So glad you are open during San Francisco's Pandemic Lockdown.
Food was good and servers kept coming by every 2-3 minutes with more food which was great but also made having a conversation with someone at the table hard because of constant interruptions. Alcoholic beverages came to the table very very slowly so we didn’t order anymore drinks after getting our first round.
Super salty food and slow service
Rudy was terrific!
The food was good, good service, very good covid precautions. The only food that overcooked were the pork ribs-dried out and tough. The tables wer4e spaced far apart, heating were great, and a comfortable environment.
Excellent place to go for any special day of celebration. It’s worth it.
Most annoying was a Latinix family with a screaming baby. They should have been asked to leave and/or not admitted in the first place.
Theo brought me a rum cocktail that was not ordered, but added to my bill. Server removed the charge when the mistake was brought to his attention.
Turkey was very bland - dark meet should have been cooked and served in addition to the tasteless white meat.
Very glad restaurant was open and improvements can be made for next year's Thanksgiving Dinner.
Great service amazing food
They should have some heatings in the patio area it was cold. The food it was really good and nice deal in the wines bottles
Staff was very nice and accommodating.
Went for my son's birthday and was a little nervous because inside dining had been suspended and I had a party of 19. The outside dining experience was superb. The heaters were on the staff was very attentive and the food was great.
Awesome meal esp during COVID. The ambiance gets a 3 only because we were on the street but they really didn’t have a choice. I’d love to go back and eat inside when we are allowed. The food was great only thing is I wish I would have seen more variety in the meats. Seemed like the same 4-5 things coming around (they were delicious) but I would have liked more options and not the $100+ Waygu buy up. Wine list was good and cocktails were inventive and upscale. I would recommend.
Amazing experience but the frequency of the "rounds of food was a little overwhelming for me. I wasn't done digesting what I had previously selected and out came more selections but that's not necessarily a negative thing. Service was amazing. I treated my sons to dinner and we left fully satisfied. Well worth the price.
Continues to be our favorite place to celebrate anything.
Fogo de Chao is a great place to eat, I love how they prepare the meat, all of it! However, this place was cold 🥶, some people were dining with their puff jackets on! No beer on top was also a bit of a disappointment.
Service was very poor this time around i.e., couldn't get waters refilled, replace clean plates, salad bar requests of certain items, server not checking on us, etc. However, the food was cooked perfectly they didn't even try for such a high-end restaurant like Fogo de Chao...disappointing.
Great value for the money but the service uneven.
This was our first time at Fogo de Chao and it was a very pleasant experience. We ordered the Full Churrasco Experience and we did not expect to be served ASAP! The food was delicious and the servers were extremely nice and polite throughout the whole meal. They even complimented us with a free cheesecake for my girlfriend and I's anniversary! Overall, a perfect time and great meal.
I have been to Fogo de Chao in Los Angeles a few times in years past and I was not impressed with the San Francisco location. The server provided us with one paper menu and there were two of us (it's a paper menu, why can't you give us 2?). Then someone just came over and put two glasses down and started pouring water. Little did we know that it would appear on our bill later without our consent. We weren't asked or offered regular water, which is really unprofessional to assume. Also, there were employees from the kitchen coming over to offer us meats and we hadn't even ordered yet. It was very confusing and awkward because we didn't know when we were clear to accept things. Our server never brought out the hot sides until we asked him about them about 20 minutes into our dinner. Our server rarely, if ever, checked up on us. I told the host that it was my boyfriend's birthday (without him around) and she said she would let our server know. Then at the end of our meal, our server says "Are you celebrating anything special?" It was just not a good experience all around. I was very disappointed and for how much the Fogo experience cost, your staff and service should be exponentially better than what we experienced.
Great experience make sure you go hungry
A lot of people in the restaurant with tables +6 people inside!
Didn't feel safe for the current covid-19 situation
Celebrated my grandma’s birthday there. Highly recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I was worried because one of the best parts of Brazilian BBQ is the non-meat buffet. I was disappointed that you can't serve yourself but given the current circumstances it is perfectly understandable. The staff does a very good job of bringing things to the table for you to try. I just wish I had looked at the offerings before dinner because there were a few things that were not offered. We could have asked for specific things and I'm pretty sure they would have been brought to us. On the other hand, our request for more cheese bread was missed.
The meats were all cooked to perfection. One of our party only likes well done meat (urgh) but her needs were able to be met. I can't wait to go back and just have the various steaks/beef. The pork was fine as was the chicken, but the beef is were this place really shines. I am definitely going back.
Outstanding service, delicious food
I have to say I was very disappointed when we ate here. I frequent the Fogo de Chao in Irvine, California a lot with my wife. So we decided to splurge while on vacation with the kids and take them here while in SF. Right from the start they had no specials for kids or any meals that were catered to young kids eating less then an adult, but I was like no problem let's just enjoy and have a good time. Well so I hoped. Due to Covid-19 they didn't have their normal salad bar so they brought sides to the table, along with the steaks, chicken, and other things. Well this is where it all goes wrong. First off since everything is being brought to the table you don't know what is included and what is an extra charge. For example the walked around with shrimp cocktails (I assumed part of the salad bar) NOT! They also were walking around with a Brazilian cocktail (thought it was part of the meal) NOT! The servers never once said these are not included, but lets get back to the meal itself. My daughter doesn't eat red meat so basically all she could eat was their chicken, (still had to pay full price) but she had one piece of the bacon wrapped chicken and was in heaven. Unfortunately for her she only got one tiny piece because it was over 45 minutes before they came out with any more chicken (after I had asked the server twice, as well as, the people bringing out the steaks). I finally had to get up talk to a manager and say this is ridiculous we have been waiting for food for over 45 minutes now and my daughter is now starving because she has not gotten anymore chicken. Also on the menu it says there are more then one type of chicken included, sausages included, and in Irvine they also have a pork tenderloin included. We got none of those things. It was an absolute sh*t show. Again I don't mind spending just under 500 dollars for a celebratory vacation dinner but I would have been better off going to Maestro's or any other steak house in the city for what I paid! BIG MISTAKE!!
The experience started out great. The Sommelier/ Bar Cart operator was excellent and really spent time helping us to pick a bottle of wine for the table. Immediately after that the service began and the people who walked around with the cuts of meat were excellent and listed to our wants. But, my only complaint is we had no idea who our primary server was. They never came around and introduced themselves, plus there was a shift change on the middle of service so we didn’t know who our second server was. We had to flag random people down to fully get service requests answered.
Seriously top notch service. Was very impressed and the adjustment to Covid-19 was excellent.
Service and food was wonderful! Our waiter Daniel was very attentive and provided great customer service!
Limited meat selection, for a Brazilian steak house I expect better, I was disappointed compare to other Brazilian places this one for the price and food quality I give a tongue dow
It was our first time out since COVID - dining experience felt different than before. We were celebrating a birthday and there was no acknowledgement of that. Overall okay experience.
I have been to several of these restaurants as they are a chain and have been in Brazil as well as here in the United States. I feel like this one needs a bit more polish in order to be at the same standard that people are used to when they go to the other restaurants in the chain.
Wow this restaurant was great, food amazing device impeccable
Very good service can’t complain if I wanted to
We didn’t get our water refilled until we had to go up and ask for the second time after waiting 25 min. We didn’t feel like they were paying attention to us even on a moderately busy night.
Terrible service.... everyone seems depressed there and with zero attitude of giving great service as they used to ... music was super low... the only thing that kept coming to the table were the salads... took forever to get other sides... no hostess...
Anniversary
As a Brazilian, I always look forward to a traditional Brazilian bbq (Churracos) style cuisine. Fogo de Chao has always bee a staple and I have brought people and usually, we are impressed. Not this time. Here are a few items that Iw ant to bring to the attention. The meat needs more seasoning and some of the offers were not fresh, with that been said the taste was not up to Fogo de Chao quality. The rice was plain and had absolutely no flavor. The beans/feijoada were brought only at the end of our lunch and were watered down and have no flavor. Since that was no salad bar, the sides dished were served on our table and it was a huge lack of varieties and offers.
I do like what Fogo de Chao offers and used to be but our recent visit was not up to that standard.
Great experience !! Was there for my fiancé birthday and was very nice for the first time
First off, the main issue was lack of service. There was no assigned waiter and everyone was just walking around and passing us by, ignoring our empty water glasses, dirty dishes etc. And to the food, it’s just not my thing to have piles of meat on my plate none of it really spectacular, and some pretty awful, like the chicken with its heavily gamey taste and smell.
Much better places to drop $600 on a dinner for a party of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids).
Service is good, but food is average, not great value.
