   If you want to spend for a high quality steak dinner go to one of the many steakhouses, don’t waste your dollars here! Waited 25 minutes for a drink order, finally arrived and one drink (of 4) was wrong, had to ask 3 different servers because the one who took the original order disappeared. Place was dim, not in a romantic way as in they did not turn any lights on, that may have been so we didn’t quite see what we were eating. Market table was nothing special, greens were overly large pieces, most salad ingredients were missing, other than fresh fruit most of the other items did not appear to be made in house. Meats were extremely salty, none were particularly tender. Saw filet mignon once and of course the smallest piece offered. Where very generous with the bacon wrapped chicken and steak because those were cheap to prepare. Beware the bacon was hiding lots of gristle on the steak. After waiting for a dessert menu that never showed up I had to ask a hostess to send over a server so we could get our check. We were there the Saturday before Mother’s Day so the place was pretty busy but I wonder how many will be repeat business. This is New York we have eaten in plenty of restaurants that did seem worth the money but this place is overhyped, overpriced and nothing but a scam. Wanted something different but should have gone to Capital Grill or Wolfgang’s or Benjamin Steak House, you get the picture.

   This was my second time going to this restaurant. My first experience was so amazing that I wanted to make this our go to place for special occasions or a nice date night. Everything was off from the time we were seated. Service was slow but not bad. We went to the salad bar a couple of times before we finally got our first round of food. It was just so slow. Chicken came, then 15 mins later some beef and another 15-20mins later pork. Finally at the end I asked for containers to take away the potatoes and plantains, which were untouched. This was part of the meal we order not salad bar or the meat. But we weren’t allowed to take it out, no reason why. The server only said his manager said no. The bill came, $285, I paid and left. Maybe my expectations were set too high by my first visit. My wife noted that it wasn’t even as busy as the first time. I hope they can find some way to get back to that high level. When they do, I will definitely be back.

   I arrived at 9:30 for a 9:30 reservation. We were immediately invited to wait while several other people were seated. Thereafter, we were soon offered steak by a waiter who did not speak English, which would not be an issue, except my girlfriend is allergic to dairy and the man did not know what that was. (Chat GPT informed us that FDC doesn’t baste their steaks in butter which was good to know, but not where you want your tableside information to come from) The steak we were served was either very very well done or borderline rare (in other branches of Fogo de Chao I was asked what temperature I wanted, not so here), very few waiters came around with food very infrequently, and the salad bar looked dicey and betting on it being ok turned out to be a losing gamble by me and said girlfriend (we both walked out in stomach pain). I wound up just paying at the bar and leaving still vaguely hungry. Would not return. That being said, the manager was friendly and professional, and my girlfriend liked the Diet Coke she was served. 1.3/10

    I really get the concept of the restaurant but it wasn’t me or my son cup of tea. We like out meat cooked well done. A lot of the meat was medium well. The salad bar was mediocre. It just wasn’t amazing. The customer service was exceptional & the lobster mash potatoes was so good.
