Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Philip Krajeck

From the OpenTable editors: Chef Philip Krajeck mastered pasta at his acclaimed restaurant, Rolf and Daughters. We sat in the lounge and there was only one other occupied table there. It was quiet and very pleasant with a view of the bar and outdoor seating area. We had the heirloom tomatoes which were exquisite beyond our expectations. We had the bluefin tuna which was a small plate served raw. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Then we shared a sungold pizza with Thai basil and mozzarella. This was the biggest and best surprise of all. We couldn’t stop telling each other how much we loved it. We each thought it was the best pizza we had ever tasted. We capped it off with a chocolate gelato and a peach crostada with vanilla ice cream. There was nothing left over! If you go to East Nashville this is a must and even worth going out of your way for. Highly recommended.

First time at Folk, surprised that it had been there for so long. We came because it was the only restaurant in town that we found that had a clam pizza. We mainly stuck to pizzas but with a couple of appetizers and drinks. Everything was fantastic. McKenzie, our waiter, was amazing. Funny, accommodative, and just honestly the best server we’ve had in a long time. We came to celebrate my son’s 12th birthday and it was an awesome night. We will be back.

Always a great experience here. The hospitality, staff, food, and drink are all way above most restaurants that I have been to in the Nashville area. We are just up the road in Highland Heights and love walking down for a meal during the week. The Hot Honey Pepperoni and the Clam pizzas are always a good decision. Can't wait to come back!

Welcome back, David! You just made our day—thank you! We love having you as our extended neighbor, and we’re thrilled that you walk down from Highland Heights to spend your evenings with us. The Hot Honey Pepperoni and Clam pies are always favorites, and we’ll have one (or both) ready whenever you return. Cheers, Your friends at Folk

Chicken liver pâté was excellent, got a second one for take away. Both trout and pepperoni pizza for entrees were delish. Peach puff pastry with vanilla ice cream was good, would not have ordered if we knew it was going to take 20 mins to arrive. Rose motel cocktail and old fashioned mocktail were ok.
    FolkResponded on June 20, 2025
Dear Deanna, Thank you so much for the five stars! We’re thrilled that you loved the chicken liver pâté enough to take some to go—and great choices with the trout and pepperoni pizza (some personal favorites!). We appreciate the heads-up about dessert timing and apologize for any disappointment this may have caused. It was our pleasure to host you, and we hope to welcome you back the next time you’re in our neighborhood. Warmly, The Folk Restaurant Team

Very good. Food was fantastic and the service was phenomenal. I would highly recommend this for a dinner date or semi formal dinner. Only issue was the noise. Got very loud at times.
    FolkResponded on June 16, 2025
Hi Nate, We’re thrilled you enjoyed our fantastic food and phenomenal service. We’re sorry, however, that the noise level took away from the experience at times. While we love the lively atmosphere, we understand it can sometimes get a bit loud, and we apologize. We hope to see you again soon for another great dinner date!
