Small place (44 sears or so) with excellent food. Wait staff is very good at recommending wine that pairs well with the food and the service is top rate.
Very nice service. Food was delicious . We will come again
Delicious! Try the tasting menu, it was nice to explore things I wouldn't normally have ordered. Plus, it was delicious and I felt very full afterwards!
Wow! Fond always knocks it out of the park! Atmosphere, food, cocktails, wine and genuine hospitality! Everything was stellar!!
The food and the service were spectacular! Have been to this restaurant quite a few times and they never disappoint! This is a must try!
If you aren't used to rich food, this may not be your place. My wife and I shared the 7 course tasting menu, which was varied and interesting, but she was ill all night from the richness of the food. A little pricey for Philadelphia, but Philly prices are rising, and the quality of the dishes merited the higher cost. I'd say give it a try for a special occasion.
This was one of the best meals I've had. I had both the specials for the day. Duck Hearts and Veal Cheeks. THe hearts were seasoned well and tender. The Veal Cheeks were out of this world tender and flavorful. What a neat little place with great service and a good vibe.
Great food and exceptional service
The staff was very pleasant, but the entree I ordered was drowned in an extremely salty sauce. I know that skate in brown butter is by nature a salty dish and I am not at all averse to salt but the skate I was served was truly inedible. The kind wait staff took it away and brought another with the sauce on the side, but by then I really had no appetite and wish I just ordered a spring salad. It could be I simply ordered badly, but shouldn't one have confidence in the entire menu? It all made for a depressing sort of evening.
Wonderful meal, as always, with friendly service in a lovely room. It’s a neighborhood spot; polished. Love that they quietly offer byob with no corkage fee Tues, Wed, Thurs.
A wonderful Friday evening meal in the avenue as usual. The chicken liver mousse is the best and our entrees were delicious!
We always enjoy Brunch at Fond. It never disappoints. The strawberry Bellini was very refreshing. The shrimp and crab grits were stellar! The coffee was strong and piping hot, as was my cinnamon bun. Service was friendly and attentive. It was a lovely afternoon. 👍👍
Brunch is not what it used to be. Quality of the food has gone from stellar to average. Perhaps a change in the kitchen staff?
We love Fond for our special date nights. The service is always impeccable and the food is amazing. One of our favorite special spots in Philly.
We loved the food at Fond!! Very inventive and delicious food. The service was great!! We would return next time in Philadelphia !!
We had a great meal and excellent service at Fond. Our waiter was helpful and attentive without being obtrusive. I enjoy a craft cocktail and the “Time and Place” was a perfectly balanced and satisfying drink.
My husband’s Skate entree with Meyer lemon risotto was superb and I was almost jealous, but my Green Circle chicken was superb as well. Absolutely the most tender chicken breast I have ever eaten, the sauce was sublimely flavored, and the papardelle was perfect. For dessert we shared the lemon “cannoli” and I’m so glad we did! The cannoli was not made of flour but caramel, the size of a cigarillo, and filled with lemon mascarpone. Served over raspberry frozen yogurt with a lavender cookie.
Simply said, Fond is superb in all aspects.
Food was good, but not great. Ended up feeling just ok about it all which isnt what you expect from the price point. The five course tasting menu had oddly large portions of some things. The wine pairings were not quite right either.
Food was not nearly what I expected. Off night for chef?
Excellent brunch as this simply elegant place. Omelets were among the best that we have had.
This was our second visit to Fond and it was wonderful! The food was perfectly portioned and every dish seemed somehow better than the last. Our server graciously brought us french onion soup that we requested even though it was on the bar menu, and it lived up to the hype! The mole pork was tied for my favorite dish, along with the lobster bisque. The rest of our table raved about the pate and escargot. The owner even introduced himself on the way out and asked us how we enjoyed our meal. We'll definitely be back!
This was our second time- both were brunch birthday celebrations but to be honest there is no reason not to go on any occasion. The food was perfect- I got the BLT on a croissant for the second time even though there are a lot of tempting options- I just like it that much. It is a mess to eat because the croissant is so flaky which is an excellent thing. It is by far the best croissant I have eaten. And everything on the inside is perfect as well; bacon is crispy and avocado is perfectly ripe (I am alway surprised how often that isn’t true at other restaurants). My husband had the eggs and pork belly (which they are known for) and very much enjoyed it. The eggs were perfectly cooked- sunny side up- firm whites and runny yolk (again I am amazed how rare that is) and the pork belly was perfect. Thick, juicy meat (think ham) and a crispy top. The St. Germain spritzer was very refreshing and perfect for brunch (as is the Two Charlie). Highly recommend Fond for brunch (have not tried dinner there but I would imagine it would be just as wonderful). Service is impeccable - always feel very welcomed.
This was my first time having Brunch at Fond! I've had dinner there several times and always enjoyed and I'm happy to say I was very pleased with the brunch! The service was on point, the food was delish and the drinks were great!! Also, I love the French press coffee they serve!! I'd highly recommend this to a friend!
From the minute we stepped into the restaurant (and being remembered) to the last bite of dessert, our experience at Fond was terrific. My husband is vegetarian, and they were very accommodating. Each item we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The servers were knowledgeable and attentive. We look forward to returning soon!
Another awesome meal at Fond with delicious Restaurant Week specials.
Met a great friend there and we were seated two tables from the door - which was only a bit chilly when someone was holding both entrance doors open. My friend was there before me and she casually mentioned the chill and THEY BROUGHT US A SPACE HEATER!!
Relocated it a bit is more accurate but the gesture was SO nice that they have a friend in me for life.
A couple of polite wine questions narrowed it down and we made our choices. I had debated between two and made the call to go with the Bordeaux. Our kind server Adam brought me blind samples of both of the two I had been most interested in. And the one I liked better was the Bordeaux, my first choice. Whew!
But again, service Above and Beyond!
We split the Boar Pate and a Short Rib special addition appetizer. Both were delicious, the short rib had a wonderfully crisp exterior with more tender meat inside which tasted great. I might have put a couple more slices of the bread the pate was served with but the taste with the mustard was great!
Entrees were pork belly and a chicken dish. Both perfectly prepared and delicious.
For dessert we both went with layer cake which was a perfect finish!
Love the restaurant, love the food, love the handsome and wonderful staff.
Very much looking forward to my next visit!
We tried Fond for restaurant week, adding a few items from the main menu. We really enjoyed everything we ate - very well-prepared, plated properly and spaced out well. Service was excellent. Definitely a bit pricey with smaller portions, but worth the splurge for a special occasion.
Went to Fond during Restaurant Week. Great value for a 3 course meal. Inventive, tasty cocktails and good wines on specials. Very cozy with friendly service. We'll go again.
Best dining experience I have had in a long time. I highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.
This was our 2nd time in two weeks at Fond! the Liver Mousse is to die for and so are the breads. Chef/owner Lee knows how to make a small chicken taste SPECIAL. BYOB on Tuesday-Thursday is a nice bonus too!
Came for restaurant week, and there's just a good amount of attention to every little detail here at Fond, from the decor, the floral arrangements, and the dessert. The team at Fond know what really gets to the heart of its customer base and it shows.
Great service And quality food!
Everyone is so nice here! Our waiter Shane was terrific! Food was delicious! I’ll be back! Wasn’t my first time and won’t be my last!
The best coffee I've had in a restaurant, French Press too!
We had brunch at Fond, which I was so excited about because on Instagram it looks so good. And it was good, it just ended up being a little pricey. Overall, the portions were good, and the price seemed fine for the entrees. Everyone was able to finish their entree. However, the pastries seemed small for the price. Pastries were tasty but maybe not worth the price. Coffee was good, french-pressed. I didn't check to see if they charged for refills, but I can't imagine that would happen. Overall everything was great, but we were a little surprised to see the bill at the end for 5 people. Just make sure you check the menu price before you order, or maybe check to see the pastry to make sure it's worth it!
Delightful brunch with 7 of us at the private chef’s table.
Great service fun food great time!
We love FOND. Especially on Tuesday-Thursdays when it's BYOB so we can spend more on food. The Liver mousse is by far our favorite and I could do a whole me on bread too. But Chef owner Lee has other amazing dishes too!
Visited during restaurant week but will return for another treat. The meal was delicious and the service excellent.
Restaurant was crowded due to Restaurant Week (was unaware of this when booked). Space was very crowded and COLD. Work coat throughout dinner.
The atmosphere of the plce was nice and cozy while being classic. The food was delicious. When we went for resturant week, they had some amazing options to choose from that you couldn’t go wrong with. Overall, great place.
This restaurant is outstanding. If I lived in Philadelphia, I'd be there every week!
