Everything was Incredible! The service, food and atmosphere! Highly Recommend
We have visited several times over the last 7 years or so, because of their "fabulous food".
I have not had a meal that was disappointing. Fish, meat or vegetables all deliciously prepared. Service was great. My one negative comment is that they have too many tables for the space which is small. They should get help to use the space differently ( use of a portable table that can be brought in or out) for example. With 5 people at a corner between back wall and window, we were cramped. Luckily a child and one thin woman could take the corner spot.
We will come again because of the food which is one of the best in Philadelphia.
Hubby and I have been meaning to try Fond for years! We have been missing out! Wonderful experience, with helpful and friendly servers. The food was amazing, as was the wine our server recommended.
I may avoid dining here in the wintery months...as it is a small place with no vestibule. When the front door opens the wind blows right through. Or next time bring a wrap!
Delightful in every way. Responded to my dietary restrictions with the highest skill, professionalism and delicious creativity. Superb waiter had perfect timing and manner.
Amazing food in a great ambiance! The bartender Carnie is fabulous and ridiculously talented!
Eating at Fond is a wonderful experience. The entire wait staff was exceptional. The cocktails and the food were delicious. Loved the Skate and the Pork Belly. Ended the meal with scrumptious desserts. Definitely web will be returning again and again!
This was my 3rd dining experience at Fond and I have to say the service, presentation, and the food has been consistently wonderful. It is a little bit on the pricey side but it’s worth the expense. It’s such a great little gem on E. Passyunk. Their best kept secret is half price bottles of wine on Sundays.... enjoy
This was the second time we went to Fond in 5 days because it was Restaurant Week and there were more things on the menu we wanted to try. It was just as good the next time. This time we were a group of 4 for a birthday. The liver mousse is to die for and the bread (made in-house by the chef's wife) is one of the most tasty I've ever had.
even though it was Restaurant Week, the options were large (unlike most other restaurants) and the portion size more than adequate.
The restaurant has a liquor license but allows BYOB (no corkage fee) Tuesday-Thursday.
I can't remember male servers's name but I wanted to give a shout out to our female server from Wednesday. I think her name was Genever or Jenever or something like that
We'll be back
This was iour second visit to Fond for the area's Restaurant Week. (In fact we go back again in two more days - can't wait). The food is creative and the bread and liver mousse are to die for. Everything was great. What we were impressed with was that the restaurant did not skimp on portions and variety even though it was a Restaurant Week price-fixe meal.
Another nice thing is that they have a bar but - except Friday and Saturday - you can bring own wine for no corking fee. That gives us more wine options and allows us to eat out more often.
It is a small space and it is NOISY so be aware. Also most tables are for two but they will move for tables of four.
We LOVE Fond! And out female waitperson was wonderful.
Went for Restaurant Week and was impressed with everything. Bartender was our server and EXTREMELY helpful and friendly. Each dish we tried was delicious and something to go back for on its own. Atmosphere was perfect and music was perfect for a date night out. Will be back again, for sure.
We dined on a Sunday evening and received great service and attention by the front of the house staff. Add this to great food and half priced bottles of wine - we were very pleased. The oysters were fresh and delicious, our pate was amazing, and the pork belly and hanger steak were exceptional. We will be back!
It was incredible! Best meal I've had in a very long time. (The 7 course tasting menu was insanely delicious!) The service was super accommodating and very friendly. Loved this place! We will definitely be back!
I met a college friend there for dinner. We both got a cocktail, appetizer and entree. All were delicious. The staff was polite, friendly and attentive.
The food was lovely, the service very gracious, and it was not very noisy despite being a small restaurant. It was well worth the money!
Have been here many times and keep ordering the Skate as I can’t think of any better than they serve it.
Tasted other food from fellow diners and all was excellent.
They really care about their food here.
Good food. And like I said in the first sentence “good food”.
Our meal at Fond was incredible, and our server, Adam, could not have been more fantastic.
Service was awful. They did give us complimentary food because it was so show. Out took over 20 minutes between each course.
overrated, overpriced, horrible service, felt like a second class citizen to other tables near us, no room between tables without getting banged all night, dinner for 2 with tip $250
Everything about Fond was amazing except one thing. We didn't like that we were asked to sit at the bar to finish our drink because the next guest arrived and they needed our table.
Excellent service, great atmosphere staff very friendly. Food was better than we expected. The Chef was amazing, cane to our table twice with the best cooked steak I ever tasted in my life, please I ask everyone this is the place to be dining.
We've been coming to Fond on our anniversary and Valentines Day (or thereabout) for years. Absolutely love Fond. The food, wine and the brilliant service will keep us coming. We love this restaurant and would recommend Fond to everyone!
Excellent food. Fantastic service. Me and my wife had our Valentine’s Day dinner there and loved every bit of it.
Valentines Day. Seated at 8:15 for 7:30 reservation. Seemed that other 7:30 reservations waited even longer. Only one seat at Bar. Bartender and most of staff seemed overwhelmed. Not offered a drink for about 20 minutes. Food was just ok. We have been fans of Fond for years. This was a disappointment. Don’t think we’ll be back.
Poor service and felt neglected. Could tell kitchen and wait staff were not working together. Price did not correspond to the experience.
My wife and I had the tasting menu. Every course was delicious - celery root cream, foie gras, seared scallop, ceviche, lambchops, filet. The quality of the food is very predictable.
Fantastic on all levels!
We always enjoy Fond. My husband and I dine here a few times a yr. We are never disappointed. 2 must have staples. The Fois Gras and the chicken liver spread. We have to have it every time. Always an excellent meal and enjoyable service.
One of our favorite places in a city of amazing food options. Great staff, fantastic food and wonderful drinks. A great date night always!
Foie Gras was outstanding, and our general dining experts great, would highly recommend
We frequent this restaurant for dinner and have never had a bad meal. The food is amazing and the people couldn't be nicer. They just started Sunday Brunch and wanted to give it a try and was happy we did. The pastries are amazing and the menu has plenty of options. Simple as bacon and eggs or sophisticated as crab benedict . You need to give it a try!
Always meets or exceeds expectations. In the 7 or 8 years since Fond opened
at 1617 Passyunk Avenue the restaurant, the chef and the staff have made it
our favorite Philadelphia dining establishment. The menu is always
current, very well executed and extremely tasty. Always look forward to
Food was so good and staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the wine list and menu. Will be going back again, and again.
Met 4 friends for brunch -- great food and vibes. Bottomless mimosas and bloody marys (including a build your own bloody bar) for $20 -- great value if you are going to have more than 2. Great menu including a raw bar and fresh ingredients, local coffee. Bright, minimalist decor. Will return!
Great meal. Was disappointed by the desserts but everything else was fantastic.
Fond was absolutely unreal. I definitely recommend the 7-course tasting menu with the wine pairing. Such delicious food and great service. I don’t think you can go wrong here.
The tasting menu food and wine were excellent, and the restaurant easily accepted accommodations. Lacking was the service, specifically, our first 3 dishes (of 7) came out very slowly. We were sitting around with empty plates and glasses, eyeing the server to get our next course. Subsequently we felt rushed during the last few courses since the restaurant was closing and then the server was eyeing us to see when we'd be ready for the next course. Once we were asked, "are you still working on those?" about 2 minutes after one of the dishes was brought to the table. Additionally, we missed one of the wine pairings for a dish and were unable to get anyone's attention prior to completing the dish. They did offer to bring it afterward, but... we were ready for the next dish.
Positives - Food, outstanding. Nice Atmosphere. Casual Dress. Nice Bar. Very Nice Staff.
Negatives - Tight Spaces. Wasn't dining. Food came out way to fast.
We ordered the tasting menus. It had NO vegetables. There was rice and meat and noodles and beans but no vegetables. Everything was the same color and consistency and lacked flavor. While well-prepared, it left me wondering if there was a practical joke being played that I couldn't quite figure out. There are a host of wonderful spots on Philadelphia and on E. Passyunk specifically, so I wouldn't rush out again to spend $250/two on bland food.
