Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - San Diego Ratings and Reviews
The salad bar was to die for. I have never seen a better one than the one I experienced at Fogo de Chao. I could’ve sold myself up on that alone. Then the waiter started parading around with their huge skewers of different kinds of meat. They were excellent and all prepared in different fashions. After dinner, my son was treated to a dessert of his choice as it was his birthday. The only thing I would’ve changed if I could have was I prefer a more intimate atmosphere. It got pretty loud in there with so many people eating and enjoying themselves. Overall a wonderful experience which we will do again for special occasions.
The restaurant lives up to it’s brand, delicious and plentiful . Yes, the food was delicious, but the service was a little slow. With a reservation, we had to wait 15 minutes before being shown our table. It’s ultimately a buffet restaurant so we began eating within a few minutes of sitting. When we were ready for protein we noticed the Gauchos paid most attention to the larger tables. This annoying, because we were filling up on starches. Even when we held our marker in the air they did not come over. After about 10 mins and grabbing the attention of 2 server we finally got more than one selection of protein.
I come to Fogo de Chao like quite often and have never complain about the food, service, or anything from the venue in general.
Food is amazing the salad bar is as always full of delicious salads, fruits, cheese and more. Meat well that’s the best part of this. Drinks are always on point. It’s a must try if you haven’t being there. Overall service is amazing from the server to the meat distributors and management.
Very disappointing experience. Went to celebrate a birthday. One person in our party waited for chicken over 45 minutes and finally gave up as the rest of the group had eaten by the time chicken was available. Don’t mind spending this much money in a meal but should have the meat selections advertised available!!!
Great ambiance! The salad bar is amazing and the variety of food is to be appreciated. The chicken and pork meats were very good, better than the steaks.
The staff was very attentive and helpful and they made a nice creme brulee desert surprise for my friend’s birthday!
Definetly a place to recommend and visit once again!
We came on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate our anniversary. Our overall experience was AMAZING. My hubby loves to eat meat and this is the best place to satisfy any carnivore. I had the Red Blend wine and it was really good. The market table, the food, the service all get two thumbs up from us. We shall be back!
The wait staff were amazing. They were attentive and friendly. The only reason we had been going to a different Brazilian steakhouse was because they offered chicken heart while Fogo did not. Now that they have chicken hearts, this is a Brazilian go to place. Great place to celebrate a birthday. :-)
The total experience was great, starting with valet parking, got our table really quick, the service was great and the food was delicious. It is kind of pricey, 190 dlls for diner for two (15% tip included) I wouldn’t go every weekend but I think a special occasion is worth it.
Delicious food and so much selection! Love the appetizer/salad bar but don't fill up because more food is coming! Wonderful cocktails - love the "Passionate"! Restaurant Week deal was fantastic. Very loud and crowded. Parking an issue (Valet is $18). Not good for kids. No doggy bags.
I made a reservation on open table for my son's 35th birthday. I let him pick the restaurant and he suggested here because none of us had been there before. The food was excellent as were the drinks, desert and service. All of the staff was so friendly. I would recommend for any occasion. We will be returning for future family dinners.
The Gourmet Market Table was excellent, with my favorites of pickled vegetables, cut fruit, salami and tabouli salad. As the meats began to come to the table, the first cut was very gristly and we had to struggle to cut through the piece, the second was chicken wrapped in bacon which was quite dry, and the third cut was a bottom cut of meat, probably flank. I found the meats tough even though they were grilled on the rare side. The flavor was acceptable and mostly salt. Only once did we have someone bring a better cut of meat that was tender, perhaps less fatty, with good flavor, probably Picanha. I asked a waiter to stop by and he said his cut was not on the SD Restaurant Week menu. I felt that even though we were restricted to certain cuts and yet paying almost as much as the regular eaters next to us, we had less of the better cuts coming to our table.
