet elevated) and the service great!
The tables were a bit cramped. The food and drinks were good but pricey. I know this is New York but there are other Mexican restaurants that serve equally good food with a better value and better ambiance.
Great place :*
The manager on Sunday does not deserve this job or know how to handle it. After recommending this to my friends, we had the worst experience. We were disrespected and ridiculed. After being in New York for over a decade and dining at establishments finer than this one, I will not and do not recommend this to anyone.
Save your money and your time. You and your respect will be discounted upon arrival. Do not come here or to their sister establishments.
Very good creative cuisine, enjoyed all the variety!
The group of five of us all loved our meals and plan to return. Fonda Chelsea has turned into my go-to Mexican restaurant. The Margaritas were excellent, as was the guacamole, and the Barbacoa made with lamb shoulder that I had was perfect. Our waiter was as good as the food.
Great brunch spot with yummy cocktails (free refills for a set amount of time) and a good variety of entree options.
Service was really off. Not sure I’ll come back after many previous visits
Food was excellent, service attentive but noise level awful.
This place is always a blast for brunch. I will definitely be back.
Had a great girls' night out at Fonda, with wonderful service and great food and drink. My only complaint is that we stayed so late that the candles were removed from our table while we were still sitting there :).
Lovely neighborhood spot!
We ordered the guacamole spicy and it was VERY spicy- next time we will get medium!
Altogether a lovely evening.
AWFUL service!! Went for a birthday bottomless brunch. Prior to sitting down the hostess made it VERY clear that the moment our butts touch the seats we have 90 minutes. A little aggressive, but fine.... or it would’ve been had the service not been terrible. It took them 20-30 min to refill the drinks? If you want to be strict on time you should make sure you’re actually serving the guests drinks because it made the experience which should have been fun frustrating, and 100000% not worth the money!
Very friendly service and very good food. The guacamole was great and the entrees were enjoyed very much by all four of us. The ceviche left a bit to be desired as there wasn’t much fish and it lacked much depth of flavor. Still, we’d go again. .
I was excited to check out Fonda Chelsea, because I love their sister restaurant Mi Vida, in DC. However, I was disappointed for a few reasons. 1) As advertised on their website, Mondays are all night happy hour. So my group purposely chose to come on a Monday only to find out upon arrival it is limited to the bar only. 2) Service was bothersome. The wait staff was rushing us throughout our entire meal, and kept asking if they could clear plates as we were still eating. 3) The server also rushed us the entire meal, and spoke in a low and hard to understand tone of voice. I will not be returning, and will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone in the city. So disappointing compared to Mi Vida!
