Vibrant flavors and warm service are the cornerstones of Fond, a new American-style restaurant from Chef-owners Lee Styer and Jessie Prawlucki, a husband-and-wife team. Located along Philadelphia’s popular East Passyunk Avenue, Fond is at once a sophisticated and comfortable neighborhood spot, appropriate for a variety of occasions, from a casual night out, to drinks at the bar, or a celebratory dinner.

Fond’s interior features natural tones and elements, including a 12-seat live-edge wood bar, where guests may enjoy a selection of beers, well-crafted cocktails and a thoughtfully curated wine list. The 36-seat dining room with its bright display of greenery throughout and oversized windows overlooking the neighborhood’s ‘Singing Fountain’ enhance the restaurant’s comfortable, welcoming ambiance. That was a great experience. I enjoyed the food - if you eat pork, please try the Pork Belly. I am certain I will go back shortly. I totally recommend this restaurant. Great customer service.

Prior to coming, we had seen a few reviews that made us a little wary about the food and service but rest assured, this place is top notch with every. Food was delicious and beautifully prepared, drinks were refreshing, and our server was attentive without helicoptering over us - a true professional.

We had the Chicken Liver Mousse as an appetizer - it was my first time having it, it was delicious with the pickled vegetable it came with. It is a little heavy/particular in flavor so it may not be for everyone.

Our entrees were the Pork Belly and the Tuna, both of which were very tender and flavorful, and the pasta/rice that each came over were perfect compliments to the proteins.

For dessert, we shared the dark chocolate sorbet and that was honestly one of the best desserts I've had in a long time I highly recommend it.

My date and I went at 5pm and it was nice and quiet at first but as peak dinnertime rolled around, more people started to show up but it was still a pleasant noise level.

Fond is my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia because they are exceptional in delivering on my top four priorities - cocktails, food, atmosphere and service.

Fond's menu is unique, the food is superb and the vibe makes me feel like I am among friends in their home. Each drink and plate of food is treated like an understated masterpiece. Whether I sit at the bar or dine at a table, it does not take long to unwind from my day and enjoy the full experience.

Reserving at Fond through Open Table felt like entrapment. I made a reservation on fairly short notice for a very special event. I had been to Fond a couple of years ago and loved it. I committed with a credit card because I would never normally cancel. In this case, though, when I checked the menu, I was disappointed to see an extremely limited selection of little appeal to me or my five guests (entrees: (chicken, branzino, pork belly, appetizers: escargot, oysters, chilled shrimp, chicken liver pate.) So I called Fond to explain: this menu did not work for us, and I prefer not to drive my 87 year old father a long way for an unsatisfactory and expensive dinner on what was meant to be a happy and special occasion. Fond would not release me from the reservation, and I would be charged $150 because they had "committed the table to us." This was all BS. The restaurant was empty the entire time we were there (except for another couple who sent the shrimp appetizer back to the kitchen). The other tables were not set: they were not expecting any one else! We decided we could live with the fish entree rather than losing $150, but when we got to Fond, they only had two fish portions left and no oysters at all. We tried to make the best of it: we ordered a bottle of wine and other drinks, appetizers, entrees, dessert, coffees. My poor Dad with a heart condition had to have the pork belly entree. They were happy to sell us alcohol, but I had to ask for bread for the table while waiting for the food. The bill was probably $600 plus tip (I didn't pay, so am estimating). The waiter was very nice and tried hard, but his service could not overcome the failings of the restaurant. I I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant or in Open Table for requiring a non-refundable deposit for such a struggling restaurant. To add insult to injury, every other restaurant within sight was bustling.

Hello Rebecca, we appreciate your feedback. You called to cancel a 6:30 reservation at 4:30 for a party of six. You knowing provided a credit card and accepted our cancellation policy. When you called, you threatened our staff, I guess this consequences to that threat. As for your father being forced to have pork belly, maybe you cold have given up your branzino to him, since you changed the dish anyway. You father was super cool and nice, I hope you told him you wrote this review. Lee

It was our first time at Fond. It will not be our last. We will be back very soon. The menu was imaginative! Every single dish was excellent. Excellent is an understatement. If you want a flavor adventure then Fond should be on your short list. We had a spiced watermelon soup that was superb! The house pita was so tasty. The salad had an imaginative house dressing. The hospitality and service was memorable. We were treated like family and old friends rather than first time patrons. Fond is my new #1 favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. The neighborhood adds to the ambiance with the feel of a European summer night eating outside. Lots of action and spirited energy while still plenty of room to socially distance. See you soon!

Excellent food. Cool space. Talented and hardworking servers. Chef was a one-man show in the kitchen, since restaurants can’t find employees in the post-pandemic world, but our orders came out timely and delicious.

Wow! Another fabulous experience at Fond! We haven’t been here since before the pandemic and they haven’t skipped a beat! Cocktails were amazing! We did 3 appetizers and dessert and it was awesome! The pork roulettes were delicious, the patte was amazing and the shrimp were tasty. We had the chocolate ice cream with peanut brittle for dessert and it was so yummy! Love this restaurant! So happy every time we visit!

Despite it being pretty dead, drink service was extremely slow. Bartender was literally polishing glasses with a towel rather than filling an order, which basically involved pouring bottled beer into glasses. The food came out quickly, and was decent, but not notable. Was our third time there, and probably will be the last. For that price tag, it just wasn't that great this time.

Truly a memorable meal. Want to return to Philly just to go to Fond again. From how we were greeted to a warm good bye, every part of the meal was memorable. The service was superb. Music mix great. Cocktails (bartender's special) damn good. Go again, and again.

We ate outside and the waitress was extremely responsive and pleaseant. The food was all perfectly cooked - we had the Branzino which was delicious. We enjoyed the warm pita like bread and the amuse bouche of a yummy mushroom soup. Would highly recommend.

One of the best restaurants in Philadelphia with an incredible chef who makes the most delicious meals you will ever have! And they also have a stellar bartender and incredible servers. We had the oysters with mignonette sauce and chicken liver mousse for starters along with some yummy specialty cocktails. Hands down the most fresh oysters and creamy airy and flavorful chicken liver mousse we have ever had and the grilled sourdough was perfect with it! Both the roasted chicken and crispy pork belly entrees and accompanying sauces were perfectly seasons and magnificent all around as was the rhubarb vanilla tart dessert! This is the place to go in the East Passyunk area and well worth the trip! Droolworthy!

Lovely birthday dinner. They noted the occasion from the reservation and put a candle in the dessert. Food was delicious and the service couldn’t have been better. Delicious cocktails wine and beer too.

Fond has come back, and we can't tell you how happy we are! We ended up with three appetizers each because they were all so wonderful! Oysters were the best we've had, and generally we like West Coast, but these were Eastern seaboard and could best those West Coast ones with no problem! The chicken liver mousse was ethereal, and the pork country pate was awesome. We ended with the shrimp congee each, and, as usual, Lee's take on congee was great. We look forward to coming back soon.

Sad what happened to this restaurant. Very very small menu, The 3 entrees had nothing to them. Hope to see it bounce back. The online menu not being updated was a little deceiving
