Meat was all rare, bloody and no flavor. Best piece of meat was the pork. Service was slow getting drinks and side dishes. Never go a clean plate. Had a plate full of raw meat that was thrown away. I wasn’t the only table either. Market table was not that good. Non-alcoholic drink - basil lemonade was really good. Had two of them.
Had a lot of fun and staff was hella nice the whole time.
It is good.
But If I have one more chance to eat dinner in D.C,
I want to eat another place for dinner.
Service we superb
We stop in every time we are in DC. Note the need for updating the physical facility; carpets looking worn, woodwork, paint etc. Definite need to "freshen up the look".
Outstanding meal. Quality of the beef, pork and chicken was superb. Salad bar also terrific.
Very good food and service
We arrived on time for our reservation yet still had to wait over 20 minutes to be seated. When we asked how long we would have to wait the host told us to ‘be patient.’ When we asked again how long the host finally gave a time frame of 20-30 minutes and to ‘be patient’.
I had a reservation made for 7 45 pm we arrived 10 min before and they told us that we had to wait for about 1 hour totally fatal that,is why for that reason one makes the reservation because the table is supposed to be ready and it was not, so we had to get dinner in other place, I thought the reservations were more serious
8 people had dinner there and everything was perfect.
Great place for dinner after a matinee show at the Kennedy Center. They were running a $39 special but we went with the traditional $59 dinner. Food was great and service was terrific. Great salad bar, but don’t spend too much time there. We tried all the different cuts of meat! We did take advantage of of the 50% off all South American wines on Wednesday night. No room for dessert. We’ll be back!
This is usually one of my favorite places but the salad was a bit brown and lifeless on the bar today....
Very good service and business!
I would love to come back
I always enjoy Fogo de Chao. But the price for the dinner experience has gone up so high that is probably not so attractive anymore. But for those who have not been there yet, it's worth to give it a try.
Server came by twice. Once to bring what I think was potatoes after another server told him too and second was the bring the check after we had to find him. The people bringing around meat kept walking by out table and not stopping so I had to constantly flag them down.
Noise level was a little high for a place like that but there was a few parties so it was understandable.
We were there for 2 hours and we literally only got served 4 meats... This never hairball at Texas de Brazil
Always delicious, and a great deal. Well worth the money, especially with the current available discount. The bacon-wrapped beef and chicken, and the sausage are fabulous!
Go to Fogo on regular basis. Excellent beef. Fogo has recently changed its seasoning on lamb chops. Preferred previous seasoning —was much better tasting.
If you are looking for quantity at a reasonable price/quality - Fogo is your place. If your are looking for quality though, you may want to go a better stake house.
Over all a great and wonderful experience. from the food to the staff and even the management team. everything was great.
Excellent experience! Restaurant Month pricing made it an especially great value! Manager checked on the table several times and made sure the servers delivered what we needed.
The food and service were excellent.
Very good restaurant with a wide variety of well-prepared meat and a great salad bar. The grilled cheese were amazing. A bit on the noisy side but what made this evening was the most amazing service - absolutely outstanding lady taking exceptional good care of us.
Horrible quality food. Specially meat..bad. Sorry, I expected much more.
The service was very slow. The “full experience” promised 16 types of meat but the servers mostly brought around the cheaper cuts. They only brought around ribs once and never brought the rib eye. The constant selling of extra items was annoying.
The salad bar is not as good as it used to be. Bring back the Parmesan wheel.
My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate his birthday. The two of us got physically ill from the food so I called the restaurant to let them know so they could look into it and avoid anyone else getting sick. The manager told me “we served 250 people and not a single person got sick... you are the only person we have heard from” he was so rude and unprofessional. I did not want anything from the restaurant I just felt that I needed to inform them so no one else got sick like the two of us. Really sad someone can act so rude to someone especially when their food made me physically sick.
We love Fogo. Always enjoy it.
The salad bar is one of the best in DC and a great value
Overall great food and a fun experience.
Great Food. Amazing service! Best restaurant I've been to in a while.
Excellent food and service.
Took myself out on a date! It was great!
Service was mediocre until Lisa took over our table. Prior to this, we were not provided side dishes until we asked and the waiter was more focused on pushing the alcoholic beverages. My favorite meal, the garlic beef was pure fat. Very disappointed. Service would have been a 1 had it not been for Lisa taking over. She was very attentive and reflected the service that we know of Fogo, as this was not our first visit.
We have been going here for special occasions for many years and have found the buffet and service have been declining. Rolls came cold twice on our most recent visit. Meat is still excellent.
As chaotic and busy as it was in there, the service was excellent. I have no idea how everyone did such a great job, but they did.
I made a reservation to celebrate my wife's 30th birthday. They were not able to seat us on time. We stayed for 50 minutes and were offered meat only 5 times. Non of those times was served a prime meat such as the picanha. Instead, they were coming with chicken and sausage. Bad service overall, too noisy, and way over priced for a few meat bites. I've been to the original Fogo de Chão in Brazil and the one in DC does NOT deserve to be called Fogo de Chão.
I would recommend going to this restaurant, but make sure you go at least 2hours before closing because i felt like we weren’t served enough of a variety of meat because we came late. The customer service rep was amazing i forgot her name but she made sure we had everything we needed. I initially thought she was the general manager.
On 8/17/2019, Fogo was very busy. It was the next to last day for DC's restaurant week. I was told by a worker that they had over 1,000 reservations for that day and wait time would probably be about 2 hours without one.
Thankfully, we had reservations and were seated within 5 minutes of checking in at the hostess station. That was a great start to a very enjoyable dining experience. At Fogo, various cuts & types of meats are brought to your table, as well as side dishes, and you can choose to try/eat all or some of what is offered. I had some of everything they brought to the table! The special for restaurant week was a menu that consisted of 11 types & various cuts of meats, the market table- which is a huge salad bar for lack of a better term (it had way more than salads on it and it was a feast in and of itself!). and the soup, rice, & beans station (don't remember how to say nor spell the name of this station, but head to their website after reading this review!). We opted to get the full experience which included all of the above plus lamb chops, filet mignon, prime rib!
All in all, the food was delicious and the experience was unique and unforgettable. To top it off, every worker, from the managers to the servers, was friendly, polite, enthusiastic- every one of them seemed so glad to be serving and interacting with the customers. It was as if they were hosting us in there home and delighted in our pleasure there. I am ready to go again (the restaurant is doing its own special through mid-September so that makes it so tempting to go back soon :-) )!
