I’ve been there many times, but this night Fogo was so off. Maybe because it was a week night. They kept bringing out the same meats. The servers didn’t come around as often. It just didn’t live up to the standards I normally experience there. I’m hoping this isn’t the new normal.
Everyone was very nice, food was incredible! Would love to return soon.
Everyone wore masks to walk around. Waiters all wore masks. The salad bar had waiters dishing out what you wanted. The tables were social distanced properly and the food was great - as always!
We had a reservation for 6:30 and weren’t seated until after 7:00. Very crowded around the hostess station and some patrons were without masks. It seems the restaurant tried to accommodate too many people.
Tony, we apologize for this, as reservations are meant to ensure you are exempt from waiting. We would love to deliver you a 5-star experience, so we hope you award us a second chance.
We go for birthdays every year
We love going, and we always take someone new.
This was a little less exceptional then normal. There was chunks of food on the floor from people before us near our table and it was never picked up. Servers kept passing right over the food.
When it came to tip,, which we are very generous with anyways...the tip that was displayed on receipt as suggestions was $30 over each actual tip percentage. This can cause the individual to think that is the actual percentage for that tip.
They took forever to come around the tables with the meat. Often times they skipped our table. The salad bar was no where need as good as it use to be. Definitely not worth what you pay!!
No table should ever be skipped, as our mission is to ensure our guests leave full and satisfied. We'd love the chance to show you we are worth it, so please stop by soon.
Fogo de Chao has always been one of my favorite restaurants in Scottsdale. My most recent experience did not disappoint as usual. The food was great and the service was really good. The only comment I would have which can be easily rectified is the meat serving situation given the pandemic we are living in at the moment. Prior to the pandemic, there were the green/red cards that would let servers know if we wanted to be served more food. I completely understand that reusable cards are not viable at the moment. But paper ones would be as they are disposable after every dining group is done. The reason for my comment concerning this aspect of the experience is that without these cards/papers. The servers will constantly interrupt my wife and I whilst talking in order to ask us if we wanted more. Nevertheless, this is a small thing that did not really ruin our experience but rather was a minor annoyance. All in all, the service and food were great. Definitely will be back soon.
While I have dinned at this location in the past with all previous experiences being a 5 star, this experience was not near that.
While I will attribute some of the issues to Covid, the experienced made me question of I would go back to the restaurant until covid is behind us.
Salad Bar was great as ever and while an attendee help load the plates up nothing lost here.
Meat quality/selection - I was disappointed here on a couple levels because this is why we came to the restaurant. 1)I found our table waiting for meat cuts to come around and more time then not we had to flag the server to come over. 2) I found the variety of meat cuts almost non existent and over the course the night had to ask for a server to specific you go find a cut of meat (was not even sure what was available). Don’t think we even saw half the meats that are promoted on the menu. Such as filet, ribeye, lamb, beef rib to name a few. 3) a number of cuts bought over were dried out, this included sausage, chicken snd peace of bottom sirloin.
Service was a disappointment- while I understand we are in a covid situation, I felt we had to ask a number of times or wait an exceptionally long time for requests on food and drink or other items. Example asked for a spoon for for the potatoes and had to wait almost 10 min after a number of requests. Now that I am looking at the menu we never had the caramelized bananas or polenta brought to our table either. Maybe the restaurant was just not staffed properly.
Table spacing was good ensuring people were not sitting on top of each other and I think the restaurant handled that well.
The restaurant has done away with the green/red puck to bring meats. I recommend you bring back in some fashion as to better communicate with servers. Make it a paper disposable version.
In general I don’t fill out these responses unless a restaurant goes above and beyond or a big disappointment which is what we had.
Your visits with us should always be exceptional, so it's concerning to hear you left disappointed. We'd love the chance to deliver you a better experience, so please visit us in the future.
It was a great experience. They went out of the way to make my birthday feel special.
Thank you for choosing Fogo for your celebration! We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed - cheers!
Went for a birthday and it was the best experience we’d ever had. Amazing wait staff, food, organization and ambiance. Drinks were extremely well crafted and we left extremely happy! Definitely will be returning!
Gilbert was great. They made my 2 year anniversary so so special and I couldn’t have asked for anything better than a bigger stomach. We will be back!
despite the obvious popularity (evidenced by long waiting queues), the overall experience was rather like a hurried high-end fast food experience.
Jim, we're sorry to hear your latest experience seemed rushed, as we never want this to be the case. We can assure you that your next visit will be worthy of your 5-stars.
Went to celebrate a birthday - we were put in a back room where our server was non-existent and we kept having to ask managers (?) or other servers to have food brought back to us. We felt ignored. Not a way to celebrate and won’t go back
Jessica, no guest should ever feel ignored, so we apologize for this. We hope you allow us the chance to make this up to you, so it is our hope you visit us again.
Many delectable food choices. The staff is very hospitable and helpful. Would highly recommend this unique experience. Bravo and thank you to Fogo de Chao.
My meat was always dry, the cocktails wasn’t good. Felt like I was at hometown Buffay. The service was so slow. This place used to be good, I don’t know what happened.
Our team loves to deliver our guests a 5-star dining experience, so it's disappointing to hear we fell short. We'd love the chance to make this right, so please award us a second chance in the future.
We wish the meat would’ve came around more often we had to ask three times for them to keep it coming
It was a wonderful experience. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and the service was excellent and the food was delicious.
We went for my birthday lunch on a Tuesday. It was nice and not packed at all. We really enjoyed the food
Truly all you can eat
Lots of opportunities to try different meats
Beautifully done salad bar
Very well done Covid precautions
Do yourself a favor and experience all that is Fogo de Chao. The service and the food are 100% what restaurants strive for that this establishment has achieved. You won't be disappointed. Your taste buds will thank you!
I have been here a few times. It is always excellent. Servers walk around with large steaks with pieces of cooked meat (pork, chicken, sausages, and different cuts of beef). There is a nice salad bar which an individual will load up for you with whatever you like. The wine list is very nice, be it by the glass or bottle. But the service is outstanding. Anna was our server, and took great care of us. I will be back again.
My family dined here for our wedding anniversary. Luckily for us it is restaurant week. Service was great food was great but we were left waiting for our server at the end of our meal for 20+ minutes waiting to pay. Other than that it was excellent.
No need to settle for one cut of meat for dinner when you have this nice variety continuously offered at your table searing, jucy, deliciously seasoned and grilled to perfection. Start your journey with a visit to the cold selection bar of salads, meats, cheeses, fruits and the like, but yummy as they are go lite because there are side dishes and bread to accompany a choir of harmonious cuts of meat you must leave room for. Not in the mood for meat, we can tell you the Chilean Sea Bass was great too. Scottsdale Az's Fogo de Chao has a team with spirit and a mission to please, as this dinning format has many moving parts. Look forward to next time!
Very limited servers coming by to serve meat selections had to continuely request they come, salad bar wait too long. Food was average.
Attentive service and high-quality meals is what we love to deliver our guests, so we're sorry to hear we fell short. We hope you award us a second chance in the future.
Food and service was excellent ambience was little different
Came in for Restaurant Week. The staff appeared to be overwhelmed. We were sat 20 mins past our reservation time. The first server came over, read off a list of drinks & then asked us for our order, meanwhile we had no menu. When we finally placed our drink order, my drink took over 25 mins to get. Our first server checked on us twice and was surprised to see no drink. Each time he said he would look for it, and then never came back. The assistant server came by and did the same. By this time we had finished our appetizers from the Market Table. I would have cancelled my drink order, however there were no servers around!! Finally the drink arrived, and I was disappointed to wait 25 mins and they should have done the right thing by apologizing, bringing a manager off or at least compensate us by removing it from the check.
The food experience was interesting. The food was good, the only complaint here is that 1 server slammed the meat offering on our table before we answered if we wanted to try. Don’t think it’s a “fine dining” experience when they come by, rattle the table, and slam meat down especially if you don’t want it. Most servers were respectful and came up to the table at a distance and offered. If you said yes then they would place it on the table.
Overall it was a 2-3 star experience. Environmentally was fine dining, service definitely wasn’t
Our team appreciates you taking the time to provide us with your feedback, as we always want to know where we stand with our guests. We apologize for the slow service and we hope you award us a second chance to meet your every need.
The food at the restaurant was spectacular. They did a really good job at the salad bar having a person serve you. My complaint is regarding the meat servers. I was dining alone and they would literally walk around my table not serve me and go to the table next to me to give them meet. I had to flag down a manager toBe served meat
Very uncoordinated dinner atmosphere, very hectic and alot to take in as a first time customer. Felt like an overpriced buffet with undercooked tenderloin. Was really looking forward to this place so it was a let down. Cocktails, wine, and the chicken as well as the mashed potatoes were awesome, although you lost a star because the best dish at this “steakhouse” was the garlic chicken.
No guest should experience a hectic dining visit, so we apologize for this. We hope you decide to visit us in the future, as we are sure we can earn your complete satisfaction.
Always love Fogo de Chao. We went this time for my sons birthday and coincidentally it is restaurant week, which was a bonus. Service was amazing even with the socially distanced salad bar. It worked well!!
As soon as we sat down the people with the meats came to our table before we were even greeted by a server or knew what was going on. Too much going on at one time very confusing! We were never given the small red/green device being the meat was offered over and over and we couldn’t enjoy our drinks or convo, very frustrating! The food is great, but the experience was poor and again in the beginning very confusing with no direction! Not recommending the experience for anyone who asks.
Your experiences with us should never be confusing or frustrating, so we apologize for this. We hope you award us a second chance in the future, as we know we can earn your 5-stars.
Service was very slow. Cuts of meat were limited. Not there usual customer service.
We're concerned to hear that we didn't deliver you the experience you are used to. We apologize for this, and we hope you award us a second chance.
With Covid the salad bar takes a long time with staff plating for you.
It’s understandable, just for anyone who is used to getting up multiple times and making a quick journey back... It’s not as quick my friend.
I enjoyed myself very much. Gilbert was great!
I tend to steer clear of non-traditional service style restaurants because the food quality can be all over the place and service is usually a huge miss. I was floored not only with the quality of the food (and, my gosh, it kept coming and coming), but with the level of service provided. Not only was our server fantastic, but the entire team was, well, a team! How rare that is to find. The entire staff never missed a beat and was constantly on top of every detail - from the management to the food serving staff, it was fantastic, and a real surprise in Scottsdale where the staff at most restaurants are often aloof, indifferent, and fairly lazy (harsh, I know, but as an industry manager I find it to be 100% true). My hats off to the entire team - I’ll be back just based on the experience alone.
Meats were hit and miss. Salad bar a solid B, but we were there for the meat. Signature steak Picanha and lamb excellent, sausages good. Chicken dry, prime rib tough/very well done. Sides were meh- garlic mashed, polenta and bananas barely luke warm and not much flavor. Service also sketchy; up to 10 minutes between server visits, but they were busy flying around our table to visit others. Kind of like we were invisible (just 2 of us). We'd been there for ~1 hour and mostly the same meats were offered over and over again....never saw pork ribs, beef ribs, lamb. Finally server asked if there was something we were looking for (lamb) and he made it happen. Also, weren't aware of the sauces until after we dined. Restaurant was very clean and staff was pleasant. It had been about 10 years since our last Fogo visit and definitely not as good/memorable as the half-dozen other times we dined there (at various locations). Too many better options to say we'll return again, but maybe just hit a bad night. Probably will give it one more chance b/c we love the concept.
Our hope is that we always meet your expectations, so we're sorry we fell short. You are more than welcome to visit us when you are open to it, as we know we can earn your 5-stars.
Manager was wonderful and checked in with all of the seated parties. All of the staff were courteous and attentive. Best dining experience!
I booked this Saturday Brunch for my entire family before they left Scottsdale to go to Singapore. Both Norma and Carina were so so nice and attentive, like they always are. The kids absolutely enjoyed themselves, and so good to see my eldest grandson eat with such gusto. I thank Fogo for providing such a perfect venue for our family farewell brunch.
Always a great time with friends family or just for a date night. Well priced employees work together well as a team amd always have outstanding service.
