Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - San Diego
Fogo de Chão is an authentic Brazilian Steakhouse (Churrascaria) that has been setting the standard in Brazil for the past 36 years. Today, our gaucho chefs still expertly grill and carve tableside each of our cuts of meat like Picanha (signature sirloin), Filet Mignon, Ribeye, Fraldinha (Brazilian sirloin) Cordeiro (lamb) and more. In addition to the main dishes, enjoy our gourmet Market Table, authentic Brazilian side dishes, and award-winning wine list. Guests can also choose to enjoy lighter seafood selections or enjoy the gourmet Market Table only option.
We also offer semiprivate and private areas that can accommodate parties up to 130.

This was my second time visiting this restaurant. The food was great like always. The only thing that was lacking a bit was the promptness of our server. When we signaled for the meat to be brought to our table that was always fast. But we waited for things like our drinks for a long time. We were almost finished with our "market place" course before our drinks arrived and they were not even drinks from the bar. We also waited a long time for the sides and the dipping sauces to be brought.
As a long time Fogo customer, I'm disappointed on how our overall experience was this evening. From the slow, unengaging server, to the uncomfortable 'at table' payment process (think Chili's), I was left committing to find other options, when spending this kind of money. The restaurant is dated, worn and lacks the the character normally associated with restaurants at this price point. Let the picture attached of the wall I sat next to, describe the condition and overall experience. Fogo de Chao has sadly, given up.
Ate at other Fogo that had better service. We had to ask to have more than two gauchos come to our table. They didn’t bring sides until we were done eating. Fun place to dine with the family just not great service at this location.
Everything was great!
This was my second time at a Fogo de Chao. My first experience was in San Jose and was 5 stars a the way, so maybe my expectations were set. The San Diego location has a very small salad bar. The meat servers seemed to be rushing us with a total lack of enthusiasm for their jobs. We had no primary server for our table who greeted us, welcomed us, asked us if we knew anything??? Good thing we had been there before! I ordered a drink which I had to ask for twice!
We asked about one of the cuts of meat and the server had no knowledge of what he was even serving us, one cut was burned... hmmm... overall very disappointing!
This best restaurant I have ever been too! 10/10. I celebrated my girlfriends birthday there.
As usual very good experience! The same manager for the last 4-5 years extremely competent and attentive.
We had a very nice meal.
This place was amazing. The food just keeps coming by and its very delicious. The staff is super attentive, we must of been greeted 5 times by different staff, once by the manager to check on us. Kind of nice, made us feel important. :)
We went for restaurant month. Plenty of selections. Food and drinks were amazing. Serivce was great, very friendly. It was a bit too loud for my liking, and our table was oddly located. It was right along side the island with the dishes. We were constantly being bumped by folks trying to pass by.
Alejandro the manager, excelent attention
Loved the Restaurant Month Special at $39
Is a good place but value for price is low
Our best experience yet here! Everything was fantastic, soup to dessert! I like the idea of being asked if we would like any particular sides rather than just delivering all, also we could request specific items from the grill if they hadn’t made their round to us. Simply awesome!
Carne seca, recalentada, y no dieron los buenos cortes
Birthday dinner for my wife
Great service, quick, detailed, personable and thoughtful. Excellent wait staff!
Great restaurant. Love the food
Very good as always. Seemed like a lot of new staff that evening. But all were good. Filling glasses, checking on things and making sure we got the meats we wanted and cooked the way we requested. Wish there was more light. Room a bit dark
Extremely attentive staff, exceptional food, nice atmosphere.
Aaron, the manager, insured that our experience was as we had hoped and requested upon our arrival. Thank you Aaron!
Amber was our server and was excellent at her thorough and excellent table service throughout the meal, in conjunction with Camilla and the two grill gauchos!
Thank you to all who made our experience special.
It was so lovely! My granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our second experience with your restaurant. The first time was in Washington DC!!! Always exceptional!!!!
Hard to get service for drinks. Meat service was fantastic.
We dined at a busy time and day so we didn’t get to taste all of the meats. But we enjoyed the full churrasco experience so we will definitely be back!
Great food, pleasent servers, although service was a little slow. A litle pricey, but worth it
This was my first time here and overall it was more than what i expected. I enjoyed the whole atmosphere.
The salad bar is exceptional. The quality and variety of meat is fair. The service was way off. Value for $ substandard.
Three birthdays. We reserved at this place for dinner due to an email blast I received about the summer special for 39 dollars. Since the crowd was of a good size I didn’t want to have final bill challenges. What a mistake. The waitress was informed of our choice and I added two bottles of Malbec to be paid by yours truly. Well the waitress kept trying to up-sell and say well we are all doing
The full experience. Then asked for a two stage seafood tower. Once we rejected both options and re- explained the 39 dollar deal service went to crap. I have been to this and other fogos throughout the states. I actually have lunch once or twice a month and am treated well by all staff. As soon as some of us went to get salad meat was served to some in the party. Three different times the guest at the table advised the swordsman ( not sure what they are called) they may be handing out the wrong cuts ( pricier ) and the staff said they new what they where doing. 15 minutes later the waitress comes over and takes our round meat indicators and toses throughout the table probably our 39 dollar ones without saying a thing. Well guess what go ahead and check the cameras as you will see how not once where we offered more wine or drinks and simply handed the desert menu. Our plates were to be replaced and weren’t and our food indicators stayed green for most of the night with the swordsman only visiting other tables and ignoring ours. We asked for more meat and waited and waited. Finally we asked for the check and she then came back saying we could get three courtesy deserts. I brought down my tip to 12 or 13 percent to send a message. This experience was embarrassing as I made the choice to pick this place. I will keep going for lunch but will probably not have diner. The experience was simply unprofessional and staff lacked emotional intelligence. We left craving a couple more bottles of wine and more cut experiences. First time I walk out hungry from your restaurants.
The best part was the friendly service provided by all employees. Second were the tasty dessert options. Third was the pleasant ambiance, and last was the food. We paid about $260.00 for 3 people (including tax and tip ) and in my opinion it was not worth it. The chicken and beef were dry and chewy. I expected the filet mignon to be tender and it was not; that was a big disappointment because we paid more just to have filet mignon. The salad bar was okay, but not worth what we paid. Next to the salad bar they have a small table with rice and beans (to accompany the meat of your choice). The rice was as good as home made rice, but the beans were bland. In short, I don't expect to go there again.
Great place to celebrate!
We love a good Brazilian steakhouse. We keep seeking a good one. This one was over 200 dollars for 2 persons. I rate a restaurant based if I would go out of my way to return... The food was nothing to write home about. The cost was not worth the food. The service was so so and near less than average. On a scale of 1 to 10 with the likeness to return I would say there is a 0 percent probability that we would go back to this restaurant. We would try every other restaurant in the vicinity and then somewhere else...probably never go back there of our own accord. I have been to 12 different Brazilian Steakhouses from South America, Mexico, Texas, Vegas, LA, Long Beach, Orange County, San Bernardino...none of the California based Brazilian steakhouses are worthy of a second trip this far...this one is no exception.
Horrible service slow no pre bus on our table and very disappointed as we were so excited.
Great service delicious food a wonderful experience !!!
Great food & great experience, I would definitely recommend this for good times with family and friends. I would've rated it higher, but its quite pricey.
Our dinner was great, and the service was excellent.
In our opinion this is a good restaurant for groups and for the fanfare. It’s entertaining, and the staff is very cordial. We found the meet tough and very very salty.
Fogo de Chao was amazing! Went for my birthday dinner after hearing a lot of good reviews from friend. They did not disappoint food was great selection of meets was great. Overall great experience!
AMAZING FOOD very nice and elegant however It was our first time and I was celebrating my girlfriend birthday no special treat or song or candle was given nor was it explained to us the way it worked when it came to being served the meat we sat in our seats for over 15 minutes trying to figure out when the waiters were going to come and serve us. Overall it was a good experience.
It was. Great!
