Great brunch - thanks Fonda
Hostess was rude; did not seat me till my friend arrived and I had to stand for 10 minutes in the cold doorway. There were 4-5 open tables for 2. I would have bought a drink and waited. I know that sometimes this is a “policy”, but it was unnecessary and made me so mad I almost left. We did stay and the food was great, as was our waitress, but for God’s sake, have a little flexibility and ease off on the attitude. You could have sold and extra $12 drink and made a person feel welcome.
My husband and I came to Fonda for brunch. The place was packed and really busy. Even so our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We chose the bottomless brunch, with the breakfast burrito, margaritas and bloody Mary’s. The food was full of flavor and the drinks were both strong and tasty. We finished off with the citrus tres leches which was delicious. I will definitely be coming back.
My friend and I had a great experience! Delicious food, good portions, and terrific service.
I absolutely love Fonda. It is my favorite spot for Mexican in all of Park Slope/South slope. Their guacamole is to die for, especially since they include warm soft tortillas to fill with the guacamole.
Tight(ish) space, so tends to be crowded - reservations highly recommended. BUT: the food is exceptional (at least what I've tried so far, which is about a third of the menu). Definitely try it if you like creative, higher-end Mexican food. Delicious!
This is an excellent restaurant. You must however make reservations through open table. Drinks and food get a 10/10.
Everything was great!!
The food, service and drinks are always great here!! I go all the time.
Great spot for brunch, they had a pretty good deal and the food was delicious.
Just make sure that the majority of your party is together upon showing up for your reservation. I had booked a table for 1:45 but had to wait to be seated until 2 o'clock because my friends were experiencing train delays. The restaurant is small and the bar can fill up quickly, so it's a bit awkward to have to wait in the small doorway until they will seat you.
Other than that it was a great atmosphere, with really great food and service. I highly recommend Fonda for any kind of meal or occasion!
Brunch was wonderful!
Fantastic, as usual. Best Mexican food and margaritas in NYC.
The waitress was very nice and the food was fresh and delicious. I just expected a larger portion from the special i ordered, though the presentation was nice. The guacamole is memorable, as were the retried beans, and enchiladas. I will be back for sure.
The food is great. You won't be disappointed. Great service! Will definitely be back and would highly recommend it to amyone.
Fonda is amazing always. Some of the best Mexican food in NYC and definitely the best I've found in Park Slope. The queso fundido appetizer is unlike any queso you've had before, perfectly stringy, cheesy, salty and topped with mushrooms or chorizo. The taquitos (small tacos) are an amazing value (less than $11 for 3) filling and have the most incredibly delicious meat, you literally can't go wrong, but the carne asada is a favorite. The margaritas are also exquisite. If you like frozen, I can't recommend the Rosalita (frozen hibiscus) enough - it's delicious and refreshing and goes perfectly with everything on the menu.
Awesome spot for a date. Food options are amazing to include their vegetarian menu.
Amazing ambiance and food!
I love Fonda, my only issue with this venue is that I don't like to be rushed thru dinner. They have seating for 90 minutes only and then it feels like security is kicking you out of the venue. People literally coming thru and grabbing food and drinks you aren't finished and cleaning the table before you can even get the check. I didn't get asked if I wanted another drink, dessert etc. The place is very small and in an attempt to add more seating they take away the comfort of guest. You can barely move thru the venue without bumping someone's chair or table. Other than that the service was great before our 90 minutes ended and the food is awesome. I would have liked the cocktails to be a little stronger.
My suggestion to the owner is quality over quantity.
This was my second time dining at Fonda for Sunday brunch and i loved it. The staff are really friendly and always there when you need them. Highly recommended and Affordable. Their Frozen Hibiscus Rosalita is my favorite brunch drink.
Excellent restaurant. Wonderful service and fantastic food. I highly recommend it - and also recommend making a reservation as several people were turned away because there was no room. Its a neighborhood fav for me, but I encourage you to travel in just for the food. Thanks Fonda!
The food is fantastic! The service is great! One of Park Slope's best!
Good vibes, great food and amazing value for money... overall, one of the best tasting Mexican food I ever had in US.
Had the steak, crab cakes, fish tacos. All delicious!
Great overall experience. Food was fantastic.
Fantastic as always. Every time we go I swear it is even more delicious than the last time.
Great Mexican food. Authentic cuisine. We have been to Mexico several times Fonda is as close as it comes to actually being there. We love love Fonda.
I come here almost every other day. The food is fantastic and at happy hour (bar only) or brunch, you get a great deal. All the staff are super nice and great at their jobs! 😍
Fonda's food and cocktails never disappoint especially if you're seated at one of Elaina's tables.
All around excellent food and service The Oaxaca mole is divine.
Amazing food and friendly service. We’ll definitely be coming back the next time we’re in the mood for Mexican!
Have eaten at Fonda many times and it remains just as good as always. The Pepino margaritas were spot on. Well balanced, not too sweet or too heavy handed with the tequila. Guac was very nice too. Not too heavy on the add ons. Avocado was the focus but just enough of the other things to add but not take over. Pescado Tikin Xic was the real star. The cod was cooked perfectly, the sauce, plantain rice and habanero onion pickle all worked together really well. Service was excellent. Quick, attentive, knowledgable but not in your face.
Our server Alex was incredibly helpful. Best dining experience I’ve had in a while
My go to favorite Mexican eatery. Food is consistent, delicious and fresh. Margaritas made perfectly
I absolutely adore Fonda's! I have never been disappointed by their menu, service or the ambience. I have come on regular occasions and celebrations and each time has been a wonderful experience.
I truly enjoyed the atmosphere
When the weather is fine, Fonda Brooklyn's patio is exactly where you want to be for a bowl of intensely flavored soup, a spicy guac, and a hibiscus margarita. The food is always made with care, the service is attentive without hovering, and the patio is quieter than the main dining room, making it a better place for conversation. I love Fonda!
Great food, lovely patio, excellent service. We will definitely be back!
