Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Washington DC Ratings and Reviews
Always love a Brazilian Steak house. FdC is my all time favorite. Food was good. Table service was slower than we are use to. We visit every time we are in a city with a Fogo de Chao (2 to 3 times a year.) Maybe, because we visited on a Tuesday, we had the ‘B’ crew? Overall 4 out of 5.
We always enjoy a trip to Fogo de Chao for special family events. Even after several visits, we still enjoy the novelty of having meat carved to order right at the table. The salad bar is varied, with lots of delicious sides to balance all that beef. Come hungry - there's a LOT of food, and it's expensive enough that you'll want to eat your money's worth. Wouldn't want to do it every day, but it's a fun option for the occasional special event.
Unfortunately, We have experienced worst fogo de chao experience ever. The service was bad, the meats came too late, they havenot concern about the choices of the group. The taste was disturbing, the souces made us noicious. Overall, We felt sorry for our dream restourants in LA and other cities
We normally come to Fogo for holidays, having a great experience every time - except this one. We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation, and were told that we could not even check in until our reservation time began. At the prescribed time, the hostess stand was overwhelmed with other parties, all trying to check in. Of course, this was madness. After about 10 minutes, I finally was able to check in, and we *still* had about a 15 minute wait. Once we were seated, the food was fine and the service was pleasant. Unfortunately, fine is a step down from the excellent food and service normally provided. Although this is one of our favorite restaurants, we will not be back for a holiday meal.
Gilson, one of the Managers, was very accommodating when we experienced some difficulties with a parking situation. The food was excellent and his willingness to make our dining experience pleasurable was appreciated. Good times!
My favorite restaurant. About a dozen different kinds of meats cooked over a wood fire. They give you a coin that is red on one side, green on the other. Gauchos roam the dining room with large skewers of different types of meat. When they see that the green side of your coin is up, they come over and offer you what is on their skewer. When the red side is up, they leave you alone. The meat is juicy and flavorful, almost every cut and type are winners. They also have an *amazing* salad bar, and serve the dinner with sides of rolls, mashed potatoes, fried potatoes, and fried bananas. It's hard to resist filling up on the salad bar and side dishes, but you must hold off so you can sample all the meats. The dinners are "all you can eat."
If you are a meat-eater, this is the place to go. My teenager boys tried to outdo each other on how much they could eat as the skewers of meat just kept coming....I personally would have enjoyed the salad bar many times over.
Outstanding meal (obviously) and great service. However, something strange happened mid meal. I went to use the ladies room on the first level last night, and waited nearly fifteen minutes. Both stalls were occupied. When the occupant finally exited (I only saw one person, the other was STILL occupied), it was a staff member/server. Maybe he was sick or something happened, but being in hospitality management in D.C. For years, would recommend the use of an employee restroom as this took 15 minutes out of my dining experience with my husband. However, something like this would never keep me from returning- just wanted to make note of this!
I️ had a reservation on opentable, and ended up waiting about 10 minutes after checking in. We were taken upstairs where we were told about how everything worked. It was our first time, and it was kind of hard to hear over the sound of everyone talking. As soon as the waitress walked away we had a variety of meats coming to our table, which were all delicious. My girlfriend pointed out that the salad bar downstairs was bigger, and that she would’ve liked more chicken options. Neither of us could eat enough to get the $60 value, but we were both perfectly satisfied with everything. The service of everyone is what pleased us the most. Every single person working upstairs seemed genuinely nice and helpful. I️ would definitely recommend to friends and come again.
The food was super slow coming around this particular night. I dont Know if being in a side room was the cause. We’ve never had any issues in the past with this particular location so we will definitely be trying again soon. If you make a reservation, request an open area or up stairs.
