It’s a lovely fall evening and Fonda always feels special - the way you’re being taken care of from the moment you enter it to the moment the food is served. Please have some guac with chicharrones - it is crackling when you put some guac on it and add that magic smoky sauce, guava juice and tacos - you will leave full and happy!

We ate in the back garden - much quieter than inside, and it couldn't have been more perfect - our waiter was warm and kind and not too hover-y, the food was absolutely delicious, and the waiter brought a tequila shot/birthday "cake" with a candle for my husband... a lovely touch at the end (that we hadn;t asked for!) We will return.

Although their menu generally doesn’t change (except for specials) the food, presentation and service are consistently good. Sat in the backyard- they had fans going to move the air around and it was very pleasant. This is the place you go when you want authentic Mexican cooking north of the boarder.

The place is super small. The drinks and food was expensive and small servings. Couldn’t get a side of guac without ordering another appetizer. Food wasn’t that good. We both ordered fajitas and had to share a small serving of rice and beans. Never in my life. Bill was over 200 and the food wasn’t even worth it.

I had high hopes for this place which I’ve been meaning to go to for years. We shared guacamole (medium heat) which was barely spicy but very good, though the portion was small for $16. My entree was solid- cod with a black bean sauce. Good but nothing spectacular. My boyfriend had a shrimp entree which was also good but could have been an appetizer, given the portion. My drink- their signature Rosalita, was very good. Overall, satisfying but nothing to write home about. It was also overpriced but that may have to do with inflation.

The air conditioning is terrible, almost non-existent. A Very uncomfortable experience for patrons and horrendous working conditions for the staff. The owners should be ashamed of themselves and the staff should protest.

Last minute dinner. Inside was super noisy so we chose to sit outside. Outside was very comfortable with the fans on for a nice breeze. Service was good. The portions of the meals was also good. Overall everything was nice. Would come back again.

We went for dinner not even realizing it was restaurant week. I enjoyed all the food courses except the dessert. It just wasn’t to my liking. Drinks were great as well. Overall a nice experience. I would definitely go back.

Went for Restaurant Week and more than pleasantly surprised at the menu offered. While we’ve eaten here before and know the prices are usually on the high side, the Restaurant Week cost was well within the expected amount, but the menu was way more than expected. Usually high end restaurants charge high and give little during this time. Fonda broke this mode. Highly recommend both during the special week and other times. Try to get seat in backyard.

First, the host was welcoming and warm and made us feel so welcome. I was with my elderly father who loves NYC but it can often be stressful given his limited mobility - but Fonda welcomed us and everyone was very gracious. Service was excellent and we sat in the sweet backyard.

We would give it a full 5 stars if Bloody Mary’s were apart of the brunch deal. We absolutely love Fonda. It is our go to brunch spot and can’t recommend it enough. The Bloody Mary is one of our favorites in the city. Please make it a part of the brunch deal!

Great ambiance - simple, but striking decor with artistic touches. Excellent service - friendly, attentive, but not hovering, allowed us to relax and linger. Delicious food - the presentation was very attractive and thoughtful, and the food was full of robust flavor and spices. The best carnitas I’ve had outside of Mexico!
