Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - San Francisco Ratings and Reviews
I was not impressed. The food was good but over priced. The sides buffet was nothing to write home about. The most interesting thing was the large platter of bacon. The butternut squash soup was way too sweet, they did not refill the bread very often and only seemed to bring the quality cuts of meat at the end when we were all full.
Also the tables are way too close together so it made getting in and out ( for us and out waiters) very uncomfortable.
Lastly, the floors were slippers and I almost fell a few time.
Arranged for my sons 50th birthday celebration and the service was impeccable. The food was delicious and plentiful. Our table placement gave us ample opportunity to share small speeches and celebrate. All the restaurant staff assisted in making this a special occasion. The service was the most outstanding component to making this a very enjoyable evening. The birthday cake that we brought in was presented and served with no additional plating charge. All in all We had a memorable and special party.
Made a reservation but still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated..once in every time we ask for something we had to wait another 10 minutes to get it,our drinks arrived when we where done eating!!! They apologize and say the drinks will be on the house but charge us for it anyway,at the end I didn't care to correct them because I didn't want another 20 minute delay to fix the bill, overall very disappointed
Nobody greeted us when we arrived at the table, had to request drinks more than once and took a long time to get them. The waiters with the meat passed us up repeatedly. The buffet when we arrived at 2:05 PM was scarce and not replenished. We have been to this restaurant many times before and will not sit in the back by the restrooms and they had a large party going on in the private room and they should’ve closed the door. I had a hard time and I know the other patrons sitting nearby had a hard time having conversations at the table. It was my husbands birthday and unfortunately he was disappointed this time around.
We loved eating here. We travel all over and it took us this long to try a place in our own city.. great job on offering of the meats. I like mine well done and everyone else likes medium. The staff had no problems accommodating our table. Each server was very sincere and not over acting.. thank you for a wonderful evening!
Things were not what we expected as with other Fogo restaurants. The San Francisco location should have higher expectations for the customers whether they are enjoying brunch, lunch or dinner. It was not up to our expectations as compared to other Fogo locations that we had experienced.
Of all the Brazillian steakhouse chains, I have to say that I've never had a bad service experience at Fogo de Chao. The servers were unfailingly polite and friendly even though we lingered over our meal for nearly 3 hours (it was late in the afternoon, so we weren't taking up a table during the rush, but still, they were really sweet).
Bad experience for a mid/high end restaurant.
The door was locked at our arrival 8.40 pm. Had to enter vis a side door to get in. There was still no service and we had to wait for 10 minutes until somebody addressed us. We still didn’t get seated because the manager had to receive a cheap chocolate cake for somebody’s birthday party.
Meat was of good quality and the servers attentive. The sides were uninspiring. We ordered a wine from 2012 but the server brought a wine from 2015 without notifying us.
All in total a mediocre experience for a $300 dinner.
One of my favorite all time restaurants but a couple disappointments this time, especially considering first time experience for friends with high expectations: 1) bar drink glass had a chip in it 2) service to get special requested meats took longer than usual, 3) beef rib and some others were VERY well done 4) brought wrong dessert, had to wait long time to correct with friends ready to start on theirs 5) friends special expresso coffee was COLD 6) 1 table over table clearer dropped dishes freaking us out a bit during quiet relaxing dinner 6) should have 'stevia' sweetener for coffee/tea. Still, it was a very special experience for all due to EXCEPTIONAL quality of food, service, ambiance. I still continue to recommend HIGHLY and looking forward to our next visit !!!!
Fogo is our favorite fancy chain restaurant. All you can eat gourmet meats is pretty awesome. It’s not somewhere you will want to go all the time, but makes a good yearly tradition for its unique experience and amazing food. The service is great too - they will bring you whatever rarity you would like too.
I had a gc that was expired. I added a note on the reservation and on the day of the reservation I called asking if it could still be honored. The manager on duty assured me they would still honor it. Which they obviously did not. And I got an attitude from a busboy for trying to use it.
We told 2 waiters that we were done with rodízio and would like a dessert. A third one offered us meat again (because the plates were never taken away) and one of them returned and said “they are waiting for desserts.”
20 min later, no dessert, no words about it and we paid our check in full and left. Won’t be back.
Wanted to try this place I went to the one in Portland last year. Glad I did tried it so I can leave it off my list. I loved the spicy bacon, however for Brazilian BBQ I'd rather take my money to Espectus on Market and Haight. Food and service is much better and enjoyable. All the meats at this particular Fogo de Chao were all overcooked Rare = Medium Well.
