Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Washington DC Ratings and Reviews
First time coming to fogo de chao. Was not disappointed at all. There salad/cold bar was amazing, had endless combinations of foods/fruits. The meat service was amazing, tried everything they had atleast 2-3 times. The service was fantastic, always was asked if we need anything, If our drinks were low they would instantly come from across the restaurant to refill them asap even though we had the bottle of water at our table and we could have done it ourself. Fantastic everything, every waiter/waitress was friendly and nice. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a meat buffet.
Visited for our anniversary on Sunday. We were seated immediately, had super quick service, and overall had a great time. There were some super loud groups next to us (one was watching the Vikings game on their phone and screaming as if they were at a sports bar) but aside from that everything was great as usual. Because it was our anniversary, they comp'd our desserts which was a really nice touch.
The challenge: make s meal of the salad bar. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! This place has great meat options, of course, but we wanted try to just get satisfied from just the options the salad bar. No problem. It was fantastic, and we both ate healthy. We definitely recommend if you want less heavy ooions, the salad bar is a great choice! We loved it!
Great food!! Great service!! Didn’t expect it to be buffet or spit style meat service but it was a unique experience that we enjoyed very much. The manager gave us a free strawberry cheesecake because we were there celebrating our engagement. Very happy with the choice to go to Fogo De Chao!!!
I really wanted to like Fogo. I heard great things about it and It has great reviews online. But our server wasn’t present. It took almost 10 minutes to get our first round of caipirinha’s. The round of wine came out much faster. The manager came by the table and we had a nice conversation and I mentioned to him that it would be good if the server was more present. I think the server may have been new as well. The server wasn’t bad he did everything correctly and well, he just wasn’t quick and wasn’t present.
As for the food, it was good. I liked the steaks and the pork. I was stuffed by the time the chicken came around so I wasn’t able to try it. I have a feeling we will be back and give the place another shot. Overall the atmosphere and the food were nice. I can’t fault someone for being new at a job and doing the best they can! I also appreciated the manager taking the time to speak with us. It was a good experience.
The food and service were very good. There were no seafood options, but the Beef options were outstanding. The only real problem was the bill. more than $150 for dinner for 2?!?! The OpenTable app indicated $30-50 for dinner, but this was 50% more than I expected. The food was excellent, but not worth the hefty price tag, in my opinion.
I have been to Fogo numerous times and have hosted my company's Christmas Party, December 2016 and 2017 and numerous times for the last several years For New Years Eve 2017, I brought several friends in hopes to ring in the New Year in a celebratory fashion. Although we were approached several times to see if everything was ok, we all felt a sense urgency on the service staff for us to finish up and nothing special was done to ring in the New Year even though there was a special holiday surcharge on our bill. Can you advise what this extra charge was as we saw nothing different from a regular night of dining at your restaurant.
I went to D.C. to celebrate the New Year. The staff was great, our server Anna was exceptional. When I thought that the food was not coming around, Anna made sure that we were always served. I love Anna, make sure you keep her. The entertainment was funny too, yes entertainment. There was a little boy named Alejandro and he kept running away from his party and entertaining the guests. The next time I am in D.C. I will definitely visit this restaurant again
Expensive but worth it if you want all you can eat delicious meat! There are other seafood options as well which aren't all you can eat but it's good for people who want to enjoy the salad bar and just a small entree. The waiters don't tell you about the non all you can eat options so definitely ask about it! I had the mango Chilean Sea Bass and it was delicious.
LOVED Fogo! I took my SO here for a birthday date after hearing great things, and it was really perfect. We could have dressed up, but I certainly didn't feel uncomfortable in business cas (as long as you don't go in a tshirt you're fine). So many choices, both in the meats they brought around to the tables, as well as the sides/salad bar. Really just so great all around. We walked out with food-babies we were very proud of, and promptly napped after. Best birthday brunch ever.
Had mediocre experience here last night. Service was poor. We had to get our own plates after we continually requested that the restaurant take care of it. Wait staff was rude. Food was not great. There are a bunch of lower cut meats that they try to fill you up on before the filet comes out. Price is prohibitive. Don’t waste your time here if you want a steak. There are many better options.
I am a frequent go-er and big fan of Fogo in Chicago, where the service is great, the food is excellent.
Washington DC was a great disappointment. I had to ask multiple times to get different foods. It took a long time to get anything. It was very slow and no one seemed happy to work there. A tremendous let down. And to top it off, the check was basically tossed on my table.
