I have eaten in many Churrascarias in Brazil (Brazilian steakhouses). Brazilians pride themselves on the grass fed beef at these places. The quality of the meat here (Picanha, Filet Mignon, lamb) was just as good as the nice places there. The $58 all you can eat including salad bar (also just like in Brazil) is not so expensive when you consider the quality of meat (and salad bar, which can be had without meat for $25) and compare to other sit down restaurants where you get what you get at a fixed price. If you are hungry, and I hesitate to say, but you can feast on quality meat (just don't eat the carbs they give you as appetizers, that will make you full, and yes, they serve them to you before the meat comes). Not only the quality of meat but the fact that you only eat little slices at a time, hot off the "grill" so to speak; your steak doesn't "get cold" while you talk too much with your dinner mates. Staff is very friendly, I talked with the manager? (Brazilian) who came to help me with a beer question, and we were treated very nicely. Also, as in Brazil, they will even come to you when you have the beer coaster on "red" (don't come) instead of "green" (I need more meat). The whole experience of a Brazilian Steakhouse is that you are like a king and they want to stuff you full, which I still resist at, but once you realize that's how it is, just say no, if you don't want any more. You have to be careful of being "upsold" as a waiter came by with a very delicious prawn appetizer glass but before reaching for it I asked him if it was part of the deal and he confessed no. They come at you so fast sometimes you don't have time to realize what is happening, but that is the tradition. Havaing told you the above, I highly recommend dinner at Fogo de Chao.
Everything was great, except waiter was pushing us to buy more than we wanted, made us very uncomfortable, we stood our grounds and everything was fine after.
Food was great, service was great, and everything was really good. Here's the thing about going here for dinner.... if you can take your time and enjoy...come here. The wait is LONG, even with a reservation. There were seats that we saw on the patio but my hubby didn't want to eat outside, that may have been part of the wait. Then PACE YOURSELF! We had just gone to the salad bar and the meat started coming, many different things at once. Make sure that they can see your little circle on the table to say whether you are ready or not for more. Sides come later....a bit later, so take your time although we were not over the moon about any of them but the rolls are extremely good! We had a really good time and got to taste everything. The last thing to note....we went for a special occasion because it is rather pricey. But it was worth it.
Great great place for all occasions. Food and service great and fast
Like that it was they gave a little special Birthday touch. Service was spot on. Everything was great.
Despite having a reservation, had to wait nearly an hour for our table. No remorse whatsoever from the staff. Manager wouldn't even meet with when I asked. Poor service. Bad experience. Won't be going back.
Awesome food great ambiance. Place to go for great steak!!
We felt totally rushed by the waiter
She talked far too fast
Made us feel we were in a fast food restaurant
No personal touch
It was my birthday, and they did everything I had asked for, for things that were not even on the menu.
Excellent food. Phenomenal service. Great value.
The food is always tasty and the service is outstanding. If you are lucky enough to have Flower as your server, it will be even more special.
Service was very slow. We got some food, but it then took a very long time for the servers to come around. We waited over 20 minutes for our drinks. Staff was attentive, but really really slow
We were served burnt cheese balls/bread If the staff had listened to what we were asking for instead of promoting shrimp and drinks which the shrimp was tough and the drinks awful. We bought both! We paid the full price of 58.95 and not promotion price of 39.00 and got a lot of tough meats walked out with a 288.00 bill for 3 asked for management but they never came over.
Wonderful and unique dining experience. Service was excellent!
I had already dined at Fogo De Chao in San Diego, and fell in love with the service and food. We were a party of 14 in San Jose, celebrating my birthday. We were seated to one side of the restaurant which is understood due to having 3 kids. The service was extremely poor. We were only offered different racks of the sirloin, and a few other choices. We had to ask for more variety, and even then we saw other cuts offered to the rest of the restaurant that never made it to our table. The server mentioned it to the manager, but by then it was too late and we were done and over it. We paid an EXTREMELY high bill just to eat sirloin. Needless to say it was a big disappointment. The full experience was short to say the least. Unfortunately I dont think we will ever be back to the San Jose one.
Our server Tania was amazing! Very attentive and friendly!
Second time there with my family. Family enjoyed food and service. Lighting was kinda dark. Our server Brie was excellent she made sure my grandma was happy. Thank you
We were celebrating our son’s birthday. All of us had an excellent experience. Thank you for helping us to make special memories.
Wonderful! Food is amazing! Only thing I did not enjoy is that it was just so hot in the restaurant!!
I am able to use their $25 coupon and got a dessert too on my birthday. Waitress, Flower was very sincere and friendly.
I had a gift card, which prompted the visit. Monday evening @ 7pm, party of 2. Service was immediate, and we had meat within 10 minutes of walking in the door, but it took >45 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Food was just okay - attractively presented, but far from the best Brazilian steakhouse I've been to. Given the price tag, I expected a little better. I likely wouldn't visit this location again.
Too busy Sunday night with not enough staff
First time experience for our college kids. Met all expectations and more!
This dinner was for my son’s birthday. He was very satisfied. He chose here to celebrate so we are so happy that everything was great! We have been here before so we will be back!
You must check in during peak hours as the wait could be 45min even with a reservation. Still very much enjoyed
Made a reservation for 7:30. Weren't seated until 8:30.
My partner and I have been here many times for dinner. We are treated very well and we appreciate the service. We came here for lunch today for the first time. We ate, then decided we wanted deserts. We waited forty minutes before someone came to help us. We asked for someone to let a waiter know we wanted them... twice. I saw the waiter and the men who cut the meat speak to this waitress twice, and she even looked at us, both times not coming over. It was far past dessert now; had we ordered it we would have been late for our next activity. When she finally did come she spoke about the importance of tips and how kitchen staff and waiting staff all share tips and how they’re all one big team... I don’t know why we got this speech. We appreciate the kitchen staff; this is the best meat in the bay. We love the men who cut the meat - they know us well and even those who don’t treat us like royalty. I’m not asking to be treated like royalty in this particular instance, but to be ignored twice by the wait staff and to watch them chat with every other table but us, who clearly hadn’t touched their plates in half an hour, with empty water glasses and card in hand ... it actually infuriated me.
Of course, I’ll be returning. But most likely to the dinner service and only to the lunch service when I’m more prepared to devote an hour to a waitress ignoring me.
The food was very tasty, and the service was excellent. Very attentive wait staff, ask for Flower especially if you're celebrating a special occasion.
Really noisy, saw the waiter twice, reserved a table ahead of time and still had to wait 40 minutes to be seated. Salad bar was not stocked and there were no cups for soup. Our table was frequently skipped over by the people serving meat even though we had the tokens set to green. Many employees seemed stressed. Was very loud and felt more like a hometown buffet experience rather than what was expected from Fogo de Chao.
Worst anniversary dinner EVER. We booked our reservation for 8:15pm and was seated close to 9. Our waiter gave us the menu and said he’d be back. While we waited 20 minutes for someone to serve us at least water, we went to the Fejoda bar. It was lack-luster as many of the items where missing - which corresponded to how busy it was. We were served meat probably a total of 8 times, and 3 of those times were Picanha. We expected the Full Churrasco Experience, but literally ended up with 5 basic meats. Did I mention that we were served 8 times in almost 2 hours? We literally flagged down anyone willing to look our way to ask for meat. Also, our waiter NEVER CAME BACK. The last time we saw him was when he said he’d be back.
I’ve been a repeat patron of Fogo de Chao for years, especially at this location, but this might be the last time I ever come back.
Price was right. Wait was 45 minutes past our reservation time. Waitress basically ignored us.
We had a reservation but had to wait 30 minutes.
The room was sooooo loud ! No hot vegetables. And $ 35 corkage fee !!!!
Super super good. Friendly staff.
Came in with a reservation but still had to wait about 45 minutes. Asked for a specific meat and the waiter told us it was going to come. 30 min later still didn’t arrive and I asked again 2 more times and ended up giving up. It never arrived. The bread as well. It was told we would get it at the beginning of the meal and I asked multiple times throughout the meal and never got bread.
We made a reservation but had to wait 45mins without apology. Not a pleasant experience. Food is good.
This place is great but pricey. No one really dresses too nice so if that is a concern of yours don't have to worry about that. Only issued that annoyed the heck out of me was that reservation meant nothing. Every person that walked in had reservation all had to wait 20 min ish. makes for a bunch of annoyed people waiting and spending money for drinks at the bar. I'm sure its had to estimate at place that is all you can eat.
Mom had a wonderful birthday 🙌🏾
There's no flavor to any of the meats they brought. I learnt that they don't add anything. The meat was very dry and not most. The salad ar was good. Good selections.
Our server was exceptional. Great variety in food. The meats were well seasoned and delicious.
